The best laptop that i ever had. It’s simply amazing, it helps me with everything. The apple intelligence is incredible and also helpful with my job.

This laptop is amazing. I struggled between M4 vs. M4Pro and 14 vs. 16. Ultimately, Best Buy putting the standard 14" M4 on sale w/ the RAM upgrade to 24 GB and the SSD upgrade to 1 TB pushed me to make a decision to the 14 and glad I did.
This processor is plenty powerful enough for what I need it to do: working in CRM software, Quickbooks Online and other web app SaaS programs, light IDE work doing front end stuff on occasion, simpler graphic design like vector illustration and occasional photoshop/lightroom, occasional InDesign and Acrobat work, email correspondence... and maybe occasional video editing in Premiere where I suspect the Pro chip might have worked better, but that is such a minimal role with what I do, I can stand it taking a few minutes longer to encode some video.
The portability is spot on. It's just a little noticeably heavier than my iPad Pro with a keyboard case, but still very manageable in a bag. The form factor in my lap is just right, especially where my wrists sit to the sides of the trackpad under the keyboard. Typing is easy and comfortable. I do sort of miss my 10-key pad, but not a deal breaker. It's just so thin considering it still has amazing battery lift that far exceeds my iPad Pro M1 and has a card reader and extra USB-C ports. I suppose the HDMI port is pretty nice as well to hook up to projectors or large flat screens for presentations and meetings. I probably won't use that as much in my current life, but sales road warriors would likely use the feature quite a lot.
This laptop is crazy quiet. Most everyday tasks won't even trigger the fans to spin up. I don't think I've heard the fans on this, yet. Of course, I haven't pushed it very hard—mostly web browsing, email correspondence and web app work so far. The battery performance so far has been outstanding. I can hibernate this cold-blooded machine for two weeks in sleep and come back to it firing right up w/ some charge left. I can work in 2-3 hour spurts in the evening on it and not charge it for days. It's wild how energy efficient this is compared to my older Mac laptops and even my M1 iPad Pro.
I will say it has taken me a little time to get used to the nuances of the track pad. I love using my Logitech MX mouse on my desktop, so working on the trackpad is a bit of a learning curve. After playing w/ the settings and adjusting preferences, I've gotten a lot better at click-dragging to move things around. With a smaller screen form factor, it's necessary to get to where you can drag things around a bit without losing hold of what you are dragging. That took some practice. I would at first end up w/ files in some random folders I would have to go back and search for to pull from wherever they ended up to put them in the correct place. I would get frustrated and just want to go back to the desktop to use the mouse, but ultimately I realized this was more of an issue with me and not the computer. Works beautifully, now.
If you're a student, or a founder, or an entrepreneur, small business owner, traveling sales person — this laptop is a great tool at a good price purchased on sale with some upgrades to it. If you're more niched and do a lot of bull-pen style work that is resource intensive, you may be better off considering the more pro oriented silicon and larger screen form factor. But ultimately, I think this was a great purchase and has led to better productivity with it sitting on my ottoman so I can just pick up and work in spurts vs. procrastinating going into my office and sitting down at the desktop to chug through some tasks.
No regrets or feelings of missing out on the M4 Pro or 16" screen, here. The battery life of the M4 standard chip in my case is more beneficial than additional core-horsepower I'll use less often. I can take this thing out all day without anxiety of the battery running out on me. It's great and the form factor is awesome too—not too small, not too big. Just right.

