I had my old MacPro for seven years before needing to replace it. I was debating on whether I should purchase a new one or pay to get my old one fixed. I finally invested in a new one, and I love it! The speed is lightning fast. It's lightweight and the battery life is great. I only wish it had a USB port built in. Instead, you had to purchase one separately. It wasn't very expensively but I just wish it was built in. Overall, great purchase.

I wanted something light and powerful and saw this laptop. I don't really use the touch bar that much only to change the brightness and sound levels. Other than that this laptop is great!

Bought this for my son to use in college. He loves the size, it's easy to put in you backpack and of course it's a Mac so reliability is without question the most important factor!

Best Buy is a great place to buy a Mac. I'm not sure if this applies at all Best Buys or all times of year, but when I expressed interest in buying a Mac I was direcfed to an Apple employee working at the Best Buy store! (Roseville, MN). He was knowledgeable, friendly, patient and helped me get the most bang for my buck.
The Apple MacBook Pro is an example of the adage "you get what you pay for." The workmanship, speed, screen display qualtity, keyboard, etc. Everything is top rate, easy to use and reliable as can be. Applecare's 24-7 support is a good investment too, especially for a new user or someone new to Macs.

My 2010 MacBook Pro has given me a great 7 years, still ticking. Sturdy, smooth, still very functional however starting to get sluggish. An upgrade in memory occurred 2 years ago which seemed to help but then slowly the laptop started to slow. Just normal software wear and tear. Being that it still has a DVD drive I didn't want to let it go.
Decided it best to go shopping for a new laptop. Read reviews and did my research. Although I was open to a windows based platform I still set my focus on MacOS.
There was MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air along with their many storage and processor variations. All 2017 models.
To be honest my main focal point was price. I figured any laptop purchase would definitely reflect powerful processor power and since I had become accustomed to he slower speed of my 2010 MacBook Pro, again, any new laptop would reflect greater processing power.
Ultimately decided to go with the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar. Initially didn't care for the Touch Bar, figured it was one of those gimmicks to get consumers to pay extra. Fortunately for me Best Buy had greats deals that I just couldn't pass up.
So here I am today with a 13" 2017 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar and have to say I love it. Still learning how to best personalize the Touch Bar however it is great. Easily scroll through a movie with a swipe of the Touch Bar. Volume adjustment, smooth. Touch ID functionality is great.
Gimmick or not I can say I am very impressed with this laptop. Definitely recommend it!

I have had many, many laptops in the past few years. Just to name a few: Surface Pro, Surface Pro 3, Chromebook, New 12" MacBook, and a 15" MBP Retina (2015) without touchbar. I also have the 12.9" iPad Pro. I can say this is my favorite device I've ever had. I loved the 15" MBP for it's power and how well the keyboard felt while typing, but it was never really portable enough to drag around everywhere I went. So I bought a 12" MacBook. I loved the looks of it and how insanely portable it was and how quickly it would boot up. I didn't like the typing experience on it because the keys were too shallow. So I sold it and got this one. I absolutely love how portable it is for a full computing experience. The performance is outstanding (I'm not a PC gamer) and the typing experience is really good. I don't feeling like I am sacrificing anything or the performance of the PC, or even the typing experience. If you are not a hardcore gamer, and would like great performance and portability, this is the laptop you've been searching for. The integration between it and the iPad and iPhone is just icing on the cake. You will love the handoff feature that lets you pick up where you left off on your last device as well as being able to copy on one device and paste on another. This feature is especially useful with password management.

I was able to trade in my old Mac and get this new Mac at a reasonable price. I upgraded the processor and ram. Could not be happier. I love this computer. Battery lasts much longer than the MacBook Air. Only con is that this computer only supports USB C format. So an external hub will be required. Other than that, perfect!

I hadn't planned on upgrading my 2013 MacBook Pro, but when this went on sale and I was able to get some trade-in value for my old computer, I decided to take the plunge. I'm glad I did! Of course it's faster because of the new hardware, but the screen is brighter and the touch bar is a very nice touch. I love using this for surfing and homework. If you have MBP that's about 4 years old or older, you might want to take a look at a newer model. I know the USB-C ports might be an issue, but it's easy to get hubs to plug in older USB devices as well as SD cards.

