Rambling incase Apple decides to read this.
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this in the summer of 2020.....brand new release.....then a better one came out five weeks later. I give on trying to keep up. I wish that they hadn’t removed the usb port. Its still a thing, ya know? I am over dongles. The slim feature is nice but whats the point when I need a bulky carrying case for THE DANG DONGLES?! Put the USB back. Im still trying to catch up my iphone model. Us poor students do not all have lightning connections. And why the heck did you get rid of the light up Apple. I finally catch up to a semi current model and you took away the pazazz?! (Insert eyeroll) These are little nit picky things that I hate, but overall I wouldn’t change it for a Windows computer. So I guess I’ll accept speed over the little things. But good lord, Apple, it’s not ok to release features bit by bit over a year. Just put all the new features on one for the year. Im afraid to buy a new one because two weeks later, the new one will come with levitation features. (Inserts another eyeroll) Anyways, its pretty ok. My 2015 did pretty much the same thing but a fingerprint reader thats cool, I guess.

Mac convert - which I had done it sooner
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tl;dr: If you're a Mac user, there's no insight I can give you. If you're a Windows/ChromeOS person wondering if you should switch, do it. I was so thrilled my review here ended up being 8 paragraphs.... I decided to cut most of it out and save it for a blog. The short story, I'm happy and wish I had done this sooner. More thoughts: I have light Mac experience prior to this purchase - mostly when I hopped on a client's computer at their office and they happened to have a Mac. It was always a little frustrating not knowing the shortcuts and I always seemed to unintentionally minimize windows and be unclear about how to get them back. Ha! Well, the main company I work with now is Mac based. They constantly send things via text/iMessage - and its clear they're on their computers while I'm struggling on my phone to keep up with the links and docs being sent around. Emailing the links they sent from my phone to my computer was honestly getting on my nerves. Now that I'm assisting with reviewing docs they create in Keynote and Pages as well, I reached my limit of trying to fit into their Mac world. Maybe its a dumb reason to switch operating systems, but it was the push I needed and I think I did it at exactly the right time. Apple really is its own little cult world. But if you're like me and you have Apple everything else (I already have the phone, watch, iPad and Pencil), just do yourself a favor, get the computer and complete the circle. And if you already have an iPhone or Apple account, setup will take you less than 5 minutes. Since I keep most of my files in Dropbox, transferring files isn't even something I had to do. I connected my Apple ID, downloaded Chrome (since 8 years of bookmarks and Google account preferences are there) and I was off and running. The main reason I held off of making the switch for years was the price - my thinking was always, well, if my PC goes bust, I can get two or three more for the same price. I still think that, BUT the cost was worth it on day one for helping me streamline my work life and personal entertainment/education/reading experience.

Another good investment
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a PC guy. This was my first Apple Laptop, though I've owned others like my iPhone 7 and XR. It took a little bit to adjust to, but it works great now. It's a quick little machine, super light weight too. I love the Touch ID feature. This is by far one of the smoothest and most secure laptops I've ever owned!

Great Computer
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first Mac (I’ve had PC/Windows my whole life) and I’m amazed at how simple the OS is. The computer itself is great quality; it’s very light weight, fast, and visually appealing.

Great for if you already have Apple products
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m usually an HP Laptop kind of person, and just switched to this. It takes some adjusting initially but it is very easy to navigate once you get the hang of it. This MacBook is also a lot slimmer (and lighter in weight) than all of my previous computers, making it less of a load to carry around to all of my classes. At first I was hesitant because I didn’t like the idea of my phone messages, pictures and notifications being connected and synced to my computer, but you can turn specific notifications off.

Now I Know Why..
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decided to go back to school and I wasn't about to deal with the inevitable issues that come with a PC. Figured if I'm willing to spend $500 why not make it $900 and perhaps enjoy the time spent on said device. Within the first day I was blown away. It's lightning fast no matter what I do, ridiculously light, has a brilliant display and the speakers are shockingly good. The keyboard has a nice feel, mousepad is legit, fingerprint scanner is also fantastic and in a really good spot. I was worried about switching OS but now I'm just plain excited to learn and play on this thing. Worth a shot! If it's not for you, you can always return it.

Love my Mac
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ve always used a PC, but was so unhappy with my last one and windows 10, I decided to try a MAC . What a difference! As an iPhone and iPad user it was so easy to use. Much faster than my Lenovo. Easy set up to connect to my printer. The printshop app works great. I wish I had done this years ago. The added cost (although I did get it on sale so not too bad) was definitely worth it. I highly recommend it. Oh, one other thing. To download my printshop, I had to go into Root. I found an apple tutorial that walked me through each step in layman’s terms so I had no trouble following. Love my MacBook Air!
