For a laptop to take on the go, this is a great choice. It is incredibly light with fast load and downloads and no sacrifice to resolution. It is a small screen though so for any thing dealing with prolonged use of spreadsheets and editing you may want to consider a larger screen, but for straight forward writing, reading or just internet browsing and social networking this is very convenient, efficient and worth the investment. Not to mention the new butterfly key/keyboard design is very smooth and the rose gold color is a nice touch over the standard black and silver options for laptops. Most definitely recommended.

This MacBook is pretty awesome for my 12 year old daughter. It is so thin and light it feels like you are carrying an iPad. I tried it out a little bit and it is very fast. I bought it on sale for $1250 instead of the retail price of $1600. The computer that her school provides is a dell that constantly had issues all year long so we wanted something that was dependable. She absolutely loves it. The keyboard is so easy to type on for her and for me. I was surprised because I have pretty big hands but it was very smooth. I would definitely recommend this computer if you wait for a good sale on it like we did.

I decided to minimize a bit, and “downgraded”. My previous machine was a MacBook Pro. There was nothing wrong with it, but it had a HDD vs SSD, and was warmer and heavier. This new machine is lighter, cooler, and faster. With the 512GB solid state drive, there is almost no noise; less heat, and it’s basically the weight of a large iPad, but with actual computer capabilities. My only wish is that the SSD prices would come down. I’d love a TB or storage, and the cost of that difference is excessive, in my opinion.

Lightweight, powerful, just what my daughter needed for school. She is thrilled with her new laptop. Good speed, easy to use, and fits nicely in her backpack.

The MacBook is light, slim, and nice to look at. It has enough power and hard drive space for pretty much anything you would use it for. I would highly recommend!

I love how small and light this macbook is. I can use it almost anywhere. It runs great for what I use it for. I wish it had at least two usb c ports tho.

I purchased this laptop to replace a 2009 15" MacBook Pro as I was looking for a lighter replacement. I worried about speed with the difference in processors. I ran some benchmarks and found the M5 models were twice as fast as what I was running and about equal to the Pros available at the time. My uses for the laptop is remote photo editing and it definitely can handle that. Sometimes it will process files faster than my 21.5" iMac. Granted the SSD and RAM contribute to that. If you are looking for a very portable and capable laptop, do not overlook this model.

I have always been a PC consumer, until I decided to find out what all the fuss was about with Macs. I will never purchase a PC again! The seamless integration between all of my Apple devices is a great plus. I have also not had any issues with lagging or blue screens or anything associated with a PC. Mac is the way to go! My only dislike about this computer is that it has one USB-C plug on the side. This isn't a deal breaker considering that the Magic Mouse 2 connects via Bluetooth. I honestly don't find myself using the USB adapter that much making this not a big deal.

I teach Distance Education with a state university and needed a lightweight computer for travel. Initially I got the M3 processor/8GB memory but noticed excessive loading time. Upgraded within 30 days to the M5 processor/8GB memory(with no hassle from Best Buy--they were fabulous) and larger flash storage and absolutely love it. No wait time for classwork and internet--and super lightweight.

I use this laptop for school and i love it. I got it on sale so I ended up paying about $1,100 for it which is more than i wanted to pay but i really do love it. it’s small and compact which makes traveling with it nice. i do some light animation on it and it handles that well. the price is a lot but the screen is really compelling. 1440p on only 12 inches. it’s fantastic.

My last computer was a 2011 Macbook Pro. It lasted me over 5 years with little to no headaches. I knew my next laptop would be a macbook but which one? The sales person/supervisor John at Best Buy in Middletown was knowledgeable and really worked to help find the right machine to meet my needs. I went with the new Macbook. Have it only for 2 days and am thrilled with it. Will take a little getting used to with having only the one port which is used to charge the machine. Definitely pick up the adapters for usb usage and hooking up to an HDMI. All in all a powerhouse for such a small sexy machine!

This laptop has an excellent screen, Retina. Is very light to carry on and take it anywhere. I bought it with a promotion, so price quality was really good. Ive been using a macbook air since 2012 and was a good change.

I'm absolutely in love with my MacBook, it's very convenient for someone who travels a lot and needs something small but powerful!

I love my new MacBook! I can't believe how lightweight this thing is. I've had a MacBook Pro, and a MacBook Air, but this is now my favorite out of the three. It's kind of the perfect balance between the two. I got the rose gold one and I really like it! It's very unique. I was worried I was going to dislike this computer because it doesn't have a USB port, but I just got the dongle for it and it's all good.

The Macbook is about as light as an iPad and does so much more. For basic computing and traveling this is the one to have. However if you want to be editing videos especially in 4K, I could look to the Pro...

Simply amazing build quality and amazing light weight of 2 lbs. The key difference between 3 lbs and 2 lbs is a massive one. With 3 lbs you get fatigued after 30 minutes on your lap, with 2 lbs you never get fatigued. You can have this on your lap and keep working forever because you never notice the weight. Lack of ports is honestly very annoying, but you get over it over time. Overall, if you have money to burn on the laptop and all needed adapters; burn the money and enjoy it.

Apple has outdone itself with this unit. So small and lightweight, but works with the speed of a full size desktop unit

Purchased this for work and the battery life is great! It is reliable, efficient, and allows me to multitask. Hopefully this will last me another 5 years before I need an upgrade! *Fingers Crossed*

Whatever others may say, the keyboard is a little stiff compared to other macbook pro or air computers, but it's a great, lightweight computer that should last you all day long with one charge.