I bought this computer to upgrade from my 2012 MacBook Pro and I am absolutely loving it. The computer is super fast, lightweight, and definitely worth the money that I paid for it. This computer is powerful, lightweight, and super fast. Although I was hesitant to buy the 256G hard drive version, now that I have taken the computer home and set it up it is definitely enough space for me. In 2018, I feel we no longer have to keep every file on the laptop! I used a cloud drive to backup my entire life and all my files, and setting up the MacBook with my home network makes it easy to access my cloud files, as well as anything that I have stored on the computer. Being a student, I have to multitask and constantly have multiple windows open. This computer opens all my programs immediately, in less than 2 seconds. I am using this MacBook Pro in conjunction with a WD Mycloud Hard drive, an iPad Pro, and between the two other devices I have more than enough storage. At first I was concerned that the keyboard would be hard to adjust to, but with in comparison to my old computer (MacBook 2012) the keys are slightly harder to press down, but I believe the keyboard is much more silent than the previous version. I don't miss my old computer at all this new MacBook is a keeper.

honestly this laptop could blow up and start a fire and i'd still love it. the retina display is fantastic and the sound even more. touchbar super high tech and helpful, it's got lots of options and quick shortcuts. HOWEVER, i've only had it for about 1.5 months and it now does not work. the new update made it crash and i lost all my saved data. not to mention the "ICLOUD STORAGE IS NOW FULL." like jesus, i bought the 500gb to NOT have this problem -.- i mean the overall design and specs are great but idk what happened man, imma finna throw hands. still gonna go get it fixed and keep it tho. fml.

After being away from Macs for the past few years, it's nice to be back. The software and OS is second to none and in my opinion is much better than Windows 10 (though windows 10 is, in my opinion a step in the right direction compared to its predecessors).
I'm not a power user, but on occasion I'll do some photoshop projects, or Indesign projects. Not really a gamer so did not really need the dedicated graphics card that comes on the 15' version.
I'm liking this for the ease of use, the portability, and I've actually started using the touch bar for more than just the fingerprint id function, which is something I've grown to really like.
If you have the means, and you are looking for a well built, well designed laptop that will last you a few years, this one is it. Also if you plan on picking up the new iPhone 8 later this year or at the start of 2018, the integration with other Apple products is a better feel than with the integration of PC/Android items, that you typically have to be a little tech savvy to really benefit from.
Well built machine, provides me with what I want, price is a bit high, but the ease of use and the fact that things just work is something I enjoy and am willing to pay a few extra bucks to have.

So this is my first Apple computer. Yes it is expensive, that is why I waited for the Black Friday sale. I’ve always had terrible luck with setting up the connectivity with WiFi or connecting to the printer with my windows computer. Setting up everything with my MacBook Pro was a breeze. Everything was set up and updated to the newest software version in under in hour. Love my MacBook Pro. However, I would suggest picking up a few USB adapters since most devices have a usb connector and not the usb-c connector.

Could NOT be happier with my new toy! It was pretty pricey, but I am used to that being an avid Apple/Mac buyer. And it helps that the resell from my old MacBook was pretty decent.
The Pros: The screen quality is better than it's ever been. I love the keyboard (has a nice feel to it). Love that it's lightweight, but still sturdy. Best Buy had the best pricing and a person onsite who was knowledgeable and able to answer my questions.
The Cons: The trackpad is a little too sensitive for me and I tend to double click when I didn't mean to. While the touchbar is a nice addition, especially being able to log in without having to type in a password, as I'm getting used to it I tend to "ask Siri" for things when I didn't intend to. With both of these small things, it's definitely something I can see getting used to/over with repeat use.
The Indifferent: It's pretty much how Apple rolls, but as everything is still using USB/other ports (non-Apple mouse, external harddrive, camera memory card), it's a little annoying to have to buy/use multiple dongles or equipment to fit the USB-C. Though it is nice that it's the same port type all around.
Overall, I am in love with this laptop and would definitely recommend!
