I changed to Mac after 30 yrs of PC use. Still have Pc at home, Mac is for work. I do wish I had gotten a bigger screen. Still trying to get use to a few items that I KNOW are able to be adjusted for more convenience, but it was an easy transition once I got my Apple account set up which I didn't have, and the Microsoft account set up for updates to the Office program I had installed. But actual use for work went smoothly transfer of files from Laptop PC to my Mac was smooth no glitches found. I am very satisfied with this products. On another thought.. At this time in technology, I have begun to hear LESS advice to change to Mac.. the price difference is significant and I am being told, not really worth it..... Even from users, and tech people they are saying it is a matter of preference, more than actual better technology. Some things it does better, some things PC does better....

    Great laptop for kids

I got tired of buying the super cheap (<$250) Windows machines for the kids, with 32 or 64GB. They kept trying to update themselves and constantly asking you to upgrade Windows. Then the hard drive didn't have enough space and wouldn't let you update it anyway. Decided to "splurge" on MacBook Air instead when it was on super sale, and it is worth every penny. Haven't had any issues, and it's not constantly giving the kids headaches and costing me time to figure out what is wrong. The only thing I wish is that this series had Retina display, but that's just me. And for the price point, the lack of Retina is ok. The kids' use doesn't really require Retina display anyway with the school websites they use.

I have been a Mac person since I owned an Apple IIe. I like this little MacBook. Great features but a couple of things to be aware of first. 1) there is only 1 USBc port on the computer so you need something that will allow you to still use any other USB connection while the USBc is being used, if you have other USB devices that you need. 2) the screen seems to not stay exactly locked in the place you want to have it and it will sometimes fall fully open. 3) The touch pad is in a place that seems to be a problem for my typing that when I type the slight graze of it will move the cursor and will then begin typing in the middle of something you did not want (it has done that twice in this message). Other than those issues it is a nice Mac and better than the AirBook.

I tried to talk her out of it because of the price, but she chipped in towards it. We bought it on sale, but once you add Apple Care the price was back up to almost $1000. Glad we had the Apple Care though because some keys were sticking within a month or two. Pain in the neck to go to the Apple Store. We had to go three times before they sent it out to get keyboard replaced. Then we had to go back to pick it up. I would not recommend a “butterfly” keyboard. My daughter wishes she had bought a Windows based laptop like the one her sister chose. We thought about selling this one, but the prices have dropped and she wouldn’t get much for it since it’s already almost a year old.

Best Buy sent me a discount for my birthday and I decided to reward myself with a brand MacBook Air. The MacBook Air has many features that help to create a professional relationship with my students as a teacher, such as the following: a brilliant Retina display, Touch ID, the latest-generation keyboard, and a Force Touch trackpad. The all-day battery life is a total WIN-WIN for me. Clearly, the "MacBook Air is your perfectly portable, do-it-all notebook," as the Mac advertisement states. As an online instructor, my Mac is my portable classroom, creative tool, and music maker. This was the best birthday gift ever! Thanks BEST BUY!

Coming from a frustrating Windows 10 machine that did nothing but lag or try to update itself for hours and hours, I was a little nervous switching an entire platform. Luckily, macOS isn’t too foreign of a UI if you’re patient during the setup process and practice learning gestures and software. It’s got loud speakers, a decent screen (seriously, it’s not as bad as reviewers make it out to be), a beautiful design, and pretty snappy performance for everyday tasks. If you’re like me and just need a machine for Word/Excel processing, web browsing, and some light gaming, this will do you just fine. It’s still far superior to netbooks and machines used at most schools and businesses. Since it’s the 2017 model, you should expect it to receive software updates for a good while, and not have problems with drivers getting messed up, unlike Windows 10.

Apple has the worst Customer Service and if you have to bring it in to the Genius Bar - Good Luck to get an appointment that is a week out!!!! Machine has shut down randomly and rebooted. This computer was sent in for repair and sent back to me with the same issue!!!! Frustrating and very upsetting when your child is off to college with an old computer that is slow because they couldn’t fit us in before he left and they would not let me mail the computer back in the box they just sent me 2 days ago from the same repair! They had to send me a new box (more waste of days). Buyer beware!!!! Shaking my head!!!

I picked this up on sale for 799 which I thought wasn’t bad. I have an iPad mini 4 and use iPhone but always had a Windows PC. I do software development and use PC’s frequently but I wanted something different for portability. This was a good choice for me because I’m not doing anything graphic intensive with it, I have a PC for that, and for the price it was hard to find anything laptop-wise with the battery life, RAM and SSD you get from the MacBook Air. It goes great with my other portable Apple products. I use this for doing Java and some productivity software on the go and I’m more than happy. If you’re a Mac person, you know you’ll love it. If you’re a PC person and want to try a Mac, this is a good start.

Every two years (or less) we are replacing our $300 or less Windows laptops. We wanted some less than the standard 15" screen for ease of travel. We talked about it, and decided "lets see if we pay more, if we'll get a better machine, maybe 3.5+ Years out of it" so we bought our first macbook. Thus far I am very pleased with it. Great battery life, boots pretty quickly, not a lot of bloatware that plagues windows laptops, and I like that the keyboard lights up! All we use the laptop for is MS Office, Web, and as we begin to travel, we plan to upload pictures. I am THRILLED with the size, and weight! Two down-sides- still getting used to MAC OS, (no big deal) and I was hoping for a slightly nicer display... this one is fine, not a big complaint by any means, just not a lot of greatness if not looking straight at it. Otherwise I am happy!

