First MacBook I’ve had since 2015ish. Got it to go back to school and do some light strategy gaming/web browsing on the couch.

We have been big supporters of Apple products and have been very happy with their dependability.

I will start off by saying that Macs are not generally my thing. That said, I teach technology courses so I do tend to keep a Mac around so that I can help others troubleshoot, etc. That is the main reason I got this device, I didn't expect to use it a ton. However, after using the Macbook Pro for a week, I now use it as my preferred device for a lot of my daily work activities. As with any Mac, the display quality and the build quality are superb. Battery life is unmatched by any Windows device. These things are the main reason it has replaced my Windows device as my 'daily worker'. Overall, this has exceeded my expectations and is a fantastic machine. I know that I can leave it in my bag for a couple days and still count on it having a decent charge when I need to get it out and use it. The fingerprint reader works very well, the keys feel nice to type on, the trackpad is even bearable to use (still prefer a mouse). That said, lets look at some of the cons. If you are looking for gaming then look elsewhere. 80% of my Steam library is unplayable in MacOS. I can use Parallels to open up a bit more of that, but even with that most newer titles are still unplayable on a Mac. So gaming is a major flop still. I tend to do a lot at once on my computers. I will hook this up to my TV plus an external monitor, have several different applications open, countless tabs in chrome/safari, and often some sort of video playing (probably more than the average user). I have seen it slow down a little more often than my Windows PC would under similar load. It has locked up on me twice in the week that I have been using it. Both times were when connecting to a docking station though - so it could have been other hardware issues. It is also worth noting that I am comparing a $3100 Macbook Pro to a $2000 Razer Blade. With the price difference, I SHOULD have many good things to say about the Mac. The price/performance for the M2 Max model just isn't there. That said, the M2 or M2 Pro are much better on that metric and would likely still be perfectly fine for my use; all technology is similar in that the top models often are not worth the premium price that goes with it. Ultimately, I was pleasantly surprised by the MacBook Pro. I would recommend it to most people (though probably the M2 or M2 Pro instead of the Max).

It's a MacBook Pro if you know anything about Apple they make good quality stuff

I owned this product for less than 2 weeks. I had it on charge for about 5 days, as it is a secondary computer bought for video and music production/editing. I went to log in one night and the finger scan did not function, prompting me for my password. I have my password written down in two locations. I tried unsuccessfully for an hour to log in, making sure CAPS lock was off and taking into consideration every other possibility. Nothing worked. I was then on Apple Customer service for an additional hour and a half, and found them to be completely incompetent. They had a hard time understanding simple sentence structure and were clearly reading off a flow chart. When I asked for confirmation of their skillset, so that I could stop wasting time, they began blatantly lying. I ended up terminating the Service call and returned the $3,000 product the next day and have no plans to buy another Apple laptop again. They are renowned for being overpriced, the customer service is a wash for anyone that knows how to use a basic search engine, and their products apparently fail to pass quality control. If you ignore this review, good luck! I'm rating the product 1 star across the board as you can't rate a non-functional product.
