Needed a computer for my wife she had an older Mac book pro, this model is smaller, quicker and lighter than the older pro models. I am thinking of getting one for myself for day to day work when I travel because it is small light and powerful.

Reliable, compact, sleek, well made, fast, excellent display!

Apple has done it again! Great laptop for all the Apple fans out there. Yes they are pushing you to USB-C and yes you are forced to change and learn something new. What's wrong with that? Our home is wireless already so adding the printer was easy. Seeing the Hard drive connected to the airport easy as well. Great Value and did i mention FAST!

I'll make this review simple by describing pros and cons (running El Capitian) Pros: -Able to open multiple tabs in Safari with no hiccups to other applications -Starts up reasonably fast (under 30 seconds) -You do get used to the keyboard (it was weird at first) -1080p YouTube videos run just fine, goes for other 1080p movies too -Screen is excellent. Makes you forget it's only 12" Cons -Not a fan of using USB-C for power charging. It was tripped over, and brought the computer with because it is so light. -I notice some webpages take a little longer to load than what I am used to (I'm used to no delay). But it is not by any means slow. -480p front cam seems weak for the price. But it is seldomly used by me.

Pros: - Lightweight, extremely portable - Retina display is crisp and beautiful - Speaker quality good - After some getting used to, I actually like keyboard better than the one on my MacBook Pro Cons: - No USB, HDMI, or SD Card slots, but I guess that helps keep it so compact. Just the USB-C and headphone jack are available. - The keyboard can take some getting used to, but I have found I like it better now than the traditional keyboard on the MacBook Pros - It's not a powerhouse computer, so no big gaming on this one. All in all a good choice for someone who wants portability in a laptop. The only thing I have found I can't do on it is heavy gaming. Pretty much everything else works just fine on it.

The MacBook 12 is indeed the best laptop today when it comes to design and performance. The absence of fan makes it so quite that you will even forget that you are working on a laptop, esp. if you are coming from a background of working with old heavy laptops ,like I am. The laptop is so sleek and light that even my 5th grader, when lifted it asked if it's a real laptop. One thing that I didn't like about it and that's on the BestBuy's part - they sold it as "Geek squad certified", which is ideally comparable to an Apple refurbished laptop, the laptop was not that clean and has some marks at the bottom. But towards the end of day, since I got it 100$ cheaper than the already discounted price of $999(for a new one), I am pretty satisfied.

This product is nothing short of incredible. I have average needs, and this computer exceeds all expectations I had for it. Battery life is amazing, lasting me all day off of one charge. I'm never concerned about needing to find a place to charge at school because it never dies in class. It's wonderful at multitasking with basic applications such as google chrome and Microsoft word simultaneously. The slim design and light weight are truly remarkable. It feels like it's hardly there when it's in your backpack. If you're considering this product, you can't go wrong with this one.

He screen is great it is extremely light. The computer can be charged with a standard external battery and that's a plus. I like the way the keyboard feels. It does not have the usually ports(USB) but that's not a deal breaker for me.

Great computer bought from best buy the best tech store!

Got this for $770 on sale and had some points, other-wise a bit over priced at $1200, get the MacBook Pro at that price. I use this mainly for travel and some school so general users would be find with this.

I purchased the MacBook 40 days ago. The MacBook travels with me on a daily bases inside my longchamp bag along with my college binder, thick books and personal items. I must say, I am amaze how light and durable this laptop is. Battery life is great but if you're a heavy user, you might want to consider carrying your charger at all times. No big difference the laptop itself is super thin have your charger with you all the time won't add more. Downside, no USB port. Which I understand the purpose of not having one because it's super thing but I dislike after investing a good amount of money towards this divide, you would think money maker apple would add for FREE the adaptor(<- my reason why I will give a four stars to APPLE NOT BESTBUY= 5 start) Overall, great product and would recommend.

I had to upgrade since the 11 inch macbook air isn't a thing anymore and mine got ruined. I thought I'd hate the keyboard after using in the store. While I do prefer the old style I've gotten used to it and it doesn't bother me anymore. The screen is gorgeous and the device is super lightweight. The footprint of the machine is actually smaller than the 11 inch air which is somewhat crazy. Speakers sound great. Amazing machine. I got mine on sale for $999 and it feels worth it at that price.

I bought this for my workplace for USB-C compatibility testing. The only difference between the Macbook 2015 & Macbook 2016 is latter has 6th Gen core processor. You can't go wrong with either of them. Its good for the users who are always on the run and a need light fast laptop for their travel however the downside is that it only has 1 USB-C port so either you charge the laptop or use it for connectivity.

laptop is light weight, decent power retention, repowers quickly, great for multiple applications simultaneously, and is fast.

This 2lb laptop is replacing a 6 year old 7lb machine that was experiening windows creep, progressive slowing. The old machine would also update at 10am wasting 20 minutes of my time that I needed to work on papers. This little machine from Apple lets you set what time updates will happen and it is powerful enough to run everything required for my college program. It wasn't a deal breaker on my computer choice, but I asked around if it will play Sims 4, I got mixed answers from sales associates, but I find it runs the game just fine. The unit does get a little hot because it doesn't contain fans and I've had a one graphics errors on the sleep waking. The other downside is that I need an app to get it to recognise my samsung cell phone. But the airdrop from my iPad mini works really well and it connects to all my Bose audio products wonderfully via bluetooth. This computer will definitely be a go to machine for all my work. I am never home and it is definitely not a burden on my shoulders in my bag, or makes me find an outlet within an hour. I have no issues with it having only 1 USB 3, I never connect anything to my laptops anyway. I am very satisfied that this Macbook met all my needs and the only reason I am giving it 4 stars is the price for purchase.

I absolutely love it. The new rose gold color is such an added plus for me. I'm sure some guys wouldn't care for it, but it is very state-of-the-art technology looking and beautiful at the same time. It works like a dream. It's so fast and the battery last pretty darn long for being as thin as it is. I wouldn't say it last 11 hours like it says it does, but it definitely can handle most of the days work without ever being plugged in. I love it!

I bought this computer for my partner and she loves it. It's very portable and the new resolution on the display is incredibly clear! The trackpad and keyboard are really easy to use. The only reason why I gave it four stars is because we had to buy an adapter for the USB port since this one has the latest technology (USBC)--slightly inconvenient. Otherwise, excellent computer--Apple is always my first and only choice!

What can I say, it's a MAC. This is the lightest laptop in the market weighing 2lbs. The keyboard does take a bit of getting used to. The screen resolution is great and is one of the brightest screens I've seen. The speakers are great also, but lack bass. The only drawback is that there's only one USB-C port and pricing. I wished there was at least 2 available. Since the MacBook is not as powerful as the MacBook Air, it should have been under $1,000.

I use my computer everyday with school and work. The battery life is amazing and if it gets super low it charges back up quickly; I never have to worry about me not being able to use it because it dies. I love the size as well it fits perfect in my backpack and still gives me plenty of room to put my school supplies in it. The desk at school are so tiny but my laptop fits perfect. I would definitely recommend this laptop to any college student or someone that works a lot on their computer.

Perfect for the casual user. Bought for my wife and she loves it. Super thin and sleek design makes for easy portability. Excellent battery life. New keyboard has a great feel and I like how they enlarged the trackpad. My one gripe would the new USB-C charging "blocks" no longer include an extender cable. Could be annoying if the nearest outlet is more than a few feet away, but I'm sure you can get an upgraded cable if necessary.
