My daughter is headed off to college and needed a laptop. After doing a little research (which consisted mostly of talking to her friends), she decided on the MacBook Air. The staff at Best Buy was very helpful and assisted her in determining which version would be best for her. Giving the product a 5 because it is exactly what it presents itself as. I am a PC guy so it wouldn't be my choice but you can't argue with the success of Apple.

Excellent choice for laptop, really lightweight & perfect for travel. Apple is always my first choice because of the quality & nice sharp look & design the only downfall is that its always gonna be a bit more expensive. But you pay for what you get.

I've had this model a few times in the last year or two... bought, sold to friends, tried out other models and ended up buying it again... I love Apple products because they are reliable and durable... only gripe I really have is that the screen could have been refreshed this year, but looks like they only upgraded a few things... but nonetheless, its still a good buy! If you can live without an HD Retina screen, then this is for you...

I got it when it was $200 off, which I think it is right now. Just the right size and weight.

Would have gotten 5 stars, but there were a couple issues that had to be resolved (as is the case with most new models released each year). Fortunately, you get a few weeks of apple help for free with the computer, so I was able to fix the problem after about an hour and a half on the phone. The selling point for me was that they upgraded the processor to 8GB, and I have had nothing but good things to say about this computer since fixing the initial problem. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to spend the money. The only complaint I have is that the hinge for the screen is not strong enough- with the plastic case that I bought for the macbook air, the screen weighs just barely too much and it tends to open fully when you life the laptop into the air. Very minor complaint, and it would not influence my decision to get this computer again.

We are so pleased with my son's new computer. He has been using a school issued mac book air since middle school, and is now going off to college in the fall with his new , very own computer! Its like having a brand new / " old friend" . We are grateful for the expert and kind service that we received at Best Buy while making this most important purchase, and investment in his future !
