The MacBook Air is a great laptop and is a great product for the price. I di a lot of research on the difference between this one and the MacBook Pro and the MacBook and finally realized that since I was not a big gamer that I did not really need the MacBook Pro and that the Air would do me just fine. I love the lightness of the product and how fast it charges which by the way it doesn't require a charge very often. I had a iMac before and had an external backup drive so it was very easy to move over all my items using time machine which was another plus. I also found out that you can only move over specific items like music and pictures so you don't take up too much memory and keep everything on the back up still which was another plus for me. Still getting use to the keyboard it is a little smaller than my HP that I use for work but I did get use to not having a mouse faster than I thought. All and all it was a great purchase at a great price.

I gave up my old MacBook Pro a year ago and went with a PC. I regretted that decision and came back to Apple by purchasing the MacBook Air. I already have a work comp so this was primarily my internet surfer, media player, and airplane movie player. If is just as good as my old Pro with one caveat; the memory. I really wish Apple allowed for expanded memory but I guess we just got to roll with it. The laptop is small, light, and very slim. Battery life is great and it's a solid construction. What more could you really ask for?

I bought this laptop for my daughter as a graduation present and getting ready for college. Our house has 3 other macs in it, and they typically run very well and require very little IT support (otherwise known as Dad's support). This laptop is very light, portable, and most importantly has a great battery life. One drawback you will need to consider is that all recent macbooks do not have a Kensington lock slot, so you will have to find other ways to protect it from theft when not in use (lock it up in a desk or locker). OSX Yosemite runs very well with only 4GB of RAM for typical daily usage, and much of the good performance comes from the Air having a solid state hard drive.

Bought this for my daughter as her college laptop. I was swayed much by the online reviews, then even more by the information shared by the Best Buy associate, and even further once we got it home and had time to work with it. Super fast, love the size of screen and weight, and the battery life is superb.

I had a Lenovo touchscreen laptop prior to this purchase. After months of frustration with the Lenovo, I decided to just get the MacBook Air (which is my second Macbook). It's such an awesome computer! The startup is fast, it's easy to use and perfect for the basic stuff. The battery also lasts a really really long time which is nice. I use it mostly for surfing the web, streaming videos, studying/homework/school stuff. It's so light too! So, it's perfect for carrying around. After researching and looking around for the best price, Best Buy took first place (I'm UCSD staff, and BB still had a better price after the school's bookstore discount). I always recommend Apple products, they're just clean, fast, reliable products but in terms of where to buy them...I skip on going to the Apple Store and head to Best Buy first :)

i bought this computer before starting professional school. This was my first MacBook purchase, I was a PC owner previously. I couldn't be happier with my decision to switch to Mac!!! This computer is everything I want and need in a computer. The battery life is AMAZING. I use my computer pretty much all day long, and never need to charge it throughout the day. This means I don't have to worry about carrying a charger around with me all day!! I also love that it is super lightweight, so it doesn't weigh down my backpack, and it's super thin, so it doesn't take up much space either! I would highly recommend for anyone wanting a great, reliable laptop.

I couldn't believe how light this lap top was. It's very fast for the line of work that I do. Plus being an apple product it can communicate with all my other electronics. If there is a down point would be that it has no D drive. Other than that it's been really good. Battery life it's insane I can go two to three days without charging it avg use about 4-5hrs per day.

I bought this for my wife for Christmas. I had actually started with one of those amazing black friday sale items but, upon her first opening the and starting up the laptop, could tell she did not like it. I took it back the next day and bought her this Macbook Air. Just a little history on my family, we have been Windows people, at least for computers, for years. It's all I know and therefore just always bought Windows PC's for our devices. For phones and tables we have been Apple people, however. So far I've only bought two Apple laptops in my life, this one plus a Gold Macbook for my daughter for college over the summer. I didn't really get much time with the Macbook but based on well my daughter likes hers I figured my wife might also like it. Boy, was I right. I've often thought these laptops were overpriced for the specs, and in some ways they are. However, the OS seems to run extremely smoothly, no hiccups or lockups, and the battery life is amazing. The build quality is fantastic, very high quality and durable, and the device is very light. The screen on this is not as nice as on my daughters Macbook but this is also about $500 less than that. Aside from the aesthetics and speed of the OS, one of the things my wife likes so much is the integration with the iphone/ipad. She can respond to and send texts on her PC as well as Facetime video calling. All those can be done from within the laptop and calls and text notifications show up on the laptop. Some may be well aware of this integration but we were not. Apple products are great, high quality and work very well. But the thing that really sets it apart is the Apple software ecosystem that is so elegantly integrated together. Highly recommend this.

MacBook Air is the perfect balance between a tablet and Desktop. Plenty powerful to handle all of our family's daily activities, with the added benefit of ultra lightweight, slim, and perfect design. Can go wrong with Apple.

