    I am really upset the MacBook pro purchase from best buy. The MacBook started giving problem after 3 months of my purchase and my experience with apple customer support and geek squad is a nightmare. My MacBook pro restarts on sleep mode or while working it gets stuck and restarts every few hours. Visit 1: I started with Geek Squad at BestBuy in Woodland Hills and they said that they don’t have way to troubleshoot and they have shipped it to apple specialist which would take 3 to 4 weeks and they have suggested me go to apple. Visit 2: Apple specialist at apple store(Apple Topanga) has seen all logs and suggested to do factory reset and see if the issue persist they send it to the factory for repair. Visit 3: The issue persisted and I had to take it back to apple, they send the MacBook to factory for repair. Visit 4: The MacBook came back after repair and it was mentioned that it was hardware issue and they replaced the parts. Visit 5: Back to Greek Squad, the issue was not resolved and explained this situation and they suggested if they send to their factory, it would take 3 to 4 weeks and suggested I go back to apple. Visit 6: Apple specialist said that there is no hard issue now and it is software issue and they did the factory reset again. Apple says that since I have taken the MacBook from best buy they can’t replace it. After two month for my visits to apple and geek squad, the issue is not resolved yet and it keeps resetting. I am not sure where to go from here.

    I have been a windows user all my life. My last windows laptop crashed. I decided to get a macbook as I was told they are better than windows based laptops. I hated some features in windows so I decided to give the macbook pro a try even though i hated their price relative to windows pc. I purchased this mac and then went on a vacation out of the country for 2 weeks so i didn't use it during that time. BY the time I started using it and realized its flaws i was already out of the 14 days return window. Pros: 1. Love the operating system and since i already own an iphone and ipad I love the way they all worked together (for example i can text, receive calls or air drop on my mac). 2. Screen is great. 3. LOVE the functionality of the trackpad. Best trackpad on any computer I have ever owned. 4. Love the fast start up and immediate on like my ipad. CONS: 1. It gets VERY HOT fast. Its a laptop but because of the heat I cannot use it on my lap. 2. The battery life is no where as good as advertised. 3. It is a slow computer for the price. As a result of my frustration with the slowness was why I was compelled to write this review. 4. Lack of ports. I had to buy an adapter to be able to use usb drives and to get a HDMI port to connect to my widescreen monitor. 5. Apple no longer makes iphones with the old style earphone jacks but they have it on this macbook. Makes no sense. The heat this "laptop" produces and the slowness with a couple tabs open are my most frustrating points. My old windows pc that was half the cost was faster and didn't produce this much heat. Very disappointed in this laptop especially based on how much I paid for it.

    Keyboard replacement $700 out of warranty

    If you like Apple products you will most likely love this laptop, until the keyboard issues start! Yes, I do feel that Apple has tried to squeeze every last $ from their loyal Apple Fans with the new model pricing. Buying a $100 dock just to get back the ports your had on your 2015 model seems crazy. However, screen brightness, portability are very attractive on this model. I will say the keyboard does feel great, but please read the forums online. Multiple cases of users on their 3rd keyboard replacement. FYI, the space gray model does show nicks easy along the edge. I think this is because Apple designed the casing to have sharper corners. My question is what makes your think that the keyboard won't fail after the warranty expires? If you replace a keyboard 3 times it will surely fail on you again soon. Apple designed the laptop that you must replace the entire top casing on the computer, that is the entire upper uni-body. If Apple fixed the keyboard and you had money to spend and don't mind Apple's overpriced "Tax" then the computer is great. But until Apple comes out with a recall on the keyboard or a new design. I'm staying away from this failure! Bottom line, I returned my Macbook Pro 13 2017.

