Best budget laptop for heavy video editing and photo. Battery life is one of the best ever

Amazing laptop! Speed, power and excellent screen and battery life!

This MacBook is amazing. My review is very clouded by the fact my last purchase was in 2017 - MacBook Air. That lasted me all this time (Nov 2024). But because I had such an old system, and couldn’t update it past iOS 12.76, I probably think this is maybe more incredible than the average person. The charge it holds is maybe the best thing about it, honestly. I can go multiple days without charging it. I love the Touch ID, I didn’t know it’d have that and it’s super convenient for not just unlocking it, but also passwords and filling things in. I got it largely to use Lightroom, and it’s great for that as advertised. I also like the mirroring option with my phone. With all this said, I wish it was more affordable. The cost of these laptops are not accessible to the average person, and I had to get the credit card with a co-signer to be able to purchase it. In today’s world, it’s almost required to have technology. I wish they would make these things more affordable. I needed a new laptop and mine just couldn’t do the things I needed anymore, both personal and professional use. So objectively, it just made sense to upgrade to the best available option to secure another long term use out of my laptop. Apple, please make things more accessible to the average person with average income. Overall, it’s worth the hype in my opinion for what I need - but I will be paying for it for a very, very long time.

Apple devices are just built better. Great performance every time. Buyer beware though, buy the Apple care, period. This was a replacement for a less than a year old 16 Mac Pro, but the screen got broken. Tried so many places to get it fixed, but the parts are too new and no one had one. But that was not a product issue. Got left closed on the couch, blanket got set over it and my wifey gave it an atomic knee drop!

I mainly use it for music production. It takes a lot of power and this laptop not just loads eveyrhing pretry fast but also has such a big battery life

I got this to work on AI models. Local llms run in a fraction of the time compared to my earlier (and honestly incorrect for the purpose) macbook. I was open to any OS but it turns out this “expensive” device is cheaper than similar configs for other OSs so it was a no brainer to buy.

By far, the best MacBook I've ever owned. It's lightning fast, portable and VERY powerful!

So far I think this is probably the best computer I've ever owned. (I've owned a LOT!) Functions beautifully and fast. The battery life far exceeds anything I've previously experienced, but I'll be connecting a large external monitor to it and using it as my iMac replacement.

This is my 3rd MBP...these M4 chips are so much better than intel and the keyboard has a much better setup than the machine I bought in 2020. Long battery life. Machine stays nice and cool. Previous machine was constantly overheating, but this one stays cool. A much better build!

I upgraded from a MacBook Pro m3 that I was a little disappointed with and couldn’t be happier. The m4 pro is better in every way. My only quibble is the exorbitant price apple charges for upgrading memory and ram. It’s a great product just offer it with better base memory.

The MacBook Pro is a very good product. I prefer it more than the MacBook Air even though it is a little heavier. It has more connectivity / ports and just seems built better. I also prefer a MacBook over a Windows PC. Less issues doing updates.

Its great as i ise it like my other macbook but it has more memory, greater storage capacity, and works faster. I still have my m1 pro as well. Both serve my uses well.

I love this Macbook Pro. I use it for Production/DJ and it is a work-horse. The battery outlasts any laptop I've ever purchased.

This is my first MacBook! I've been saving for a long time to get this and I have zero regrets. This will replace my 16 year desktop and then some. I am looking forward to years of productivity with my MacBook. It's super fast and the graphics are crisp and clear. Great investment if you can afford it.

Absolutely LOVE this MacBook Pro! I have another PC with 64GB of RAM and the MacBook Pro can keep up with it easily. I find I use it as much if not more than my PC. By adding Parallels, I am able to run both Apple and PC applications. Couldn't be more happy!

I have had it for over a week and a half & have used photoshop, Lightroom, and some heavy power softwares. I have not had a single problem other than maybe my Lightroom app itself syncing, but I don’t think that was the laptop itself. I am so happy I purchased this as an upgrade. I can get work done faster & on the go. Sleek design, screen looks great. If you are a photographer or videographer I recommend this laptop. I haven’t tried using adobe premiere or Final Cut Pro just yet, but I have a feeling it won’t be lagging or causing disruption. Battery life using photoshoot & lightroom has been good. I’m not sure if I’m just not optimizing it fully, but the battery using heavy powered softwares hasn’t been what I was expecting from other reviews. It’s still good though, but I was assuming it would last a full 48 hours. That’s probably only for web surfing & lower powered softwares/use.
