This computer does everything you need and then some without all the gimmicks of more expensive versions. It's slimmer and lighter too. Don't get caught up with all the fancy additions of the Pro, just get yourself an Air and keep it easy breezy.

This is my second MacBook Air. I've always found them to be snappy computers. Great portability and battery power. Faster than most desktops I've used.

So I needed a new computer/laptop for a good couple of years now. I had a Lenovo G580- while good, it was nigh on 4.5-5 years old. So this time around I looked at the MacBook Air. I opted to get the one for $999 instead of $799 due to more space- I tend to download a lot of files so why not err on the side of caution? I'm used to having the 15.6" screen, but I'm actually good with the 13.3" screen- no major problems. I would highly recommend this laptop as the quality is better than a PC- sorry, I've converted from Android and PC to Apple with no regrets.

Recently my old 2008 MacBook died on me, so I updated to the MacBook Air. Much faster. Lightweight. And it runs Photoshop and Lightroom efficiently :)

The laptop is light, thin, mobile with plenty of storage room. I travel quite a bit and find that the 13" width of the screen is a great size for portability and large enough for great quality viewing. The light weight and thin thickness allows plenty of room for other things in your bag without adding tremendous weight.

I'd been putting off replacing my old MacBook (early 2008) for over a year waiting to see what Apple was going to do with the Air line. After it became clear they weren't going to do anything with it, I started shopping for an Air. Best Buy had the BEST PRICE! I really like the size (although I would have bought the 11" if I could have gotten it with 8GB memory) and the battery life. People talk about the screen but I have no problems with it and it's certainly better than my old MacBook. I hope this one lasts as long as the last one. So far, I love it!

a perfect laptop for me. large and powerful enough for personal and business use, but small enough to be easily portable. wish the keyboard was a little larger. the outside easily scratches but I bought a shell separately to protect it.

    Apple Does it Again

It's not surprise at this point that we can expect Apple products to be beautiful, intuitive, and high quality. This laptop was no exception. I bought this particular laptop because it was time to replace a MacBook Pro that was nearly 10 years old. The old Macbook was starting to slow down, and the OS was no longer supported by Apple, so we quite literally had to upgrade. So far this laptop has been a dream. Very fast and easy to use. Files from the old laptop transferred easily on to this one with the help of a flash drive. Would recommend.

Excellent machine/pricepoint to jump into a mac

I've used PCs forever, but decided to jump on the mac train because it was a great deal, and I wanted something with more portability. Now after a few weeks, I can't believe I didn't do so earlier. There has been no complications with using my android phone after downloading a simple file transfer app on the mac (can't make the full switch to apple, love android). Pro - battery is amazing...it feels so nice to liberated from the charger for most of my daily use,...I can get a full day use for most days between charges. To complement the excellent battery, love the fast start up with the mac. The trackpad is also legit, surprisingly easy to adjust to and also fast to use. Keyboard is also nice, considering that sometimes thin laptops skimp on the ergonomics for the keyboard to save thickness. Neutral - weight is somewhat a wash. There are now super portable options from many companies. My requirement was a normal clamshell computer +/- touch screen and the macbook air fits right alongside the other slim/portable options. Processor speed is decent, I have the i5 chip with 8gb of RAM, and it's sufficient for daily use. I don't crazy gaming or stats programs, so it's been fine. Some apps can take an extra 1-2 seconds to load, but it's not a biggie. Con - although rare, when the fan needs to come on, like during a game or more processor intense app...the fan is pretty loud. This coupled with somewhat lackluster speakers is kinda meh. Also, would be nice to have a type-c port to help with data transfers and mobile charging, but not critical (at this time at least). Otherwise, nothing else really comes to mind. As a one time thing, it's also a pain to use an external drive for both mac and PC, but the mac can read the PC format just fine to copy files, the mac just can't write onto a drive that's formatted for PC. Overall - love my decision to get the macbook air. The i5 and 8gb configuration works well for routine use. I was initially deciding between this and the HP spectre (as far as non-touchscreen goes), and I'm glad I went with the cheaper option that has better battery, similar portability, and faster/simpler boot-ups. Even if the spectre was at around the pricepoint and processor specs, I'm not sure if the real-world battery use would compare enough for me to pick the spectre (which does have better speakers and keyboard,...but only so-so trackpad).

I have had Macs in the past, and I will continue to be loyal to Apple. I love everything about this computer. It's sleek, but not so thin it feels like it will break. The battery life is amazing. The SSD makes startup almost too quick. With 8gb of RAM and 256GB SSD HD I'm getting a fast, fast computer and doesn't compromise on style or size. Having an iPhone and iPad also makes syncing up all my files/calendars/apps incredibly easy. I needed something that I could access my work files on too, and the Windows RDP app makes it so easy. Love, love, love.
