I've always loved Mac computers. In my opinion they are the most reliable computers. The only thing I feel like this computer is lacking is more than two ports and a bigger hard drive. I just simply bought an extender and an external hard drive. For the price though, it should have these things, in my opinion. The computer is extremely thin, fast, and has a fantastic battery life. I thought I would miss the magnetic charge (MagSafe) but honestly, it doesn't bother me at all, I do wish it didn't use the same port as the USB-C though because it does take up one of my two ports when it's needing to be charged.

This is my first MacBook. I've been using PCs all my life, but I do love the simplicity of the Mac OS operating system. It is easier to use to than Windows in many ways. I also love how light and thin it is. The screen seems bigger than 13 inches because there is not much bezel. The colors are also very vibrant.
The things I do miss are the built in USB ports. I know USB-C is supposed to be the newest thing, but I have so many things that still use USB ports. I have to use an adapter and that seems to be Apple's answer for everything now; so many adapters for everything. I also miss the DVD drive.
Even though Pages, Numbers, and Keynote are included, I still wish Microsoft Office was included. I'm a student, so Word is my life. Pages is difficult to use when it comes to writing APA style papers with Headers and References. Overall, this is a nice computer for a first MacBook Pro.

1.) The space gray color, in my opinion, looks more attractive and appealing. I own the 2012 MacBook pro with retina and in terms of color, the space gray one takes the trophy.
2.) The retina display is a lot brighter and sharp.
3.) Very fast when using final cut pro or Photoshop.
4.) You can’t even notice there is a fan on this laptop. On my 2012 MacBook Pro, I constantly hear the fan when rendering in final cut pro but not on this one!
5.) Lighter and smaller than the previous generation. Although not by much, you can feel the difference.

This laptop is by far the best investment I made. I love the battery life and the way the keys feel when typing. The lightweight is also a HUGE PLUS. The flash storage could be better but with my iCloud storage it works out just right. Love the Retina display as well. The only drawback is no USB port to plug a flash drive into. That's okay cause I save stuff to the iCloud and then retrieve it that way.

Running windows in a virtual machine has never been this great.
I can do anything I need to with speed. Getting 7 hours of battery running both.
The Design is fantastic. Space grey looks awesome.
I wish I had a memory card slot and I plan to get a usb-c multiport once they are in existence and not a kickstarter campaign,

I recently purchased the MacBook Pro, before this computer I had a MacBook Air which met all my computer needs for college but I was ready to upgrade and couldn't happier. The computer is as light at my Air, 10x faster, the colors and clarity are impeccable and it has all its user friendly capabilities as all MacBooks. The only draw back is the change in the USB port but just need to order the adaptor to match all my devices. Highly recommend this computer

Okay, I returned my Surface Pro 4 to bought this one. SP4 is more budget friendly, beside, I'd like to taste the original Windows 10 experience. But the m3 CPU and 4G ram ruin everything. I have to get back to the new MacBook Pro. I love the Mac OS X, the majestic hardware design, beautiful display, unbelievable speaker. Other than that, this machine can't deliver the experience when I was using my 2014 Retina MacBook Pro 15 inch. Here's why:
1. Port. Actually, I don't mind adapting USB-C. The problem is, they use different ports on their latest devices. I use iPhone 7 plus. I can't plug in my headphone to my laptop. I can't charge my phone through laptop. If Apple replaces the 3.5mm audio jack to lighting port, I won't complain here (maybe many non-iPhone users will, but I believe 90% Mac users are IOS users, too). I love Apple devices. I embrace Apple ecosystem. They failed to integrate the experience altogether.
2. Trackpad. Honestly, I never heard anyone complain about Mac's trackpads, nor anyone require the trackpads to be larger. But Apple they just make it significantly larger whatsoever. The result is bad. My palm touches the trackpad accidentally a few time a day. Three finger drag doesn't work consistent due to "palm rejection" feature. This is ridiculous.
3. Battery life. I'm having around 7 hours right now for productivity use (I always use safari while on the battery. I didn't install Adobe Flash on this Mac either). It used to be solid 10 hours on various MacBook Pro I've owned. Consider this is i5 2.0GHz CPU, it supposed to deliver better battery life, I'm very disappointed.
So overall, this time I think I'm going to return this device (thanks to expanded holiday return period). My Windows 10 experience was pretty good, just the weak performance of Surface Pro 4 base model hindered me. I hope Dell XPS 15 won't disappoint me again.

