I'm usually a windows user, but ever since windows 8 came out i did not like the new windows and i liked windows 7 better and my old windows 7 laptop finally gave up the goat so i got this MacBook Air 13 inch and if you are switching from windows it will take about a week to get used to but its amazing and worth it! and So far I love my 13 inch MacBook Air I'm an apple lover i have an iPhone 5s and an iPad mini3 so i decided to go ahead and buy a MacBook Air since i have an iPhone and iPad so that i can also use hand off and what not. and its a awesome laptop if your a college student because you need something light and not heavy and this is the perfect laptop for that! I would recommend this to my friends and family. I also HIGHLY recommend buying all your apple products here at best buy because they are cheaper and they are ALWAYS having sales on the apple products unlike buying them at apple you will always pay full retail price for everything. so if you are looking for a laptop I would recommend buying a MacBook Air from best buy and also make sure to get the 1 year warranty its only $150 and trust me you will need it!

I'm more of a desktop guy. I've used Windows and recently version of Linux for most of my life. I like to build my own computer because all manufacturers are overpriced, and most use poor quality parts and are built poorly. I wanted a laptop that was built well and enough to handle college work. I chose the 13.3" Macbook Air as my first (Apple) laptop. I love the slim and sturdy design. I've only had it for a week so I can't comment about the lifetime of the product (although I am sure it will last longer than other laptops). Nevertheless, here are the pros and cons I have so far. Pros: - Well designed. The body is made of aluminum and the screen is strongly attached to the rest of the laptop. - Amazing battery life. My air lasts 11 to 12 hours on a single charge. - Great performance. A 5th generation low power and strong i5. 128GB of PCIe flash (except I doubt there is any significant real world performance advantages compared to a 128 GB SATA SSD at half the price) makes the computer load fast. - Genius trackpad. The trackpad is very easy to use. I love the extra functions. I was worried that I would have to spend time to learn how to use it because I used a mouse for most of my life. It is better than other laptop touchpads that I have tried. - Good OS. OS X is based off UNIX so it has features that Linux users love. - Perfect for college. This is perfect for CS majors. As I mentioned above, the OS is based off of UNIX. I don't do heavy browsing on my air so 4GB of ram is good for me. However, if you are a user who has over 20 Chrome tabs open along with two or three other programs, you would want to look at the pro with 8GB of ram. Cons: - A little pricey. I think the perfect price point is $100 off MSRP. You are definitely paying extra for the brand name. I was a little uneasy paying for something that was a lot weaker than my desktop but costs more excluding the monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Of course laptops are portable and desktops will always be stronger than laptops at the same price, but this is more expensive than the Dell XPS and Lenovo Yogo 2 Pro (which have similar/better specs and designs). - Screen resolution is a bit low. This is my second major complaint. Everything looks so cramped compared to my desktop. - Not for games. Not much to say here. You don't get a mac for gaming. Get a Windows desktop for gaming unless you absolutely need portability. Gaming laptops run hot and have poor battery life (because of the dedicated graphics card). - Not a workstation laptop. Look into the higher end Macbook pros or Lenovo for a decent workstation laptop. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase.

Look no further if your looking to carry this laptop frequently but if no look elsewhere. It also lack the frame stability in the pro please see photos but if you have a case you will just fine. But my suggestion would be to Air with more memory due to you can not add to these new books

The battery life satisfy me because college class require research browsing and don't have to charge the laptop more than twice, just once. 128 GB isn't bad if you don't have a lot of programs taking up the memory. It's fast and easy to use after getting to know a bit more about the MacBook, and it's light weighted.

It is a great laptop that can connect you to the world in a snap, I can not imagine how amazing engineers can compact that amount of technology in a ultra slim aluminum enclosure... Uses I think are Great: Browse, Music, take notes, Office task, and belive or not, Play. Not Recommended: Video editing, move compress a huge amount of files, like large backup as you craw it in a snap. Even Mac book air can survive to that kind of pressure, is not recommended. As you can imagine most of the user reading this review will be looking for a laptop that meet your needs. My preference and What makes me thing about buy it now. - Ultra long battery life more that 10 Hrs... it is amazing.. - very very light weight, - very attractive and portable - amazing Operating system that also include office app Apple brand. - Super fast WIFI network card faster than ethernet cable (Really yes with a 802.11AC router ) - all ports you basically need USB and SD card Slot - If you ever need a large screen, 100% done with an apple tv. - so much more.... Enjoy it.

