    Great potential but comepletely useless as of now

    I bought the laptop last night. When I woke up this morning and started using it I realized it had wi-fi connectivity issues. It disconnects unexpectedly and frequently. I spent over two hours on the phone with Apple until they finally told me to go back and get a new one because they were unsure whether it was a software, hardware issue, or both. I went back to bestbuy and they were great about replacing my laptop and let me test out the new one before leaving the store. The laptop was working fine all day but now it looks like it is getting the same issue. I installed a new update which fixed the problem for an hour but now the problem is back. After doing some research I found that this issue is widespread. This laptop has great potential if and when they get this wi-fi issue fixed, but as of now, a laptop that is unable to let me use the internet for more than 3 minutes at a time is a completely worthless piece of metal to me. I'm considering returning it if issue is not fixed within the next few days.

    Should be A Great Laptop, but Has A Crippling Flaw

    I purchased one of these laptops in early September for school. It is thin and light and has great battery life, when it works. At random the screen will turn black and the machine will become unresponsive, at this point you must hard reset the laptop to get it to work again. I have also seen the machine not wake up from sleep or not go to sleep at all. What is worse, Apple won't do anything about it. After too many hours on the phone, they tell me that they are working on a patch, but they don't tell me when. Anyway, I am pretty sure that all 2013 Macbook Airs are affcted and none have been fixed. Avoid this laptop until either Apple fixes it or they come out with a new model.

    Light, portable, easy...but defective!

    The MacAir seems great at first. So light, portable anywhere, smooth and slick, easy to use. BUT... it kept turning off for no reason w/in the first week of use! I thought I was making errors using it, so tried to "trouble-shoot" by myself to learn better. Ooooops! The first 2 weeks slid by and because I did not return it right then for an exchange I had to send it off to be serviced after having it less than one month. Now, it's a week waiting...and I don't know what I'll have to pay $$ to get it back. Baaaaad deal!

    Although I am a fan of Apple, I was a little inconvenienced when I bought Mac Air for son who was starting college and had to exchange it. Good thing he was coming home for Labor Day Weekend so I was able to do that. The sales rep. was very friendly, although he emphasized that the exchange was out of their 15 day policy but since my son was in college they understood and would exchange anyway. The bottom line is they sold me a damaged item and shouldn't have made me feel like they were doing me a favor. Also, my son had to redownload Office and other programs, and Best Buy wasn't willing to help.

    I'm a fan of MacBooks. Now I know I'm only a fan of MacBook Pro. The Air has been a disappointing purchase. Not because of the speed which was expected but rather the overall quality of the product. The battery had to be replaced within three years with normal use. The motherboard went out at four years and today we learned that the second motherboard went out. We now have a 4.5-year-old lightweight doorstop. Very disappointed in this Apple product.
