bought this to replace an old 2011 13" Macbook Pro for my wife - she loves this new 12" Macbook for it's slim size and super light weight. As usual Apple build quality is excellent with the aluminum chassis and great Retina display. The only negative I've found is that battery life is just ok compared to my 15" Macbook pro and USB-C ports are annoying since you need a dongle for everything except the power charger. Also the keyboard on newer Macs feel a bit different and I prefer the feel of the older Macbook Pros (2013 model).

I had 2016 version and new upgraded processor and keyboard are HUGE upgrades and worth it! I email, surf web and do all my off-hour work on this device and love it! It has enough power and perfect for travel.

Listen, you have to research and make sure you get what you want when it comes to any product, especially a computer and even more so with an Apple computer. I love the size and weight of this computer. And I definitely love the battery life. However, the one USB-C port is a major negative. I have been using this for a few months now and I would say if you have iCloud & an external storage device you will be fine. My external storage is a micro-USB device and it makes traveling easier. If this computer checks most, of not all of your boxes, go for it! If you can get it at an amazing price like I did, definitely go for it!

I am a part-time writer and love the size and small weight . So easy to carry wherever I need to travel. Battery seems to be adequate so far. Doesn't overheat, which is a plus.

I have used both Mac and PC products for quite some time but never owned a MacBook, The main reason....the COST. It seems that Apple products are about 50% more than the something similar on a PC platform. BestBuy recently had these little 12" beauties on sale for great price, and I figured I'd give one a try. Setup was a breeze, the display is one of the best that I've seen, the size is perfect for travelling and the system is quite fast. I have heard that Apple recently decided to discontinue this particular MacBook platform so if another good sale comes around, go get one. You won't be disappointed.

Bought this for my wife since her old MacBook Pro finally kicked the bucket (I broke it accidentally). I must say, she LOVES this laptop! It runs faster than her old Pro and can still handle software like Photoshop without any delay. The fact that it is so light allows her to carry it with her wherever she wants too. I must say, best decision I’ve made.

I love my Macbook, it's compact, it's easy to carry everywhere. It's great for me who only use Word, Excel, access internet and open emails. I save all files on Icloud and do not use its storage for pictures or music. It works great for me! I got $500 discount on this mac because I opened Best buy credit card... What an offer!

Lightweight, small and fast. Love it for traveling

BestBuy was offering the Macbook for only $949 at time of purchase. This was an excellent value for a product that is thin, portable, provides a clear retina display and performs great. Though, full price is a bit steep compared to other laptops in the Macbook's category. All in all a great laptop. Would definitely recommend if on sale!

Very light. Great for word-processing and web surfing. Wish it had come with a USB dongle. At least the dongles are cheap on Amazon.

I bought this for my 12 year old and she loves it. It's so light and the key board is durable. Would purchase another if I had to.
