Wow. Totally let down by this purchase. Issues from day 1. Spent more time with support than I care to admit. I produce audio and video commercials. Siple 15-30 second pieces. This laptop struggles with it. Mouse starts skipping programs freeze and don’t operate correctly. Also —- Connection issues with USB C. SSD and HDD not recognized. Audio interface issues. Gotta plug in unit EVERY-TIME- apple has no answers. Did I get a bad unit? My old windows PC with far less ram etc handled these jobs with no problem.

I bought this for grad school and software/dev work and it’s been flawless. The M3 Pro absolutely flies through coding, multiple Chrome/IDE windows, and light 4K edits while staying cool and nearly silent. Battery comfortably gets me through a full class day plus homework. The 14" Liquid Retina XDR display is a stunner—120Hz makes scrolling silky, HDR video looks professional, and text is razor sharp. I also love the practical ports: MagSafe, three Thunderbolt 4, HDMI, and an SD card slot—no more dongle juggling. Speakers sound rich for a laptop, the 1080p camera is clear for Zoom, and the keyboard/trackpad are best-in-class. The 1TB SSD is super fast and gives me room for projects and media. Pros: blistering performance; cool/quiet; gorgeous 120Hz XDR screen; long battery; useful ports; excellent speakers/camera. Cons: premium price; a bit heavier than an ultra-light; heavy multitaskers may prefer 36GB RAM. Bottom line: If you need a compact pro machine that just works all day, this is it. I’d buy it again and highly recommend it.

Best Buy has really dropped the ball with quality control on their open box MacBooks. Ordered two; returned both. First - defective display. Second - dirty / missing power adapter and MagSafe cable. Given attitude at Grove City Ohio store when returned. Acted like they did me a favor taking it back. No effort to make the situation right. Save your money and buy refurbished from Apple Store.

The build quality is impeccable, with the solid aluminum unibody construction feeling substantial without being cumbersome. ### Performance The M3 Pro chip with its 12-core CPU and 18-core GPU is a powerhouse. With 18GB of unified memory, this machine handles everything I've thrown at it: - Video editing in Final Cut Pro with multiple 4K streams - Photo editing in Lightroom and Photoshop with large RAW files - Software development with multiple virtual machines running - Music production with dozens of tracks and plugins What's most impressive is how it handles these tasks without breaking a sweat. The fans rarely kick in, and when they do, they're whisper-quiet. The laptop remains cool even during intensive tasks. ### Display The 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display is breathtaking. With its high resolution (3024×1964) and exceptional brightness, everything from movies to photos looks stunning. The ability to maintain performance while on battery is a game-changer - there's no throttling when unplugged. ### Storage & Connectivity The 1TB SSD is blazingly fast, with read/write speeds that make file transfers nearly instantaneous. The return of ports is welcome - three Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI, SD card slot, and MagSafe for charging give me all the connectivity I need without dongles. ### Keyboard & Trackpad The keyboard offers a satisfying typing experience with good key travel and feedback. The large Force Touch trackpad remains the best in the industry, with precise tracking and useful gestures. ### Audio The six-speaker sound system delivers impressive audio quality with rich bass and clear highs. For a laptop, it's remarkably immersive, though I still connect external speakers for critical listening. ### Built for Apple Intelligence This model is specifically built to support Apple Intelligence features, which are starting to roll out. The few AI features I've tested so far are impressively fast and seamlessly integrated into the system. ### Minor Considerations - Price: It's a significant investment, but the performance and quality justify the cost for professionals - Heat: While generally cool, the bottom can get warm during sustained heavy workloads - Not user-upgradable: Choose your configuration wisely at purchase time ### Who Should Buy This? It delivers desktop-class performance in a portable package with exceptional battery life and a gorgeous display. While not inexpensive, it's a workhorse that will likely remain powerful and relevant for years to come, making it a sound investment for professionals and serious enthusiasts.

Great computer. Incompetent Best Buy workers tagging stock box due to lazy inventory management. Spend over $2k to have your gift tagged in permanent markings and Best Buy will not fix after waiting a week for the computer to arrive at the local store.

Perfect laptop for coding. Handles multiple IDEs and Docker containers with zero lag. The M3 Pro chip compiles code incredibly fast, and the battery lasts all day even during intense development sessions. The 18GB RAM makes multitasking smooth when running servers and testing environments. Space Black looks clean in my workspace. Expensive but a solid investment for developers.

I have owned Apple Mac hardware in the past, but I quit macOS after the PowerPC era. Just didn't see the point in buying a commodity PC. The touch strip that Apple introduced only solidified my desire to stay away from that... Well, things have changed. I had been using a Dell XPS 13 Plus for the last year or so, and it's been great, but I had some issues with it: * Small screen. My eyes are not getting any better... * No physical ESC key. Yeah, Dell decided to do a touch bar but without the cool programmability. * Keyboard left something to be desired. It turns out, gapless keys seem to lead to more fat-fingering. What I wanted was a 14" laptop with a great display, a great keyboard, and a row of physical function keys (including ESC). A modern processor architecture would be nice. This MacBook Pro won me over compared to the new Dell 14" and 16" XPS models. What I've been most impressed with, aside from the fantastic typing experience, is the speed. Stuff that I build and tested under Ubuntu Linux on the XPS 13 Plus just builds and runs so much faster on the MacBook Pro -- I ran one benchmark on some of my code and noticed that the Mac was over 10x faster on one test, and that was with the Mac on battery power. Speaking of, this thing is rated for 18 hours of battery life, but I can report that it may exceed this if you sleep the machine periodically. Definitely don't run connected to the charger all the time! Full disclosure: This is the un-binned M3 Pro model with 18 GB of RAM and no disabled cores. I would have liked to get 32+GB of RAM, but Best Buy didn't stock those, and the Apple tax is pretty high for those configurations.

This MacBook Pro is very fast on responses. It is very thin. It is a little on the heavy side. With 1TB it is easy to store all of your documents, photos and Apps. The battery is amazing. It can last all day and still have power level to spare. I have had 3 MacBooks over the years and this one is top of the list in all areas, The cooling fan is not even heard. So quiet.

The build quality of this laptop is second-to-none. It far exceeds the build quality of corporate grade PC offerings, such as Lenovo’s Thinkpad which have declined in quality substantially after the T480 series. Battery life is phenomenal, so far I’m getting about 24hrs per charge when using it for light tasks (word processing, spreadsheets). Multitasking with video playback, web browsing and office applications brings that down to about 15hrs, but is still impressive. The display clarity, color correctness and quality as well as the deep, rich, bass heavy audio of the built in speakers blows any other PC laptop I’ve ever used out of the water. Even under moderate use the machine never gets warm, and the cooling fans are completely silent. A massive improvement over a PC X64 laptop which sounds like a harrier jump-jet taking off every time you launch a task. As a life-long PC (Windows and Linux) user I don’t regret switching to Apple for my laptop and productivity needs. I’ll still keep a toe in MS Windows with a Flight Simulator rig. But for all other tasks, ARM based Apple Silicon is much faster, loads more power efficient.

This product is increasingly reliable. With my current usage, I am able to charge the laptop once per week. The battery life is unparalleled to any other laptop I have ever used. The Space Black color is phenomenal. I am very thankful that Best Buy had this product in stock. I scored a gracious deal on the MacBook and I look forward to the years ahead with this productivity machine.