Apple MacBook Pro 14 Space Black

The latest 14-inch MacBook Pro with Apple’s new M4 chip is clearly aimed at power users — content creators, developers, creative professionals — who want cutting-edge performance in a relatively compact package. In the configuration with 24 GB RAM and a full 1 TB SSD, this model offers a compelling mix of speed, storage, and display quality. Here’s how it stacks up in practice.
What’s Great
Performance
The new M4 chip delivers excellent speed. Tasks like compiling code, editing high-res video, or running graphic-intensive software are handled smoothly. Even under multi-app loads the system remains responsive.
24 GB of RAM is very generous, enabling heavy multitasking without much swapping or lag — perfect for users who run virtual machines, large photo or video libraries, or multiple heavy apps simultaneously.
Display & Visuals
The 14-inch Liquid Retina XDR display is outstanding. With high brightness (up to 1,600 nits peak), great contrast, and accurate color, it’s very suitable for photo/video editing or design work.
Sharp resolution (3024 × 1964) means UI elements are crisp, text looks clean, and there’s ample workspace e.g. for side-by-side windows.
Storage
The 1 TB SSD gives plenty of room for project files, apps, media. The speed of Apple’s SSDs is also a big plus: fast launches, fast loading of large assets, swift backups.
Battery Life
Apple claims up to 24 hours, which is very good. In real world use, depending on workload (video editing vs light web/email), battery life is quite strong — though you won’t always get the upper bound, especially under heavy load.
Best Buy
Build, Design & Extras
Space Black is a sleek finish and gives this MacBook a premium look.
The port selection is solid: Thunderbolt 4 / USB-C ports, HDMI, MagSafe charging; that makes it easier to connect to external displays, use fast SSDs, etc.
Keyboard, trackpad, and speakers are high quality (as expected from Apple).
Where It’s Not Perfect / Possible Trade-Offs
Price
This configuration is pricey. If your work doesn’t consistently push the limits, a lower-RAM model or smaller SSD may offer better value.
Some may find the cost hard to justify unless you use the extra performance / storage regularly.
Weight & Portability
While still portable for a powerful laptop, it’s not ultra-light. For those traveling frequently, there may be lighter options. When carrying accessories or adapters, the load adds up.
Heat / Performance Under Sustained Load
Under long, intensive operations (rendering, prolonged video export, high frame-rate gaming), there can be noticeable heat and the system may throttle somewhat. Not unusual, but something users needing constant performance should be aware of.
No Touchscreen
If you’re used to touch input or want a more interactive display, you’ll miss that; this remains a traditional non-touch laptop.
Best Buy
Overkill for Some Users
If your usage is primarily web browsing, office apps, streaming media, etc., many of the high-end specs won’t be fully utilized — you might be better served by a lower-tier model and saving some cost.
Who This Is Best For
Professionals: video editors, photographers, music producers, software developers.
Power users who need fast disk access, lots of RAM, and a color-accurate, bright display.
Anyone who wants a future-proof MacBook: this spec should last several years for demanding tasks.
Users who value display quality and battery life together with strong performance.
The MacBook Pro 14-inch (M4, 24 GB / 1 TB) in Space Black is a very strong machine. It balances portability with serious power. If you need high throughput, large storage, and excellent display fidelity, it’s a great choice. If your tasks are lighter, you could get by with something less and invest the savings elsewhere.
I’d give it 4.5 out of 5 stars — nearly perfect for its target audience, with the caveat that price and size make it more than many need.

This MacBook is amazing. My review is very clouded by the fact my last purchase was in 2017 - MacBook Air. That lasted me all this time (Nov 2024). But because I had such an old system, and couldn’t update it past iOS 12.76, I probably think this is maybe more incredible than the average person. The charge it holds is maybe the best thing about it, honestly. I can go multiple days without charging it. I love the Touch ID, I didn’t know it’d have that and it’s super convenient for not just unlocking it, but also passwords and filling things in. I got it largely to use Lightroom, and it’s great for that as advertised. I also like the mirroring option with my phone. With all this said, I wish it was more affordable. The cost of these laptops are not accessible to the average person, and I had to get the credit card with a co-signer to be able to purchase it. In today’s world, it’s almost required to have technology. I wish they would make these things more affordable. I needed a new laptop and mine just couldn’t do the things I needed anymore, both personal and professional use. So objectively, it just made sense to upgrade to the best available option to secure another long term use out of my laptop. Apple, please make things more accessible to the average person with average income. Overall, it’s worth the hype in my opinion for what I need - but I will be paying for it for a very, very long time.

Apple never fails to impress me. It was time for me to upgrade from my previous macbook as the battery and hard drive space couldn’t handle what I needed and I had just started a new business. This new MacBook balanced everything I needed for my business and every day usage. It’s sleek, quick, lightweight and functions perfectly. The battery lasts FOREVER. Even after days of no use when I expect it to be dead, it still has plenty of life left

I decided to splurge on this computer to ensure that I wouldn't need a new one any time soon. I believe I made a good decision, this is easily the best computer I have ever had. It is incredibly fast, even while working on large datasets that give my work computer trouble. Additionally, the battery life is impressive. I often use it sporadically for over a week without even thinking about charging it.

