I was led to believe the MacBook was the best laptop out there. And it is great for syncing with your other Apple products - iPhone, iPad, etc. - or at least in theory. Unfortunately, I was oh so wrong! Besides the ridiculous amount of differences between a PC and a Mac (many of which are way more user-friendly on a PC), I had constant overall connectivity and Cloud issues since I took the computer out of the box. I spent several days troubleshooting all the issues with very little success. And good luck with the document transfer from PC to Mac - another fun project. Long story short, if you appreciate the simplicity and user-friendly components of a PC with a smaller price tag (for the same power, storage, etc.), then do not buy a MacBook.

First I want to say that at the Modesto Best Buy I was help by a gentleman named Roman, and he definitely knows his information, and gives a very good and honest opinion, without talking down a product. No matter where you are, if you have questions or just want some very good information, or comparison, I HIGHLY recommend calling and asking for Roman! He definitely is an expert at his job and is very nice and will help you find exactly what you want!! As for the MacBook Pro, I absolutely love it. It has a very nice and visible screen, ultra thin and light, but durable! The battery life is very good and it is very quick.

I love the laptop and the operating system. I own Apple everything. Before purchasing I read that there was negative reviews and Apple admitted to keyboard issues... well I’m glad I did not toss my windows PC because 2 weeks after purchase one of the keys started sticking... went to Apple again they admitted to knowing there was a problem and I will be 1 week without a laptop for repairs, so pulling old faithful Asus out of the closet. Had my Asus 5 years. I only switched because the battery life has dwindled and the touch pad is hard to work with now, I use an external mouse for my sanity

This is my first MacBook. I've been using Windows based laptops for over 20 years. I've been wanting to transition over to Mac, but was worried I wasnt gonna be comfortable with Mac OS. Let me tell you, the worry is gone, this Macbook runs like a champ. The transition from windows was alot easier than i anticipated, actually its better and more simplistic...in a good way. Its fast, smooth, and intuitive. The battery life is good, the sound quality is surprisingly dimensional and loud, and the display is crisp and bright. I love how responsive and quick it is. No more lag or long loading times. This Macbook Pro exceeded my expectations, and I will probably never go back to a Windows based computers.

Doing some research later on I found out that the new base model of MacBook is actually slower in processor speed than the previous version (Retina) and a lot of other useful features have been removed such as USB A, Mini Display port, Magsafe is no longer used to charge as this MacBook only comes with 2 USB C ports. If you need to charge you're left with one port, which you will likely need an adapter for since many devices connect through the old USB A port. So in summary if I need to charge my MacBook and want to use multiple USB devices I will need a USB C to USB A adapter, as well as a USB Hub to connect multiple devices. This forces you to carry around a lot of extra adapters.

After being stuck with a few other styles/brands that were cheap and easy, I quickly grew frustrated with all their various interface quirks. With my MacBook Pro I am amazed at all the built in features and ease of accessing things I need. I am a blogger so the size of memory was somewhat daunting but a quick fix was an external hard drive which is honestly more convenient! The lack of USB ports may seem off putting if you are transitioning to Apple's newer models, however you will find amazing plug in bars and converters. Personally I love that I don't have a zillion empty plugs waiting for dust to find its way in. Everything about this is perfect for my blogging, photo editing, and just basic school and work functions!

This is my first time owning a Apple Laptop computer . My past 4 laptop have been PC , all of them died on me . I wanted to make an investment purchase on a laptop that would last for years and years. After speaking with friends who have Apple laptops (one friend has had hers for 10 years with no issues) I decided on the Apple laptop. The only other Apple products I have is an Iphone and a Ipod so I was somewhat familiar with the software of Apple. The setup was easy and I've had it for only about one month, but so far no issues. The best part is no annoying bloatware programs that you get with a PC.

I purchased this laptop for my daughter of course all kids are into the Apple products they love them the product works well as expected with most Apple products but Apple products are way too expensive you can get the same processor RAM and memory and comparable quality products from HP Lenovo Microsoft excetera for half the price again the product works well but as far as I'm concerned you're really paying the money for the name not the substance if you want it because it says Apple great if you want a laptop that's powerful for half the price by something else that doesn't have an apple on it

Being a Windows PC user for 25+ years, I finally decided to switch to Apple. I am surprised how easy it is to make that change. Turned it on, customized a few things, transferred all my bookmarks, contacts etc., and it worked right away as expected. I love the size, long batterie life and light weight. Starts much faster than a Windows Laptop. I am not so happy that Apple switch to USB-C, and that I now need an adapter to plug in my external HD and other devices, but that adapter is only $19, no big deal. I wished Apple would have kept the media card slot, but I will get used to that too. The trackpad is very responsive, the display is awesome, the rest is a learning thing for me.

Apple is such a well rounded and trusted brand. I already have a iMac which I use for music making and video editing so when I purchased the MacBook Pro for my wife so she could edit on the go, we were not let down as the transition from desktop to laptop seemed minimal. The MacBook Pro is just as powerful and fast as the iMac, and even handles multitasking without slowing down other programs. The battery life is good the sound is incredible. My only complaint besides no USB, is that memory storage can go fast, as you would expect for a laptop, however thats why their are external hard drives. In all if this is a computer your are looking into for editing or creating music by all means pick this up.