After my old computer of six years started to fail I desperately needed a new one that would work well for me in college. I wanted one that was user friendly, reliable, and one that I was able to carry to class without it being to big or too heavy. The 13 inch MacBook Pro is perfect for all those things. So lightweight and easy to use once I got used to switching from a PC to a Mac (there's a little learning curve switching from a PC to Mac).

Overall, this is a good computer from apple. It is really well built and the screen, keyboard, design, trackpad, and battery life are great. I did end up exchanging this one though for the MacBook Pro that has the touchbar. I think that while that model is more expensive, you do get much more for your money, a faster processor, faster graphics, faster memory, and 2 more USB-C ports. This model without the touchbar is a great computer, but I think the MacBook Pro with the Touchbar is the better choice if you are willing to spend a bit more. I also think that Apple should lower the price a bit, this one should be more like $1399 and the touch bar model should start at like $1599 or $1699.

We have two grandchildren who will begin college this coming year. We decided to purchase them computers for graduation presents. We have been Apple fans for many years and have many Apple products. Our grandchildren have iPhones which they love so it was a no brainer to choose Mac book Pro 13" notebooks. They are light, fast, long battery life and easy to operate. Simply the best though more expensive. Well worth the price!

This model without the touchbar is the best alternative to the MacBook and MacBook Air. With its extra battery capacity compared to the touchbar model and extra screen resolution/real estate, it's been an awesome little workhorse. I thought the usb c only port was going to be a problem but it's powerful enough to run a dock with a 4K monitor, keyboard/mouse and time machine 4tb back up all with one plug. Awesome!

Recently bought this mac laptop. Light sleek and solid design. Performance is at par although I can see that the original drive space that came with this mac model wont be enough. Buyers should consider this or buy an external drive or use the cloud to subscribe for space. Still overall this product is excellent for my personal use.

I am extremely happy with my purchase! I have used a windows laptop for as long as I can remember, and I was afraid to switch to a MacBook, because of how different the systems are. And boy am I happy that I did! This is very easy to use! Battery lasts a long time. Very light to carry. Beautiful design. The keys have been redesigned from previous models and lay flat. Light up keyboard. I can go on and on. I love it!

After my previous MacBook was stolen, I did a lot of research before deciding on this newest model. I was a little worried about the lack of ports, and wish an adapter wasn't necessary to link with older products. But this is a very speedy computer, much lighter than my previous Pro. It is particularly quick when I airdrop photos and files. It turns out I don't need an adapter as much as I anticipated.

If you're not a power user, this computer is close to perfect. Great construction, top-notch display, speedy enough for all but the toughest activities (multiple Office apps open at once are no problem, but I don't know if I'd try that with video editing...). The only downside is that it only has two USB-C ports for connectivity. I didn't think this would be a problem, but since one of those ports does double-duty as a power cord, I'm left with one open port at any given time. This is a minor inconvenience for me, but others may find it more troubling (in which case they may want to consider the touch bar models).

This is an excellent system for a college student, since it has both portability and great battery life along with a smooth efficient way of handling task.
Cons
My only annoyances are that apple only included two USB c ports, one of which is needed for charging, to get the expansion hub is an additional $50 bucks or more, they removed the card reader which I use a lot and since I needed the device asap, I couldn't wait until the previous models came back in stock. I could do without hdmi or Ethernet so those are no big deal, but at least 4 USB ports and keeping the card reader would've been a bit helpful.

Comparing to the 2009 model, it's lighter, faster, more efficient....the keyboard has smaller buttons, it charges in about an hour, while actively using. The retina display is great. The speakers provide a surround-sound effect if sitting on your lap/near your face. The USB-C ports are a little frustrating since everything needs an adapter, but, the future is here, I suppose.
