Ive been through so many windows gaming laptops (for the graphics power) and just have had no good experience with the hardware/software, battery life, bugs and freezes(Alienware x15, Lenovo slim7i, Asus g15) so I decided to just go back with Apple after having having my 2015 13" MBP to this day with no issues. I decided to go with the extra cost and get the m2 max which is overkill for me and I'm not looking back. I couldn't be happier with the build quality, performance and battery life. This thing is just great and works flawlessly. Kicks my Desktop 12700k 32gb 3070ti in davinci and is just as snappy in everything else besides Games. Screen is the best in the house and looks absolutely amazing. The 30 core gpu is better than the 3060 in my Legion slim 7i and gets full power unplugged unlike the Lenovo which makes games unplayable on battery and significant performance loss altogether. From my past experience Apple has pretty good customer service from when I had my 16" MacBook 2019 and the 5300m failed I had it sent off repaired and back within a week. As for my Lenovo slim 7i the Nvidia gpu failed while I had it in dgpu mode and it was at there service center for a few weeks and it was returned to me with a screw missing in the heatsink and a huge bulge in the bottom panel because the tech didn't properly tuck the battery cable where it goes along with the battery bracket broken and said they wanted pics of it before I had sent it to them in order to repair it again. Basically what I'm getting at is I've always had a good experience with Apple products. From their Phone's iPad's to the 13" 2015 MacBook Pro that I still use and customer service everything's just worked as I expected with little to no hiccups. I believe this laptop will last as long as any other Apple product I've had and I'm completely satisfied with this expense.

While the new M3 model has just been announced. I have no regrets on purchasing this M2 Max model. I’m able to complete any task I use it for. Video editing in Adobe Premiere, using Microsoft Office to create spreadsheets and word docs. Photo editing in Lightroom. Anything.
It’s smooth, fast, portable, the mini LEDs looks amazing and clean. And the battery life!!! Best thing about it.
If you find this on sale, I strongly suggest it.

Windows user opinion about MacBook Pro M2 Max

Performance: The M2 Max Macbook Pro is a powerhouse, leaving my high-end desktop in the dust when it comes to content creation. For instance, running DaVinci Resolve was a revelation — smoother than silk. Remarkably, it slashed my video rendering times by two-thirds, clocking in at just 4 minutes compared to a lengthy 12 minutes on my desktop. And the Cinebench R23 multicore score? An impressive 15,000.
Battery Life: Straight out of the box at 60%, this Macbook is an endurance athlete. It handled a full OS upgrade and a marathon of benchmarks without even breaking a sweat, with 45% battery to spare. It's reassuring to know I can leave my charger at home and still power through an entire day.
Display: The HDR display is a feast for the eyes, outshining my Sony OLED TV in both brightness and dynamic range. Everything from scrolling to animations is buttery smooth, and the clarity is nothing short of striking. Even reflections are a non-issue, making outdoor use a breeze.
Keyboard: Transitioning from a Logitech keyboard to the Macbook Pro's is an adjustment, with its shallower key travel feeling a bit like typing on a plank. It's a different tactile experience that I'm still acclimating to.
Trackpad: Simply put, it's the best trackpad I've ever encountered. The responsiveness and precision are unmatched, making every interaction a pleasure.
Ports: The abundance of ports on this Macbook Pro deserves a shoutout. With such a versatile array, I'm prepared for any connective scenario. It's like having a Swiss Army knife at my fingertips.

I went with the space grey 14" m2 max 32gb & 1tb ssd and it's an absolute beast of a machine and overkill for many myself included at times.
I am a tad bit OCD when it comes to my workflow so having 32gb RAM allows me to have multiple spaces open, each with different desktops running different programs or applications simultaneously without having any performance drops all while keeping my desktop nice and clean of clutter.
The 1tb ssd is fantastic, I have more than enough space for all my programs, applications and multiple days worth of shooting before thinking of moving files to my main desktop or onto external drives.
I got this macbook as an upgraded from my i5 8gb 128gb storage 2017 macbook pro and some of the other small featues i love are:
SD Card slot- great for not having to carry around an extra adapter or dongle.
hdmi port - also great for hooking up the mac to a large monitor AND for not having to carry around an adapter or dongle.
battery life- for how bright the display is, the battery lift is significantly better. i have only had to charge mine twice.. so far.
This specific model serves me in having more of a all in one work station on the go. I don't have to carry any additional dongles or adapters to connect my gear, the only adapter I carry now is my cfxpress card reader and with the thunderbolt ports it makes transferring large files a breeze!

