As has been true since it was released, the Air is a rock solid lightweight performer. For a normal user who won't need raw power, it has great battery life and will do all you need. Only negative is that it hasn't been significantly updated since 2012, so is a bit long in the tooth.

We own iPhones, iPad, and previously owned a mac book. This purchase was an up grade to a faster laptop with more storage.

I still believe Mac products are overpriced, but appreciate the advantages they have over PCs. And, I was able to grab the 256gb version for $899 during a brief online sale... I suspect the prices on these may come down in the future, as the newer models are introduced. The MacBook Air model has not been upgraded for quite sometime, so perhaps this is what keeps it below $1000. The unit is a very good performer, especially with the SSD drive, so if you're looking for a decent Mac, I would definitely recommend it. Unfortunately if you're looking for the higher processing power to use for graphics or video work, you'll have to spend a whole lot more for the MacBook Pro. If you don't actually need a Mac, you can save a lot of money with a PC with equal or better specs. If you're just looking to browse the web & other basic functions, consider a Chromebook... I know some people hate these, but I love the one we have (Also from Best Buy)... so much faster, easier, & trouble free.

This MacBook is very lightweight and easy to use. This is my third one to purchase within the family. Highly recommend.