This ain't just any ol' computer, no sir! This here's the real deal, built with that fancy new Apple M4 chip. They say it's "Built for Apple Intelligence," and I reckon they ain't lyin'. This thing runs smoother than a greased pig at a county fair.
First off, that Space Black color? Sheesh, it's purtier than a longhorn steer at sunset. And it feels sturdy too, like a good pair of boots that'll last ya a lifetime.
Now, 'bout that Apple M4 chip – bless its heart, it's faster than a jackrabbit on a hot griddle! I've been throwin' all sorts of work at it – video editin', fancy design stuff, even tryin' to figure out what my darn dog's thinkin' – and this machine don't even break a sweat. It just chews through it all like a cowboy on a steak dinner.
And that 24GB of memory? That's more room to work than a whole herd of cattle in a wide-open pasture. You can have a million things open at once, and it don't slow down one bit. Plus, with that 1TB SSD, your files load up faster than a tumbleweed in a tornado.

The MacBook Pro 14" with the M4 chip is incredibly fast and reliable. The 24GB RAM and 1TB SSD make multitasking effortless, and the display is stunning. Battery life lasts all day, and the Space Black finish looks amazing. Perfect for work and school.

I recently upgraded to the MacBook Pro 14-inch (M4, 24GB RAM, 1TB SSD) from Best Buy, and it has completely transformed my photo and video editing workflow. As someone who works with Adobe Lightroom and Premiere Pro daily, I needed a machine that could keep up with my workload—and this MacBook has exceeded my expectations.
First off, the M4 chip is an absolute powerhouse. In Lightroom, editing RAW files feels incredibly smooth, even when working with large batches of high-resolution photos. Scrolling through the library, applying presets, and making adjustments happen instantly, with no lag at all.
In Premiere Pro, I’ve noticed a huge improvement in playback and rendering speeds. Even when editing 4K footage with multiple layers, effects, and color grading, the timeline stays responsive, and exports are noticeably faster. I no longer have to deal with frustrating delays or choppy previews—it just works.
The Liquid Retina XDR display is another major win. The colors are accurate and vibrant, making it easier to fine-tune edits and ensure my final exports look exactly as intended. And with 24GB of RAM, I can run Lightroom, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop simultaneously without slowing down.
Battery life is insane—I can work for hours without worrying about finding an outlet, which is a lifesaver when I’m on the go. Plus, with 1TB of SSD storage, I have plenty of space for my active projects before archiving them to external drives.
If you’re a photographer, filmmaker, or content creator, this MacBook Pro is hands-down one of the best investments you can make. Best Buy made the whole process super easy, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase!

Apple makes the best laptops and this MacBook Pro is no exception! I needed to update a 2014 MacBook Air and upgraded to this MacBook Pro. It’s blindingly fast, sleek, and provides the high quality expected from Apple products. If you can, try to buy the upgrades (ie faster chip, bigger HD etc.,) to try and future proof it as long as possible. My Air is 10 years old & still usable, but I needed a faster chip & more HD space.

I’ve been using my MacBook for a while now, and I have to say—it lives up to the hype. It’s fast, lightweight, and handles everything I throw at it, from everyday tasks to heavier programs like video editing and music production. The battery life is impressive, and the screen is super sharp and vibrant, which makes working on it a pleasure.
The keyboard feels smooth, the trackpad is super responsive, and everything runs incredibly quiet. Plus, the build quality is top-tier—it’s sleek, solid, and looks great with my black cover case.
Yes, it’s on the pricier side, but if you’re looking for a laptop that lasts, performs, and keeps up with your work (or creative projects), the MacBook is a great choice. Highly recommend.

Upgrading from the M1 MacBook was the best decision! While the M1 was already a fantastic machine, this MacBook Pro with the M4 chip takes performance to a whole new level. The speed is incredible, making multitasking effortless, and the 24GB memory ensures seamless productivity. The 1TB SSD provides plenty of storage space, which is perfect for my needs. The sleek Space Black design is just the cherry on top. Absolutely worth it—Apple has truly outdone themselves!

Upgrading from a 2015 MacBook Air, I expected big differences and yet I am still blown away by the battery life, the vivid display and the ease of use. Haven’t gotten too much into the AI assist yet so we shall see how that goes.

I upgraded from the 2017 Macbook pro. This one is sleeker, faster and has all the memory that I need for work. I no longer need the external memory. I love Apple!
