I would rather buy a laptop with insurance in case something goes wrong with the product. I will continue to buy from Best Buy as I would rather buy locally than in the internet as a way to offer support to local employees.

I had been waiting for the new model to come out with the new architecture but now I could wait no longer. So, Best Buy to the rescue. Turns out, good price, great product, really did not need more except upgrade to storage from 512 GB to 1 TB. Everything smooth including the transfer. More than well pleased.

Very noisy machine

Heat is not. 2nd day now and fans are on 70% of the time. Any time it has to do anything but idle the fans spin up to 3500-4500 rpm which is very noticeable. If you don't care about noise then ok but if you want a quiet machine wait for the next redesign. This one is going back.

Major improvement on the previous model

But, I needed the added SSD space and heard that the keyboard was an improvement, so I pulled the trigger. Let me say that the redesigned keyboard is reason alone to upgrade to/purchase the newest model. I didn't necessarily hate the old keyboard, that is, until I used this one. A seemingly minor improvement turned out to be a game changer for me.
