After not using Mac for a bit this is a refreshing return. This machine is stylish, light weight and performs well. If you are coming over from a windows computer there are a few things you must adjust to e.g. the typing experience - the keys are quite comfortable but not always as responsive as some windows machines; the auto correct is a little more intrusive though not as 'smart' as windows. There are also a little bit more limitations than windows machines like the media formats it recognizes and the number of USB ports etc, but if these things are not essential to your usage of the computer they will not be a hinderance to your enjoyment. The facade is not as confusing as windows 10. If you are now transitioning to Apple you will have to spend some time finding your way around, but once you get the hang of it, it's actually simpler. It is also a good alternative to the MacPro. If you really have no need for the for the additional features - this is not a step down, it is an appropriate fit. The battery life is good. Though it does not have a retina screen, the resolution is very good. The back light on the screen is pretty effective and easy on the eye (my mother prefers this considerably smaller screen to our new 17" windows laptop). The sound output quality is also quite good. If you purchase this machine and it's not the love of your life, it will be the next best thing. You won't be disappointed!

I purchased this laptop for work. So far and based on my experience it is one of the best available. Pros: Easy to use and set up, battery charges quickly and lasts all day, processor is speedy and is able to run multiple applications without issues, the design is slim and lightweight which makes it easy to carry around. Overall, I think the 13 inch MacBook Air is a great choice for students, or anyone for that matter. Based on my experience with Apple products, this laptop is likely to last for quite some time. I recommend this product.

Although many people advised me to go with the Pro, I think the Air is just as good. Being my first MacBook, I found it very easy to use!! It has a very sleek design to it, and I really love it's portability as I use it for my classes. Also I really like the long battery life, and I don't have to worry about running out of battery like I did with previous laptops. The different interface does take some getting used to, but overall I love the speed, design, and light weight of this powerful laptop.

I went back and forth a lot between the MacBook Pro and the Air and finally decided on the Air when it went on sale for $1,049 (Latest model with 256 GB Flash Storage/8 GB Memory). I have never been this happy with a laptop. It is extremely fast and the battery life is amazing. The battery is currently at 55% and it is showing that it has 6.5 hours left on the current charge but the time keeps going up. If you are dead set on having the retina display or you need more than two USB ports, go with the Pro. I thought the Retina display would be nice but I have played several videos on my Air since purchasing it and I have been extremely pleased with the display quality which was one of my only concerns. The Air has been really fast (much faster than our 2012 Pro with 500 GB Hard Drive/4 GB Memory) and is extremely light. I would recommend this to anyone looking to purchase a new MacBook.

So excited to be back to a mac. My business world is all PC so I thought that would be the right way to go, but I finally realized that mac is where I started computing and is where I will stay. I did a ton of research and purchased a MacBook Air. I ordered online and picked up at the store. Best Buy made it really easy. It was ready when I arrived and I was out in 5 minutes. Positives: Lightweight Fast Battery charge lasts a long time intuitive to use, especially if you have other apple products Seamless integration Lots of storage one tiny Negative: Some of the commands (close, minimize) are really small. I am sure I will figure out how to make them bigger, I just haven't taken the time to do it.

I love the quality and not having as many worries over security. I enjoy the user friendliness. Even though it is user friendly, there is still a learning curve switching from Windows to Mac. From shortcuts to reformatting files as PDFs so that Windows users can read your documents. It's really kind of fun though, finding all the neat little tricks. Sometimes I get annoyed at having to adjust security settings to view stuff from websites that I trust, but it's still worth it. Also, this Mac works for my online college classes. It is still lightweight and sleek in the durable STM rugged deluxe computer case we bought separately for it.

I got this laptop because I am a first year college student, and I need something fast, up-to-date, and reliable. This laptop does all of that and more. The size is perfect, I bring it to college everyday and it is super light. It just feels like another paper notebook in my bag. It is an extremely fast laptop, I was so shocked with the speed, it is amazing! I feel very current with technology now, because at college Apple laptops are everywhere. There is nothing bad I can say about this laptop, this is the best laptop I have ever had and I will stick with Apple laptops forever. Coming from using a windows laptop, I had no problem adapting to this laptop. I absolutely recommend it!

Our high schooler wanted (needed) a personal laptop for school. We looked a refurbished units and compared all the features and decided on this unit. It is powerful enough for school, light enough to transport and has enough storage for growth.