The best laptop I've ever owned. I have used a variety of Windows laptops over the past 13 or 14 years, but this time I wanted to have a MacBook. This Macbook M2 Max is a beast notebook. I've been using it for a month, and the performance is speedy and exceptional for coding and heavy software running. The picture and sound quality are outstanding. The price is steep, but it is worthwhile to purchase. It comes highly recommended by me.

When it comes to Apple, build quality and durability is self evident. The M2 chip has been blazing fast and I feel it will last me many years of use. Especially, with 32gb of ram and 1TB of storage. If you can afford it, this would be the best MacBook in regards to size and power. You won't regret it, I don't.

Refreshed my 2019 13" Macbook Pro with this model. I actually liked the touchbar concept although it was a bit buggy. This new model seems like a lot better quality. It's fast, great looking, and I'm loving the extra screen real estate.

After decades of Windows machines and 3 frustrating years with a top of the line Dell 15" XPS 9500 laptop, I bought this MacBook Pro. It is solid and has more than enough power for what I do. I happened to buy an open box item and was in flawless condition. The battery had only been charged twice before. I actually prefer this size, 14" instead of 15". Just right.

Love everything about my MacBook Pro. As a graphic designer, it's perfect for using my Adobe apps, including my motion graphics apps. The display, speed, and even sound quality is on point. Keith at the Best Buy in Menifee, CA was the most helpful and knowledgeable person I've ever had the good fortune to meet.

If you’re moving off your Intel MacBook pro I would strong suggest this I honestly thought the 14 inch M2 Pro Max wouldn’t be be as powerful as my works M1 Pro Max 16 inch..I was wrong it’s more powerful, I just wish now Apple made a display to match the display that the labtop has because this display is really good. Like insane good it makes the studio display look like a total failure that’s how good this display is in the laptop

It was a huge step up from my old MacBook Pro which was quad four and basically had only 1 hr. of battery life. This MacBook Pro M2 Max has massive speed, battery life lasts crazy long hours and overall, it’s an phenomenal laptop that will last for many years. Is it expensive, astronomically so but it’ll last 7-10 years minimum. Anything that is seriously such high quality with impressive power and battery life for close to a day, this is a laptop that will grow with you as your skills and abilities grow and is worth having and worth the expense.

I got this as a work computer and was looking for a mac that would able to handle anything I could throw it's way. After having it for over a year, I've had no issues and it has far exceeding anything I could've asked for. Definitely pricey, but I feel that I have yet to really stress it with anything I've ever run on it.

The 2023 MacBook Pro is basically a dream come true for tech enthusiasts; it's slick, fast, and oh-so-pretty. Whether you're editing your latest YouTube video or binge-watching a new series, the retina display makes everything pop with stunning clarity. And let's talk speed — this machine is a beast, handling even the heaviest of tasks without breaking a sweat. Its battery life? Simply fantastic, letting you work (or play) long into the night without scrambling for a charger. This MacBook Pro isn't just a laptop; it's a game-changer.

As a drone cinematographer and video editor, this laptop accomplishes all the tasks I throw at it. I have yet to have a hiccup or issue with any of the programs I use including Final Cut, Photoshop, Garage Band, etc. Apple simply is the best when it comes to content creation. Highly recommend the Macbook Pro with Apple's M chipsets.

Dropped some nice coin and purchased the best Mac book pro I could afford and one that meets my needs. Even with the leftover gift cards from birthday/Christmas it still cost a pretty penny. But this will be a dedicated video and photo editor, so wifey and the kids won’t be allowed to get their grubby hands on it. With 1TB of hard drive space, not too worried about storage; always backup to a secondary as a precaution. Read/write speeds are fast. Photo editing via Lightroom or photoshop and multitasking between the two are silky smooth. even when working with RAW files adding layers, adjustments, sliders, etc are a breeze and almost instantaneous. Viewing drone footage from max settings on DJI magic air 2: no hiccups so far…also: playing around with Dj mixing software (Serato on Hercules) so much fun. In the short time that I’ve had this Mac, I haven’t been disappointed; slight learning curve going from windows to iOS, but there’s built in tutorials for the Mac and also Lightroom/photoshop. Very pleasantly surprised and overall happy with this purchase. If you’re hesitating on pulling the trigger, go for it and consider it an investment in your future

Great decision buying this. Was always a big Apple consumer but a few years ago switched to Microsoft Surface. Computer was great but noticed it gets outdated quickly and upgrades become unavailable. Anyways, that lead me to go back to Apple and I wanted the best available upgrades and it was well worth it! This is quite the machine. Never gets hot no matter how much I'm using the computer. Very fast and efficient. Highly recommend.

Even after two years of owning this monster, I still think it's the fastest computer I've ever had. It's incredibly stable, very well-designed, and the sound quality is through the roof.