This Laptop is great for everyday usage. If you need something that can handle heavy duty stuff such as extreme photo editing, video editing, gaming; then I would suggest going with something else. Aside from that, this is a very well rounded machine with great battery life, portability, and performance. The only downsides are the limited hard drive sizes available, 128GB and 256 GB sizes, and the screen resolution not being at least 1080x1920. I have an iPhone 6 that's a 128 GB model and I'm constantly running out of space on it, I hope that the portable hard drive and cloud based storage will be as inconvenient as possible.

The MacBook Air is a fantastic laptop-- lightweight, super fast, extremely long lasting battery life. Though criticisms abound about the lack of higher quality display, only those who game would notice any difference, in my opinion. I have had iPads since 2010, so I knew about Apple product quality. After having HP Elitebooks for a decade, I was somewhat concerned that the transition from Windows to OS X would be difficult. But after a month of using this laptop I am thrilled by my decision to go with Apple which provides fantastic support, high quality products and upgrades the operating software frequently.

As a rising college student, I compared models for awhile; pros vs. cons, benefits vs. cost, etc. I ended up deciding on this model upon testing it out at the store and acquiring several previous macbook owners opinions. Many agreed that the models last, as long as the user takes care of it. The programs are easy to use, settings easy to change, and the battery life is long. It's a fairly simple computer to use and it serves me well. FYI: I used several dell models in the past 4 years, all of which were used for school work and they all eventually slowed down, or lacked an element which I wish they had.

I had my reservations after my Macbook Air (13", 2011 model) failed just under two-years and outside the warranty period. However, the Macbook Air is in a class of it's own and I decided to give it another try. It syncs seamlessly with the iPhone and iPad. The construction is rigid and durable, and feels very comfortable in the hands. It's lightweight, sleek, and has Apple's signature contemporary look. The battery life is excellent and provides over 10 hours of light use (no games or media), which no other computer in its class can compare to. The App store and Itunes Store are also great. The Macbook Air meets or exceeds our expectations for our needs including portability, long battery life, solid construction, and performance.

I bought the Macbook Air after using a Sony laptop throughout college and, so far, it's been great. It's lightweight but still feels sturdy. It looks really sleek and, ergonomically, is very comfortable to use. My favorite part of the Air is the trackpad which is much more comfortable to use than many of the touchpads of other laptops. Thus far, I haven't had problems with my hand cramping up like it used to. My biggest concern was that it wouldn't be able to hold up when using bigger programs like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, but the Macbook Air does just fine.

When my trusty old original MacBook from '07 was on it's last leg- I knew I wanted to stick with Apple. I have had my new MacBook Air for nearly three months now and do not have a single complaint. It is sleek, light, and runs flawlessly. I had worries about it being super hot on the bottom due to how thin it is- but the salesman assured me that wasn't going to be an issue. Guess what? He was right. Doesn't even get warm. I use by MacBook everyday and love it. Completely satisfied. I just hope this one last me as long as my old one did.

This is really one of Apple's best products. Extremely light and compact, yet a rather powerful machine. The 128GB internal drive is a bit small for my needs so I purchased an external 256GB SDD that I run into a USB 3.0 port. With this, I can run Logic Pro, off load all my iTunes library, and any other high volume storage data to the external drive. The external drive is so fast it is about transparent. I can use this machine to do multitrack live recording without an issue. Can it do all the heavy lifting that my Mac Pro can do....of course not. But as an extremely portable device it will blow away any similar machine running windows. With this I almost don't need my iPad anymore!

In usual form, mac has produced a fast, lightweight, easy "touch" laptop with a frustrating lack of bells and whistles.. IF you choose the latest greatest solid state drive, then memory comes at a premium... Some of the tradeoffs smell less like logic and more of planned obolescence; however, in turr mac form, this laptop is fast, dependable if not frustratingly different than the last.

My other PC laptop has seen better days. I was always a Mac fan and decided to get the Mac Air 13" screen. Looked at the Mac Pro but notices the only real difference was the DVD drive. I don't remember the last time I needed to use one so I chose the Air. It's lighter also. Fast, great screen and since there are no moving parts the battery lasts verrry long. Me: web news browser, MS Office user (Word mostly), Movie watcher. My young son can't get enough of the "Photo Booth" application. PS I used my Student Discount and got $100 off price.

I have always used Apple products so it made perfect since when my older model laptop became too heavy to lug back and forth to school that I went to the new smaller model MacBook Air. The 13.3 screen is a perfect size. The weight of the computer makes it easy to put into a tote bag or backpack. I added Office Home & Student 2015 for Mac which works perfect for the studies I am currently enrolled in. I did not need all the extras the MacBook Pro came with so I choose MacBook Air. I have owned this computer and have had no problems to this date. I solidly recommend this computer to anyone who needs a reliable computer that is easy to tote around.

Very pleased with the product. Love its fast startup compared to PC. It's battery life is excellent and it conserves it every time when cover is closed... so it can truly be used as a portable device and not have to be tied to the cord. Ergonomically it is more appealing than any other laptop/notebook. No significant heat from the unit to keep you sweating in the summer. Getting used to the Mac OS but have already come to appreciate the human factors. Was concerned about the smaller 13" screen but feel its just right.
