Best MacBook Pro for value.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very lightweight yet very powerful. I’ve done some UX (crisp lines and text), heavy photoshop, some video edits and this machine did not stutter at all. OS is as reliable as it gets. Hardware itself rarely overheats. Screen is bright and clear. Connect this machine to a 4K screen and you’re good to go. I thought the touchbar was a gimmick in the beginning, but give yourself a chance to use it and you’ll see its value. Overall good machine.

Great computer for school!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m not used to apple products so it is a little different for me. I love the design, weight, and color options. The touchbar is a very helpful tool and customizable! I’ve only used it a few times, but the battery life is great. It doesn’t have traditional USB ports which is a little annoying. I bought a multi-port adapter for my MacBook which works great and solves this issue.

Powerful Computer, Great for Everyday Use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded from a MacBook Pro 2012 to this one. Much thinner and lighter, the screen is amazing, and the touch bar is a plus. The touch bar changes depending on what application you are using, and can be customized. The screen has low glare and can be viewed from side angles easily and in places with a lot of light. The new keyboard takes a little bit of getting used to if you haven't used the new butterfly design on the Macs. This MacBook has no problem handling everyday things and can also handle heavier applications with the 8Gb memory and i5 processor. The biggest downside I have found with this computer is that it ONLY has USB-C ports, nothing else. You WILL be needing adapters to connect things such as USB, SD cards, ethernet, and/or HDMI. Although inconvenient at times, the USB-C ports are also very powerful and can support many things at once. Great and powerful laptop, very happy with it.

Solid Choice
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Apple is known today to have very high prices, and this product featured one of them. It usually goes for around 1700, but I was able to get it on sale for 1450. I went from a MacBook Air to this, and the display on this computer is just incredible compared to that of a MacBook Air. The keyboard took some getting used to, and I needed to actually have Apple replace my entire keyboard free of cost because of problems with the butterfly mechanism. Now though, I haven't had any problems and everything is good. The speakers are fantastic, battery life is good, display is great, Touch Bar is really intuitive, and one of my favorite things is the Touch ID. I never have to remember my passwords anymore, I just put in my fingerprint. I would highly recommend this product, but for someone who doesn't worry too much about performance, there is now a lower, entry-level 1299 MacBook Pro that offers all the same stuff, with a smaller base clock. Great computer overall, just very expensive.

Love This Mac!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this Mac last month as an upgrade. I was still using my mid 2009, it still works fine. I love the smaller size and light weight of the new one. The "touch-bar" is amazing. The battery life is great. I will have this one for the next 10 years as well.

Best laptop I've ever owned
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This MacBook Pro is awesome. It looks great in Space Gray, is just the right size, and is super fast compared to my old laptop. I thought the touch bar was a little weird at first, but now I love it,

As Always, beautiful.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have always had an apple. I bought one of the first laptops Apple ever made, the first macbook pro they ever made, and few others since then. When the touch-bar came out, i have been wanting to upgrade, and i am as always impressed and having hard time putting it down. I love the light weight and long battery life, and for as much power as it has, those were my main concerns. The display is absolutely beautiful. Macs cost more but they last longer, and i can honestly say that since every last one of mine still works to this day. One last thing- the touch bar is awesome. I am sure one could argue that it increases productivity, but i could care less and just think its cool and one more fun thing to mess with... truth is that more is more.

Great features - open box makes it a better value
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son needed a laptop for college. He needed the power of a Pro model vs the Air for audio production. This one has the newest chipset that Apple uses (beware the lower priced MBPs as they use earlier generation dual core chips) , the touch bar and the 256 gb SSD so this check all the boxes and the best price point. It's fast, light, portable and has the build quality Apple is known for. It was discounted by $250 for the Dads and Grads sale AND my local BBY had an open box which discounted it by an additional $170, so we got it at an amazing price. If you're interested in any of the MBPs, I suggest you wait for a sale and then get an open box model. The amount we saved paid for the apple care and a case.

Great laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I previously owned a MacBook Pro (2009) that has been running slow for the past few years. I stopped bringing it to school with me as much because it would literally take 30 minutes to startup and would still freeze randomly. That laptop stopped working altogether and wouldn’t even power on. I had the option to upgrade some components within my old laptop or purchase a new one. I chose to purchase this new one and I am very happy with my decision. It runs very smoothly and responds quickly. It is thinner and lighter than my old MacBook Pro and also has the touch bar and bigger mousepad. If you need an upgrade and can afford the large price tag of this laptop it’s worth it.

Excellent Machine, Even From a Windows Guy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a Windows user my entire life, from Windows 98 to Windows 10. I'm also an information systems professional, so I've had plenty of experience with various computers (laptops, desktops, netbooks, etc.) and a variety of operating systems, including Linux. The Mac, however, was still untested water for me, as I hadn't used a Mac in any work/school environment previously. A few years ago, I purchased a MacBook Air (when they were white and made a 11.6" model), and ended up returning it within a week, as I wasn't impressed with the build quality and was unfamiliar with the OS; I exchanged it for a Dell XPS 13, which was much more impressive to me at the time. This MacBook Pro, however, was substantially better than the old MacBook Air from 2015 (and it costed $1,000 more as well), but after testing a friend's 15" model, I decided to go ahead and make the purchase. In one word, the MacBook Pro is beautiful. The all-aluminum build quality is nice looking and sturdy, and the overall look and feel of MacOS is nice. The keyboard, which many seem to complain about, is personally one of the best-feeling keyboards I've ever used, as I really enjoy typing on the short-travel butterfly keyboard. I just hope I don't experience any of the key-sticking issues that many reviewers note. In addition, the trackpad is excellent, and the touch bar is a nice addition; however, it is over-hyped in my opinion, as I rarely use it for anything other than adjusting the volume and brightness of my screen. This machine is powerful enough for most everyday activities, such as web browsing and word processing, photo editing, light video editing, and many developer activities, but for those of you who are looking to do major video editing with Final Cut Pro or develop large-scale programs, I would step it up to the model with an i7 and 16gb of RAM. After getting used to the OS, I actually prefer it over Windows 10, but there is a bit of a learning curve and I still struggle with performing some tasks that I am accustomed to doing easily in Windows (probably just a force of habit, as MacOS seems easier to use overall). I still believe, however, that the Mac isn't feasible as a full-time machine for developers and technical folks, but if you are looking to make this purchase as a student or someone who looks to write books/papers, do some creative work, or make iOS apps (which was my biggest reason for getting the Mac), this is the machine for you. My experience so far has been good, and I have very few things to complain about with this machine, even though it is my first Mac.