This is by far the best apple macbook for someone in budget. Yes the Macbook Air is offered for 300$ cheaper yet for the quality of this product, the bright and crisp display, sturdy built quality, quality of parts and finish and overall its the latest generation processor with the latest deisgn. I suggest you go for this or the 256 GB model to save money and still get the same experience rather than going for the touch bar model which is a little expensive if u are on a budget. Prefferred over the Air as I have both for different purposes! Highly recommend product and combined with the best prices at bestbuy, it is a bang for the buck !! Bestbuy service is always excellent!!

Build quality is astounding. Only two USB-C has been no big deal. Incredible speakers. Yes, the 128GB is slower than the larger Macbook Pro SSDs, but I really haven't noticed. Screen is colorful, clear, bright, and causes no eye strain. With the deep optimization between the hardware and Mac OS, it has plenty of power. I've been editing 4K GoPro footage in iMovie with no problems at all. Stays cool and quiet except when it renders, just gets little warm and the fan comes on lightly for a minute, impressive for a dual core. Got it for $1175 on sale and feel like I got a lot for the money. Can't say all Macbook Pros are a good deal, but this one certainly is.

Its took a little while for me to come back over to the Mac family but I'm definitely glad I did. This computer can keep up with not only the daily demands I put on it for work purposes, but also my music creation needs. Its quick and responsive and even the screen size works perfectly for my needs. My only complaint would be the lack of more ports for multiple connections. Its suggested by most to purchase the extra dongle to add more ports for ease of use; however I feel that on a computer with this price tag and other great features that Mac would want you to be able to connect to the wide array of devices offered not only by them but in the tech world.

I bought this version of the Macbook Pro solely to edit photos in the desktop version of Lightroom Classic CC on the go. Mainly for the Retina Display. I was a bit hesitant because of the basic specs, but I knew it would probably do just fine for my needs. And boy, does it deliver. Not only is it the perfect portable size, but it packs the perfect amount of power to run Lightroom from import to export without missing a beat. I don't notice any difference from my way better spec'd out PC. Like I said, the most in going to push it is casual photo editing. I don't edit video or anything more demanding. I couldn't be any more happy with this purchase. Hope this helps!

Bought this macbook as a black friday deal and also upgrading from an older macbook that was dying. Overall with the upgraded specs it is one decent laptop as always from apple. Using the new butterfly keyboard takes getting use to coming from the original keyboard but otherwise no problems here. The lack of ports however which only uses two thunderbolt 3 ports is quite troublesome because I have to carry around a dongle but it is still worth it though. If you are buying this laptop for school this should definitely be your first to buy and use, just make sure you buy a dongle too.

Battery recharges quickly, but discharges even more quickly. Hate the idea that you just cannot leave it plugged into the power supply. Power supply cord is too short. Touchpad is too sensitive: very cranky to use. Software is an abomination. Do most of my work on an old Mac with Office 2010 because it is easier to use. What takes one click in 2010 takes six clicks in 2019. Also defaults are difficult or impossible to change. Need a tool, not a toy. Need to get work done, not fooling around like a teenager.

Yes macs are expensive. However while shopping for a new computer to replace our original MacBook Pro which is still alive after a decade, I was looking to go back to the Microsoft world to save a few bucks. I quickly realized that in order to get a laptop that would do what we needed I would have to buy a fairly pricey product then add the necessary programs to perform the needed tasks plus an annual fee to renew said programs and antivirus software. All this adds up to just about the cost of a new MacBook Pro which comes ready to do the things I ask of a laptop. And without the added annual fees.

I bought my first Mac after my 18 month old windows 10 laptop hard drive crashed. I already have had iPhones for about 6 years now. It seamed like an easy transition. I was able to download the Mac version of Microsoft office and it worked with in minutes. Later I learned to use the built in Mac equivalent and then canceled my office subscription. My experience overall has been very good. I was able to connect and use my Logitech track ball but I decided to go back and purchase an apple Magic Mouse. I especially like that I can start something on my iPhone and send it to my Mac. I am very happy with my purchase

Battery life: 6-8 hours of continuous use (watching videos will make it shorter). It was a lot shorter before I updated the software. Touchpad: larger than previous edition Keyboard: Keys are larger and are flatter than previous editions. To me, it sounds louder when typing compared to previous keyboard. Don't have the touchbar so I can't speak about that. Speakers are decently loud. Does not have USB or HDMI port so you will need to buy an adapter. Very lightweight. Does not come with extension cord for charger so you will have to buy that too if you need it.

This laptop is super light and compact. The space gray was a nice addition to the color selections. I went with the notebook without the color bar because I just couldn’t justify spending the extra $200 for something I didn’t see myself really using and because my friends who did get it don’t seem to use it either. The cord is a bit shorter also so I used the extension that came with my old MacBook Pro. The hand gestures come in handy when multi tasking and it has a nice, bright display and pretty loud speaker. The apple doesn’t light up anymore, but that isn’t a huge deal.
