Great machine. Replaced a 2019 MBP and this thing is much faster. Primarily used for photo editing in Lightroom and photoshop.

I'm a long time Mac user, and generally buy and hold. But I reluctantly decided to upgrade my 2020 MacBook Air since I was worried about price increases on anything coming from China in the new year. The price on the new computer was good, the sale was seamless and delivery was quick. The new M3 chip MacBook performs great, but I very much dislike the dark Midnight color. It shows every speck of dust and every fingerprint. So the new computer sale was good, but I feel I have to mention the trade-in program here since I couldn't find any other place to review it. I typically sell my used electronics privately, but I thought I would give the Best Buy Trade-in program a try this time. They offered a good amount, but less than I could have gotten in a private sale, however, I didn't have to go through listing it for sale, negotiating, and meeting strangers for sales exchange, so I felt like it was worth it. I carefully packaged my old computer, which was still in excellent condition, and sent it to the trade-in center. 7-10 days was the given time frame (in writing) for receiving payment. Well, 7-10 days came and went. Tracking indicated that the computer had been received. So I contacted customer service by phone for an update. They were friendly, but couldn't help me, so they gave me an email address and told me to send an inquiry. That is what I did. In response I received a long auto-reply stating in not-so-friendly terms that "we will not reply to any requests for updates" (in bold red caps), "Requests for a status update on a delivered item will not receive a reply" (in bold), and "UPS marking packages as being delivered does not guarantee that we have actually received the package". Huh? Really? I could have easily sold this computer privately for double what I was offered for trading it in, but now, Best Buy has my computer and are refusing to tell me whether they received it or tell me how long I might have to wait to find out. If they are backlogged or overwhelmed, fine, I get it, but at least have the courtesy to say something like, "We're very sorry for the delay. We understand your trade-in is important to you. Someone will reply to you within 24 (or 48, or whatever) hours", because that auto-reply with its bold, red lettering gave some ugly, sketchy vibes. I was being yelled at for asking about something that belongs to me - at least until they pay me for it. I do not recommend this trade-in program and I wish I hadn't used it.

This battery lasts twice as long as the previous M2 chip model! The graphics are eye-popping and it is overall one of my favorite purchases to date from Best Buy!

Not our first MacBook and not our last. Easy to set up, user-friendly and works great.