Switched and never going back
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First time using a MacBook, I’ve always been a windows guy but I was fed up with the errors and crashes, and slow startup with windows so I made the switch! Boy am I glad I did, wish I would have sooner, so easy to use , syncs with my Apple Watch , iPhone etc, and best part is there’s tons of tutorials online to help you learn the basics! It’s very fluid, starts up in under 10 seconds , everything is easy to find and use! I was skeptical at first because of the price but I got it on sale for 1450 and open box certified ! It was brand new never used. For the price I wondered if it was worth it, but I’ve been using it for a month and it’s awesome! I have the one with the touchbar and I know other people say they don’t use it etc, but I’ve been using it right along it changes with ever app or different pages open etc to use for whatever you are using! I find it useful! Now there are some cons! Not a lot of apps yet it the Mac App Store! Ive been using pages keynote numbers etc, but windows people can’t open the files unless you export it to excel word etc! So that’s a tip for you! Lack of other ports , mine only comes with 4 usbc ports, I did buy the hyperdrive hub which works great it’s perfect for MacBook but it’s an extra 70$. Price when on sale is worth it, full price at 1800 I would say no! Better computer than windows and I’m new to Mac so I can tell the difference I would definitely recommend it to anyone, let your crashes and errors go free and get a Mac! I’m glad I did!

One of Apples Best Laptops
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely have no regrets with my MBP purchase. Butterfly keyboard works excellent and the screen is bright enough to take outside. This MBP is not a top end from Apple but has enough power do get any job done the average user can throw at it. Processor is fast and has just enough RAM and all for a great price. Extremely portable and not that heavy at all. Carrying this laptop is effortless and I hardly know it’s in my backpack. I would highly recommend this MBP to any college student, web designer or anyone with general computer purposes. It has the heft to get the job done and at a reasonable price.

My first Apple MacBook Pro...
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally was going to buy the MacBook Air for budget reasons. it was on sale as well as being the entry level Apple laptop. I was a little weary because it only had a dual core processor. I also had to decide between the 128 Gb & 256 GB SSD models (I ultimately decided on the 256 GB SSD size). I was in the store making my purchase and I thought to check the Best Buy App one more time to look through the Apple laptops and their latest pricing. Also, I always try to price match when applicable. Well, I was shocked. They had the MacBook Pro 13 Touch Bar 256 GB on sale matching exactly the cost of the MacBook Air 256 GB. With the included $100.00 off for being a MY Best Buy Member (which is a free membership). In total, I paid $1199.99 plus 7% tax around the time of the back to school sales. The only caveat to this sale was it had to be the silver model. I found it to be a no brainer to not pay the Apple Space Grey "Tax" at that point. Anyway, coming from a Windows 10 desktop I built the MacBook Pro is a joy. All my Apple devices work together seamlessly. Apple Watch, iPhone, & iPad Pro using Sidecar in Catalina OS. I like the MacOS better than Widows for multiple reasons. I guess it's a personal preference but I find it's just "fun". I'm being more creative. I got Final Cut Pro X for video editing and Logic Pro X for music. I plan to get a MiDI controller which Apple makes painless to set up. With Apples GUI, I'm using Final Draft and Ulysses, making writing a pleasure. Software seems to be a bit more optimized. The ports are all Thunderbolt 3 and this can be a curse or a blessing for some. I use adapters and a hub. I have no problems with the ports and I never new the power available in a Thunderbolt 3 port. There's 4 and I find them to be plenty, powerful and never lacking. There's supposed to be possible keyboard issues but I'm not seeing it (yet?) but Apple does offer a free replacement plan if the keyboard malfunctions. As far as looks it's a beautiful machine. Finely Engineered. I've heard some people don't like the Touch Bar but I find it very functional. The speakers are great for a laptop and the Retina screen pops and is a pleasure. I may be an Apple fanboy, I'm not sure but I'd like to think I'm a good judge when it comes to technology and I'm pleased if not ecstatic with this investment. I hope you will be too.

Excellent Laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first Apple laptop and I am thoroughly impressed. The speed is excellent and the WiFi is outstanding. In class many folks could not pick up the building WiFi but the MBPro had no issues. The touchbar is super convenient. The battery life is very good. After a 3hr coding class I still have 63% battery life. The 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports are enough to connect and charge the devices I use. You pay more for the MacBook Pro but it is well worth the money.

Totally awesome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wonderful fast computer. I like how it shuts down and starts up in like 3 seconds. I thought my wife was going to use the touchbar more often than she does. It is nice to have I like using it but it’s not really a necessary upgrade. Like it can save you time going between tabs on the computer, but if you learn the keyboard shortcut that is even faster than the touchbar lol. Still a wonderful computer. Only bad part is you have to buy an adapter because NOTHING USES USB-C PORTS!!!!!!!!!!