This is my first MAC and I've been debating on the pro or air for years ! and decided to start with an Air for my basic needs, such as college and small business. I love the ease and flow of the keyboard. I have not had any issues with this. The screen is a little old fashion, which is expected but works for me. Does not create a glare like the other Apple products, while I am outside doing work. So far so good, I haven't found any issues with this computer as of yet ! The battery life is awesome ! I have traveled with my Air and used it frequently, and have not had to charge it for over 12 hours. With non-stop use It last a little over 8 hours.

I hadn't used an Apple laptop prior to this one. At first, I really couldn't get my touches on pad area to work. I was banging my fingers too hard. Once I figured out that the pad needed only a very light touch, everything works just fine. We're delighted with this laptop. It gives us another computer when one of us is using the desktop, and it travels with us for internet access in hotel rooms. The speakers produce a surprisingly clear sound, much appreciated by my aging ears. It looks thin but seems to be robust. I got it on sale when, as the previous years model, it was considerably discounted. I'm very happy with the savings with no apparent loss of functionality or quality.

I decided to go with a MacBook Air for my next computer purchase because I heard these laptops were reliable and easy to use. I think this is an understatement. I can use this computer all day without having to charge it as long as I do not put it on max brightness, it is great for video recording and editing for anyone looking to get started with that kind of stuff, and coming from a windows platform it was a little hard to get used to all of the different aspects, but once you do it makes going from one task to the next so much faster and more efficient. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a basic tool for browsing and recording. If you need more space you can always get a larger memory or an external hard drive, because it does fill up fast if you want to record videos.

I dont know how I lived without a Macbook Air before, The internet is super fast on it. The load times are cut by half compared to my old windows computer. Its small but mighty and easy to travel with. only negative was that the hinge and screen came defective out of the box but apple replaced it free of charge under the warranty. Chose this one over the newer model because the price point was good and I didnt need all the bells and whistles the new one came with. Even in comparison to the new 2018 macbook the older macbook air still seemed to glow brighter and feel better. Extremely happy with my purchase.

This is my second Apple laptop. My sweet little engine that could, white, plastic laptop powered through disk utility many times these last two years... I am not super computer or tech savvy by any means, but Apple products are generally easy enough for me to use. I was weary of purchasing the Air as opposed to a small MacBook. After some consultation with my phone-a-friend and the super helpful and patient sales person, I went with the MacBook Air. It was the numerous ports that were the deal breaker-I like port options. I use this computer for work. I usually have my browser, PowerPoint, and Word open while I am sending emails-there does not seem to be any slow down. It might be more computer than I need, but I am confident it will last another ten years. Kudos to Apple. Keep doing what you are doing.

The MacBook Air functions well above expectations. I was not impressed with the large dent and scratch located on it base. Would have returned but was in desperate need for this tool for my new job. No time to replace. Highly recommend Apple products, but more care needs to be put into quality control before item is packed for shipment. It is evident that the casing was damage before being packed for shipping. I purchased this at the store. Box showed no signs of damage whatsoever.

My aging Macbook Air (2011) was not cutting it with all the traveling I do for work. Having to plug in as soon as I arrive works occasionally, but really sucks at airports and conferences. I was looking at replacing it with a new Pro, but figured I really didn't need full horsepower when traveling, so why not look at an Air? This machine has surpassed every need I've had, and keeps up well! It's so much easier to toss it in a bag, and much lighter to carry. Not to mention the all-day battery life! It's great to go, go, go, and know it's going to keep up. I was a longtime Mac avoider because of the cost, but have since realized the cost is far worth it.

This laptop worked well for the time it actually worked. Logic board crashed just past my 1 year from purchase date. Even though this is a common issue among Apple discussion boards and Apple tech questions, Apple still has not issued a recall. Cost to fix? More than half the cost of the laptop if Apple fixes it for you. I didn’t purchase the AppleCare on it so I learned my lesson there, but I don’t know that I would purchase another one in the future even IF I splurged for the added expense of the Applecare. My Mac is now a paper weight collecting dust since September 2018.

I bought this almost three weeks ago because my work PC was starting to lag, shutting down randomly, etc. which I can't have when I'm actively working on something. I've wanted a Mac for a while and saw the deal at Best Buy and figured I'd check it out. There was a 15 day return on it so I figured that I had nothing to lose. I love it! I bought Office on my own and all of my files transferred with no problems. I had to re-do some very minor things, which wasn't an issue. There is a learning curve going from PC to Mac but I answered all of my questions via Google so it was all good. Absolutely love it and so happy I took the chance on buying it!!

As always, Apple delivers and we have 3 at home. Two Macbook Air and iMac. My daughter always uses her Macbook Air online and for school work. And I mean really uses it. it's been turn on almost every time when she is at home and battery holds up very good and ti get charged so quick. It is so light and the keyboards lights up, so no need to turn on the lights when using it at night. She has hers for almost two years now and it still function like new. When I finally decided to have a an Apple laptop, it's a no brainer to get the same thing. Just perfect. I know Apple products is always pricey but you just have to wait for the sale price to come and you won't regret it. This MacBook Air is just awesome.

The MacBook Air is a reliable and speedy computer that's as useful for work as it is for play. The only reason I'm giving it four stars (and maybe this isn't fair, but such is life) is because I'm still figuring out some things that were easy to do on a PC. The same features seem to be present here, but it's a big learning curve. For example: what replaces the right mouse click when you're using this device? Also, it's hard to get used to not having a numeric keyboard. AND...I used the migration assistant with my PC, followed the directions faithfully, yet cannot seem to locate the vast majority of my files from that machine. Other than that, I'm very happy. And if I resolve these and the other minor annoyances, I'll come back with a five-star update.