When I first purchased this, I was skeptical of how fast it ran, how well it handled programs, and how long the battery lasted, as well as storage with the 128 gigs. So far, I have Microsoft Office 2016, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Final Cut Pro X, and roughly 10 gigs of songs on the computer. I still have about 78 gigs remaining. So storage likely won't be a problem. If it is, I can easily buy an external HDD that connects via USB. For the battery, I charged it properly. The day I received it, I plugged it in overnight before ever using it and allowed it to charge fully. Today was the first day I used it. It is currently on hour 14 and is at 9%. My usage includes: VLC Media Player watching movies, iTunes listening to music, pretty much always on Firefox browsing the web, watching YouTube videos, multiple uses of Photoshop and Illustrator, and a single video rendered by Final Cut Pro X. After all that, it is at 9%. Battery life is amazing, as it has been said multiple times. The only changes I've made are to the keyboard backlight, which is set at 1, so the backlight is on but at it's lowest setting. The screen is at the default half setting. As far as the 4 gigs of RAM. I'm used to working with Windows, which needs about 8 gigs to function decently. Mac OS X, however, manages memory much more efficiently. 4 gigs of RAM allows me to have multiple heavy programs open at once. At the moment, I have Firefox, Photoshop, Mail, iTunes, Photos, Messages, and uTorrent (which is downloading a file), and the computer still doesn't show the slightest sign of struggling. No lag loading webpages, or opening new programs. Opening Activity Monitor shows I'm only using 2.35 gigs of RAM. For others wondering about the processor, it more than out performs. The Intel i5 combined with the SSD results in Firefox opening instantly, Photoshop and Illustrator take 4-5 seconds to fully load, and other programs (iTunes, Messages, etc) also open instantly. Since the Macbook Air is known for it's weight and how thin it is, I'll comment on that also. As for weight, it's definitely the lightest laptop I've ever owned. Picking it up feels like I'm holding a couple sheets of paper, or perhaps a smartphone with a case on it (in terms of weight of course). When I first started using it, I actually thought it didn't have speakers built in, seeing as how thin it is. After playing one song, I was proven wrong. The speakers are hidden away, but are still great for regular audio listening.

Very pleased with the performance of my MacBook Air 13. While I considered the new MacBook, I preferred the 13 inch screen and didn't see any real advantages to the increased storage and memory. The thinner MacBook is impressive but losing the USB ports wasn't worth it along with the higher cost.

I've been a life long PC user so to say that I was hesitant about switching to a Mac would be an understatement. I'm an upgrading from a 2008 Lenovo IdeaPad which I loved and served me well, but had slowed down considerably in recent years. I had a lengthy chat with an Apple specialist online that left me feeling optimistic about buying a Mac and the Cyber Monday deal that Best Buy offered basically pushed me over the edge! I wholeheartedly love this Macbook Air. It's light, it's sleek, and it's SO fast! I got the most basic Macbook Air, albeit with the 13.3" screen, because my needs are simple- web browsing, YouTube, Netflix, iTunes, photos, word processing, etc. and it has served me well. Thus far I haven't found anything lacking with this computer and I don't even miss having a CD/DVD drive. Definitely a great buy and would highly recommend to first-time Mac converts!

I absolutely love my MacAir. It is light weight, has a great feel to it on the keyboard... easy to type on and the battery life is amazing. The start up and load up time is superb. I love the fact that I can just open it up and start working right away. I converted to MAC about 7 years ago and have been extremely happy. Keynote and Pages are also super easy to use from being use to using a Word environment. In fact, I would say it is almost easier and more user friendly... I do not have much experience in Excel or Numbers, but I would imagine that it would be comparable. GREAT Laptop. Great investment...

I have been using my Macbook Air 13 inch laptop (with 8gb RAM) for about a week now and I am so happy with it. I already own an old iMac and I have an iPhone 5 as well as the new iPad air but all of my laptops were windows - one Sony and two Toshiba. When it came time to buy a new one, I decided to stick with windows and purchased a Samsung touchscreen. It was horrible. Windows 8 looks like they were trying to copy Apple but failed horribly. I could not get used to using it so I ended up returning it. Then I started looking into buying a Mac. I didn't think I could afford it but when I compared the price with the specs and read a lot of information about it, I came to realize that it was actually a great value for the money. It was a little bit more than I thought I would spent (the Samsung cost me $700 so I had to add quite a bit) but there is absolutely no comparison between the two. There is really no point even mentioning it. This Macbook Air is everything that it promises to be and more! Speed - it is superfast. I have been using it as my main computer for school and work and it is incredible. It turns off and on in an instant. And I love that everything is ready to go as soon as you take it out of the box. I remember how many updates and different downloads I had to do when I got the Windows laptops - every other day there was a new update. I did not understand why a brand new laptop had so many updates; shouldn't it have come already updated since it is new? Anyway, with this Mac I was able to jump right into my schoolwork without any delays. I have never been happier!

We have had a great experience with our first MacBook! After transitioning from a PC to an iMac last year, we decided we wanted to add a more portable version of the iMac to have downstairs to do simple daily tasks, such as managing our finances, reading emails, and surfing the web. We received good advice from the Best Buy/Apple rep to purchase this version of MacBook after evaluating our basic needs. It is very light, yet built very solidly. The screen is the perfect size and quality for what we need it for. The performance of the machine has been very solid. Best of all, the battery seems to last quite a long time before needing recharging. This MacBook has been a great purchase for us and we would highly recommend it.

It's light, thin and pretty darn fast. I'm not a Apple product lover but I have to admit this is a good laptop. In research I found it to be one of three top available laptops at this size and price range. The Asus UX305, the Dell XPS 13 and the Macbook Air. I ended up choosing this one because it was a gift for my girlfriend and she owns several Apple products already. Apple makes it easy to stay within in their ecosystem. I'd recommend it to anyone needing a day to day laptop and definitely to someone already entrenched in Apple-land. Credit is due.

Put off purchasing this laptop for the longest time, then finally decided to bite the bullet when the new 2015 model came out. Why did I wait so long??? Spectacular battery life (I can go almost 2 days on a charge), perfect screen size, and super fast! I am a computer engineer so I use multiple heavy programs at once and it never lags! I use it while laying in bed sometimes and I never feel the bottom start to heat up (like some other laptops). The backlit keyboard is amazing when the lighting is low in the room. I dont have a single bad thing to say about this laptop! Definitely worth the investment. I know this will last me at least 10 years!
