The 2018 MacBook Pro with the quad core i5 is a good laptop. It performs as well as I need it to, and it's ridiculously portable. The keyboard is a bit hit or miss, I've needed to replace it once already, but it was done for free with Apple's repair program for the butterfly keyboard. I like the feel personally but be sure to type on it for quite a while before settling. Display is amazing and overall great machine.

I’ve been waiting for Apple to add the quad core processors to their 13” MacBook Pros for awhile. I was so happy to get this new model due to that. The build quality is amazing. I love the huge trackpad. It’s accuracy, smoothness, and gesture controls are unmatched by any other notebook computer. TouchID is my favorite part of the Touchbar as it makes logging in to the computer, websites/apps, and paying with ApplePay so easy and secure. Additionally, I’m finding the Touchbar and it’s customizations very useful too. Video scrubbing, audio scrubbing, and predictive options for moving email to different folders are great examples of its uncustomized uses. I’ve already customized it to make other features easier for me like screenshots, opening new tabs, and moving YouTube videos into picture-in-picture mode when I’m multitasking. The processor is fast and handles my browsing, emails, video watching, and light video editing well. I haven’t done any heavy video editing yet, but I believe it will do a very good job with that as well. The absolute best part of any MacOS product, though, is how well it works with the ecosystem of other Apple products. Photos and videos I take on my iPhone XS are automatically available in my iCloud Photo Library for pulling into editing on my MacBook. No need to transfer anything with wires. I can pickup right where I left off with iMessages, email, phone calls, and other documents from the phone to the MacBook and back again. My airpods are super simple to switch audio sources. I’m extreme happy with this purchase.

We recently purchased two of these Mac book laptop computers for our daughters to use for college courses. They are super easy to use and we like how we can integrate with our other apple products-photo stream etc. They are just the right size, lightweight and fit great in backpacks . We would highly recommend these laptops

It handles everything I throw at pretty well! I can browse on the net and have plenty of tabs open and have a lot of applications open at the same time. It does heat up when pushed to the max, but nothing where it becomes uncomfortable. It does get very warm when pushing it and charging it. So far very satisfied with this purchase!

I am an artist and find that I really have enjoyed learning to use the touch bar that is new with this model. It does run slower than a previous model I had that was 16GB ram... it is noticeable. However, I plan to buy a desktop model for the processing power and use this as my travel computer for jobs. It is very light and easy to maneuver.

I was using laptops from other brands mostly HP, Dell, and Lenovo. But was never satisfied with their performance and durability. But since I have started using this computer, Macbook pro 2018, it has helped me so much regarding almost everything. Its too fast, no lagging and mostly easy to use.

The MacBook exceeds my expectations. It is lightweight and fast. Because I am new to MacBook, I am still learning. Definitely takes some getting use to. The battery life is great. I once used the MacBook for 8 hours straight while familiarizing myself with some of its features and it was still going strong. The touchpad comes in handy when having to enter passcodes. Just the touch of your finger instead of typing in. Still learning the touchpad features. I like that my MacBook syncs with my other Apple devices: iPhone, Apple Watch, and iPad Pro. I receive my text messages and emails, and can use Siri and FaceTime across all devices. A great feature for Apple Watch users is being able to wake the MacBook screen with watch without having to enter passcode. If you’re wearing your Apple Watch while using your MacBook and the screen goes into sleep mode, just touch the MacBook pad and you will be logged back in. Your Apple Watch will notify you that AppleWatch logged you into MacBook. You must select feature in order to use. So far I am loving my new MacBook.

This is, of course, a solid laptop but since I traded up from my MacBook Pro-2015, I can comment on some of the subtle differences. Though the memory and ram are the same, the newer model responds much quicker and processes much faster. I feel it is easier to type on the newer keyboard, though it took some time to adjust to. There is also a noticeable difference in the screen quality. I do not like the fact that there is no USB port. I know we are heading to a time where everything is cloud-based, but we are not there yet. Many people still use a USB port regularly and I find it ridiculous that I have to buy a $20 adapter to use one. As for the touch bar, it is very cool looking, but I have not found it of any use. Actually, I have accidentally tapped it with my pinky several times pressing the ESC key or activating Siri while I am trying to type a paper. I wish I saved $100 and went with the model without the touch bar. All in all, if you have an older model Mac and you want to upgrade it is kind of worth it. But I would not trade my 2015 in yet if I could go back in time.

