This MacBook air M2 is my first apple silicon Mac and I'm loving it! The laptop is so much lighter than my outgoing MacBook pro with Intel i7. I'm glad that magsafe has made a return as well as that was a missed feature on my old MacBook pro. I bought this MacBook on sale for $799 and think it is well worth the price, even with the newer M3 and now the M4 Chip hitting the market. I had read that the M2 is not too different from the M3 in terms of performance and daily use. I use my MacBook mainly for day to day tasks (email, excell, calendar, photos, social, e-commerce, etc) and for these, it is plenty quick. Apple has always been a cut above the rest when it comes to laptop design and using premium materials in their products. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase! 5/5.

Got this laptop for my wife's birthday and started playing around with it a little myself. I've been a windows user all my life, and the thought of using an Apple computer as being too limiting and inferior to windows. Moment I started playing with it I've loved it. The keyboard and trackpad are some of the best I've used on a laptop. The haptic touch trackpad is easily the very best. The battery life on this device is insane, and it easily lasts me two days. I'm the type of person to always stress about the estimated time remaining on windows, and disappointed to see it drop from 10 hours to 4 hours 54 minutes the moment you open a few Firefox tabs, and can say for a fact that the MacBook is far superior with battery management. As a prior gaming laptop enthusiast, I've personally used all of the following: Flow X13 and X16, ROG g14, g15, and m16, and the legion 7 slim. In order to make the battery life usable, I always found myself turning off all the bells and whistles, turning down refresh rate to 60hz, turning down the brightness to 20%, turning on battery saver, all culminating in a poor user experience. On Mac, while I can't run that many games, the more pleasant user experience plus the fact I can't run games had made me much more productive The notch is semi noticeable and makes it so that your tabs cannot maximize the screen space, but I'm fairly certain that even without including the space of the notch and menu bar, the display is still 16x10 which makes up for it. It's also not that noticeable in day to day use. While I am not in the apple ecosystem (have the 23 ultra, galaxy watch, and tab s8), I have found the user friendliness, good screen, nice keyboard and trackpad as well as battery life worth the switch, and the experience far better than on any comparable windows laptop. That concludes my apple pitch.

I got the base model M2 MBA as I move on from my 2015 i7 MacBook Air and had a bit of storage anxiety, but with ever improving iCloud drive integration I still have plenty of space after installing Office, Xojo, Rapidweaver and several other apps along with docs and photos. Changes in how other cloud services work in macOS 12.3+, including OneDrive, also improved how apps are stored. I have 2TB iCloud and 2x 1TB OneDrives and still over 100GB free on my 256GB base MBA. Anything I need just gets pulled down and anything you don't need is easily purged and left in the cloud. 10 years ago this would have been a bigger issues but with 5G phones and big tethering plans usually included (like the 40GB/mo tethering I get from T-Mobile), making use of Cloud on the go is seamless. But you do have the option to get 512+ storage if you are willing to pay the excessive money Apple is asking, but really, casual users just don't need it anymore. New MBA has a very good keyboard, much better than the old butterfly and a perfect trackpad as always. The screen, while just the regular 'liquid retina' is very bright with excellent contrast that is nearly as good as my Dell XPS 15's OLED screen. It is quite shocking really. M2 is very good on battery (on day 2 without charging) and very speedy, easily as fast as my previous i7 MacBook Air. Scaling options in macOS 12 and 13 beta make for plenty of screen space despite the 13.6" size. While the 256GB model, using a single NAND is slower than the 512GB dual NAND SSD, you don't really noticed it unless you have to move a lot of files and you aren't going to be doing that on a 256GB drive anyway, so don't let that negativity of 1400MBps vs 3000MBps storage be a distraction. Again, for casual users, you just don't hammer the SSD enough to notice any difference. With only 8GB of RAM I don't know what the longevity will be going forward as macOS gets bigger and bloated garbage electron apps continue their march overrunning native ones, but for now 8GB is plenty for casual use and basic dev work. This 8GB/256GB is perfect for casual users and students. If you are heavy in CS or video editing, then obviously this isn't the machine for you, but for the 90% that is everyone else, the new base model MBA is great.

This is my first Macbook, and I'm more than satisfied with my purchase. It's definitely the lightest and thinnest laptop I've owned, without compromising performance. I've heard about the premium feel of the keyboard and it's up to the expectations. The battery is incredibly durable, it can last up to 3 full days of work, classes and videocalls. The M2 chip is fast and powerful, and the 8GB of RAM is good enough for my use, even when having many Chrome tabs opened at the same time. I keep most of my files in an external drive and only reading documents on my MBA, so the 256GB of storage is no issue. I had used Windows for all my life, so it took me a while to get used to MacOS, and now I can appreciate its smoothness and versatility, especially the multi-touch gestures. The screen ratio is perfect for reading and work, resolution is superb and the webcam notch is a great alternative to keep my desktop organized. Integrated Face ID would have been ideal, but the Touch ID is reliable, it works 10 out of 10. I'm enjoying the quietness of not having a fan or a vent in my computer, so I don't have to worry about dust getting inside. The speakers sound great, not as bass as the MBP's, but the placement of the speakers gives the MBA a cleaner look. I bought it with discount so that's even better!

Best purchasing experience as always in Best Buy. Customer Care was good. The product is really good to use. Easy to carry around. It was very easy to setup. Display, keypad, touchpad was fantastic. Speed is perfect. Battery life is really good as expected.

Okay, so I finally got my hands on the new MacBook Air 13.6", and let me tell you, this thing is a beast! It's got the M2 chip, and man, it's super quick - everything just loads up in a flash. The screen is bright and sharp, and the space gray color? It's pretty slick. Movies look amazing, and the photos I edit pop off the screen. Plus, this baby doesn't even break a sweat, no matter how many Chrome tabs or apps I have open. 8GB memory might sound like not much, but it gets the job done, no lags at all. The 256GB SSD is decent for storage and boots up super fast. And the battery life? Just awesome! Lasts me all day, no problem. MacOS feels smoother than ever, and typing on the Magic Keyboard is a breeze. Only bummer is the two USB-C ports, might need to get an adapter, but honestly, no biggie so far. All in all, I'm seriously loving my new MacBook. Well done, Apple!

Absolutely flawless design and you can't beat the incorporation of the Apple ecosystem, the screen is bright and crisp and the battery life is excellent. The screen can be a little fragile, and some software applications especially in gaming may not work with the on board macOS.

The M2 is fast. Build quality is excellent. Light weight with great screen. Battery life is better than ANY intel.

Purchased the MacBook Air with M2 chip, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD in Space Gray. Impressed with M2’s speed and efficiency, seamless multitasking, and overall performance. Stunning 13.6” Retina display for work and entertainment. Lightweight design, sleek finish, exceptional battery life, comfortable keyboard, and Touch ID add convenience. Significant upgrade in every aspect, excellent value.

We bought this laptop for my mother-in-law. It is a 1000% better in every way to her prior laptop, and probably has way more power than she needs. Its very lightweight, and has 10+hrs of battery life. Keep in mind, the Apple silicon (M1, M2 chips) are SOOO much faster than the competition, that the level chips are still rocket ships. Of course, if you're doing heavy graphics, video encoding, or need to use >1 external monitor, then you'll need to step up to the MacBook Pro models.

Great battery life and speed. It is super lightweight and the M2 chip’s performance is amazing. Super worth it!