I had been a Windows guy ever since I bought my first PC around 1995 or so. I recently returned to college to finally finish my degree, and I needed a laptop that was light and dependable. I have friends who swear by Apple products, but I've always avoided them because I guess I'm a creature of habit. And I'd always been put off by what I perceived to be their "inflated" prices, too. But I always do my research, and I realized that the vast majority for the highly rated Windows laptops cost just as much or were pricier in some cases. So I took the plunge and bought my MacBook Air. I haven't regretted it for a second! There wasn't as much of a learning curve as I expected. This thing is a joy to own. It's fast, light, and dependable. Plus it's just a beauty. I now understand why people swear by these computers. They're a great value for the price, too.

I love how portable the MacBook Air really is. I can take it with me to work, meetings, school, anywhere and it fits in my purse. Its pretty light weight, but powerful at the same time. Allows me to run multiple programs and do research while I am doing homework for class without lagging or slowing down. It came with pages, numbers and keynote, which saved me about 150 in software. It did take a little while to get used to since I have worked with PC laptops for about the last 15 years. However, I have owned iphones, ipods, and ipads since the iphone4. It just made sense to have the whole family be mac compatible. Super happy with my purchase, I love my MacBook Air.

If you need a laptop for web surfing, writing, office documents, making presentations, or pretty much anything besides heavy 4k video editing and intense gaming, this is the laptop for you. It's incredibly thin, light, the aluminum body is sturdy, the keyboard keys have a great touch, the touchpad has the best feedback in the industry, averages about 10 hours of battery life, and even has decent speakers. The only real knock on it is the outdated screen, which isn't really bad at all, but nowadays laptops in this price range usually come with something with a much higher resolution. However, it's a bright IPS panel that displays 1080P and looks good doing so. I did consider the Dell XPS 13, which is probably it's biggest competitor, but personally Apple's OSX is the best operating system around. Things just work, it has a friendlier user interface, and unfortunately you can't get it on anything else unless you go through the trouble of making a "Hackintosh". Sure, some will complain that you can't upgrade it (a fair critique) and that it doesn't have as many software options as Windows, but for 99% of what maybe 97% of people generally use a laptop for. this will do it and do it well.

I'm very happy with my Macbook Air. It's fast, light, and easy to use. I have migrated over to Apple products over the past few years and this compliments my other equipment. It doesn't have the Retina display but still looks great. The battery life is also incredible. I would buy it again and crew at Best Buy helped me with any questions I had.

I had purchased this computer for my granddaughter who is off to college starting summer semester. She was very pleased with the amount of storage, as well as memory. This will take her all the way through medical school. She was especially pleased that it was the Air model, for it's lighter than the Pro, and easier to carry around. Will be buying the clear hard shell case for extra protection, which is not part of the package.

We recently purchased this laptop for our son for school. The battery life is amazing, and the performance is ample. The portability of the macbook air is probably its strongest suit, combined with battery life, it makes it the perfect high performance laptop for a students needs. Only issue I would change is higher resolution screen.

My 1st experience with Apple notebook - Wow

I've used IBM-compatible notebooks for years, many brands Dell, Lenova, etc. .....but decided to buy into the Apple ecosystem and move away from IBM-compatible given the family's ever-increasing Apple centric devices wtih iPhones and iPads. This model is powerful enough to do advanced MS Office applications and they are almost a seamless transition from the IBM-compatible version of Office to the Mac version. I stuck w/ a MacBook instead of an iPad because of the essential need of a mouse and connections to external devices. For email and Internet, Google Chrome was identical in the implementation to use on the Mac vs. my IBM-compatible world. What an elegant package Apple has created with this notebook, just like their iPhones. The quality of the design is evident at first touch and noticeable every time I open and use the computer. Super light, lots of synergies with our other Apple devices that are beyond my expectations, and the transition from IBM-compatible to Apple OS was not too much at all in the end to get through. So glad I made this purchase after seriously being on the fence for this MacBook Air vs. a Surface Pro. Won't go back, now I'm Apple computer for life

I started out with a Macbook Mobile laptop. Loved razor thin size, lightening speed processor but keyboard is not smooth to the touch. Sadly, 3 days straight, the computer froze so returned it to Best Buy for the Macbook Air. Love it. Fast processor, lightweight and keyboard works just like my old Macbook Pro. Very satisfied customer.