Beautiful laptop. I bought it to combine my light computer use and knowledge with mi daughters heavy school work and love this tool bar that allows you to login in a breeze using your finger print. In general it looks like a good computer, very friendly and makes everything easier for those who are not technology savvy.

Oh yea... the price but once you get over that and figure out how to save money elsewhere, you really do get a machine that will last you much longer than you expect. And in the long run, that's better than replacing your machine every couple of years right? This is replacing a 2011 MB Air that has been awesome and bulletproof for me. I know there are better spec'd comps out there for less but I've also never had a computer last me over 3 years, let alone 8. I'm also upgrading because I want the latest OS and need more power for some video editing. Otherwise, that MB Air is still running great! Lots have been said about the new keyboard and touchbar but I have no problem with the shallower keys and the touchbar is pretty cool to me. I'm a fan. I'd just say, since this machine is not upgrade-able, get what you need in terms of memory, ram and speed. Don't skimp if you have to because in a few years, you'll wish you spent a little more to get what you really needed.

I can’t get over how luxurious this laptop is! Yes, it is very expensive, but my god it is nice. The Retina display is incredible, and the things that you can do with the Touch Bar is amazing! It feels very high tech! I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to technology, but I love how easy Apple’s software is. I’m a very simple gal. I don’t need a super powerful laptop, I don’t need to do anything fancy with it. That being said, if you’re unlike me, then this laptop might not be for you. Yes it is a very nice laptop, but compared to others, it is stupid overpriced. When I started college, I was hesitant to buy this laptop, since it is expensive, so I went with a PC. I used it for a year, but I just couldn’t get used to it. Apple is overpriced, but I’m glad I got this laptop. It is very nice and does what I need it to do! The only thing I don’t like about it is the keyboard. Apple really dropped the ball on that aspect, but I don’t care too much for it. Overall, I highly recommend!

I’ve had a MacBook Air 13” for 3 years and needed a pretty powerful laptop for college (which the air sadly wasn’t) so I decided to stay with Apple because of the build quality I had with my old Air. Great decision! The build quality is superb (like all apple products) and leaves nothing to be desired in the performance field. I haven’t done any heavy lifting with this thing yet but the i5 in this thing is pretty beefy so I’m not too worried. The screen is also the best I’ve used. It’s not 4K, but I never found myself wanting anymore than what it’s already packing. Also, it’s extremely bright, so much so that I never put it at max brightness until I eventually took it outside, just because it gets so bright that it was honestly TOO bright. Very satisfied with this computer, and would totally recommend this product, although maybe look at the new updated base model 13” Pro before looking at this one since they are very similar but the base model is much cheaper.

I luv my new MacBook Pro. There is a slight learning curve after twenty years as a P.C. user. The Touch Bar is a great feature when I remember to use it. it's light weight and has great battery life. To sum it up I have only had this Mac for a month but would recommend it to anyone that asked.

-performance - I decided to get the base Touch Bar model that just came out because I wanted to see if the 8GB of ram plus those new processors would do what I needed it to do. I just have to say it hasn't let me down yet and I was surprised, I use this for video editing and photo editing, along with other graphics art projects and even with many things open it does very well and only gets a little warm when exporting video. I use this thing all the time and the one thing I wish is more hard drive space I haven't even noticed it being slow at all with the lower specs and thats saying something because I normally get the 13" MacBook Pro's but when going from 2015 model I never felt the need to upgrade till this year and the time is right specs wise.

This computer has been solid since I bought it. Its fast and much lighter than my last one. One critique/irritation that I do have with it is the lack of the regular ports laptops usually come with (even my old MacBook Pro had them). I am missing my USB port and HDMI port to say the least from my last laptop and don't really like the idea that I have to buy expensive adaptors for them after just buying a new expensive computer... Its the one major thing that made me knock off a star.

Apple makes superior products that are built to last. Current model MacBook Pro is exactly that. Previous MBP was 10 years old so this was a major upgrade. Aside from the obvious improvement in performance based on my previous MBP, I've found the touch bar to be more useful than I expected. It dynamically updates with selection options based on what you're doing which provides additional convenience. They have also loaded really cool backgrounds that update lighting conditions throughout the day. Example: Early morning shows a mountain at sunrise and later in the day that same scene has been updated with mid-day / sunset lighting conditions. Apple's attention to detail is always impressive.