    I bought this great laptop some 13 days back and was happy as I wanted to gift it to my sister for her graduation. As I bought it from bestbuy I was convinced that the product would be in the best condition. That was my first mistake. Before giving it to my sister I just randomly checked the Mac 9-10 days after purchase( the box was untouched till then) and realized that it had 2 minor hairline scratches on the screen which was not visible with the kind of wallpaper apple has set but was visible on a white background. I quickly went to bestbuy to get it replaced as it was still under the 15 days policy and since I received a damaged product from bestbuy. The staff checked it and said that it is an external damage and the return policy for damaged goods is just 3 days from the date of purchase. As I went through the bestbuy policy in front of the customer it was no where mentioned that the return policy is 3 days for damaged goods. The staff said that it is their internal Policy.!! I was asked to visit Apple showroom and get it fixed! The kind of behavior the staff showed was unacceptable. I would never buy stuffs from bestbuy going forward and never recommend to a friend as well. This was the worst customer service people they can get.

    This poor review isn't for the laptop itself, so far it's great. My wife talked me into trying out the open box, and I reluctantly agreed and settled for a certified excellent openbox macboox pro. The certified excellent program would have you believe that the items are tested and cleaned professionally. My macbook box was sealed, and was excited when I saw the macbook unit wrapped in factory film. Upon unwrapping the open box unit, and opening the screen I notice very obviously dirty and very greasy finger prints on all the keys and touchpad. This unit was not cleaned at all, professionally or not. I spent most of the first night with it scrubbing it clean of someone else's greasy fingerprints. Beware the certified excellent label. It only means that some rep put it back in the box upon return.

    I purchased an open box MacBook Pro for my son that was supposed to inspected and cleared by the Geek Squad. Once my son returned to school he found the MAC had not been scrubbed and ALL of the original owner's personal information was still present and the previous owner had it for 6 months before returning. We brought it to the attention of the General Manager of this Best Buy location and he didn't seem very concerned or willing to ensure customer satisfaction. I've been a customer of Best Buy for many years and was very disappointed by the handling of this situation. I can not recommend purchasing an open box Mac and encourage those who return their devices to make sure they wipe their system clean.

    Fragile screen , breaks easily - watch out

    Bought a Macbook pro last December(2017) for my daughter. She also bought a shell and the cover to protect it. Around May, a crack appeared in the LCD. There is no external damage to the screen or anywhere else, but inside. I have been owning various Apple Macbook products and they are still working even after 6+ years. Apple says it is accidental damage and not covered by warranty. How is it accidental damage when the internal display is cracked and there is no external damage? I also have other laptops, such as Lenovo ones, and they are sturdier than Apple for sure. Clearly, this is not designed well.

    I decided to upgrade my previous MacBook Pro with this unit. I gave up the ability to upload via SD card slot as this unit omits SD and all other ports. Sometimes this MacBook does not recognize the SD dongle. Worst of all is major keyboard issues. Different keys randomly stop working and rather than repair last time hey exchanged my MacBook Pro. What a pain! Now my T is not working right so now I have to back up and hope for the best. I wish I would have kept my previous MacBook Pro. This one kinda sucks and runs much warmer

    Made this purchase based on the preloaded software on the display units, specifically asked sales person if the software came with the product and was told yes. Got the Laptop home and no, the software doesn't come preloaded. Call Rochester Hills Store to complain and manager did nothing. Very bad expeaince

    Many things did not work properly. Backlit keyboard not backlit when powered in only backlit after actually signing on. No way to set for larger font. I am visually impaired. Many other annoying things that certainly should have been programmable but just weren’t.

    The fans on the computer blows constantly, I have exchanged it once and sent it to repairs twice with no improvement. If you live in a climate where temperatures are always below 60F, then this computer is for you.

    The battery doesn't work, the computer get hot very easily, it turn off with 20% of battery, if I will know that before I bought it, I will rather for another brand of computer.

    13inch screen size is small... too expensive even with $200/- discount. I think Apple should increase the size to 14inch for pro's and increase the config and reduce the price to $1000 /- for everyone to use.

    I had a very very bad experience in Best Buy store in mansfield, CT!!! I bought this macbook pro which supposed with an antivirus software included free. But the assistant didn't give me when I bought the pro.

    I bought this laptop computer. They offered me free set up. I made an appointment And took time off work. When I got there the guy tried to charge me $59 to set it up. I left very disappointed!
