The Near Bezel-less display is sheer perfection. Color reproduction is impeccable and helps while editing videos and photos on the go. If resolution is what you are after, the retina display will not disappoint. Text and video is crisp with details in high MP cameras being retained. This is a creative persons dream.
The i7 - Six Core Chip has plenty of power to keep you working swiftly. GPU accelerated by the Radeon Pro 555X you will experience relatively shorter encoding times. I've seen my productivity increase because of this pair. When you are ready to kick it back, the duo also does a great job of playing your favorite games at relatively high settings. Just be aware, the resolution is pretty high so don't expect it to run AAA games at max settings.
My only complaint is the lack of expandability. I hate that the SSD is soldered on the board, and at 256 GB that isn't much. However, I do most of my editing off an external SSD so capacity is unlimited. Paired that with installing non-essential apps on the SSD as well and you will have no problems with storage. It's just that whatever capacity you pick is pretty permanent when it comes to on board memory.
The aluminum chassis is perfect. It is thin, rigid and light. It is what every laptop should be. I don't mind the keyboard...I just hope they have fixed most of the issues.
Overall, this is a near perfect laptop and a creative persons dream. I'm very happy with the purchase and have been using it every day since I bought it.

Love this MacBook Pro 15in. It’s sleek, light, and very fast. I’m hoping it will last me as long as my early 2011 MacBook Pro. Boot up is quick and easy and the fingerprint or Apple Watch login is slick. My only disappointment with these laptops is that we cannot upgrade the memory or hard drive ourselves anymore. That was how I got my old MacBook Pro to last so long. I got it for $400 off during one of the sales Best Buy had making it a great price. I only wish I had gotten the larger hard drive. Backing up all my devices made it nearly run out of memory.

I've been a huge Apple user forever. This Macbook Pro really is worth the money... I love my 27" Mac, but needed something for travel and this does everything I need it to and more. It's incredibly fast, lightweight considering its size, and has a great screen. Love the touchbar feature too!

I originally had an air but I wanted an upgrade to a bigger screen, resolution & performance. This laptop did all that & im very happy with my purchase. It’s very light and easy to travel and carry around. The battery life is great & the touchpad is actually really handily and convenient.

Got this Used in “Excellent” quality at Best Buy during Presidents’ Day. Only had 3 cycles on battery and cost $1800. Replaced a 2012 non-retina MBP that I had upgraded a few times. The performance is great and the build quality is quite impressive. It feels light even at 4 lbs. Despite my initial thoughts, I actually really love the keyboard. I type faster and more accurately (I sometimes use a magic keyboard at home because I have a setup). My wife has a 2017 air through work and she also prefers the new keyboard. I have a coworker with a 2017 MBP who had the stuck key problem, but hoping the update in the 2018 saves me from that fate. Overall, great machine and plan to have it for years.

This is my third MacBook Pro and thus far it has not disappointed. Excellent speed, graphics and overall performance, plus it is considerably lighter than the model I upgraded from. While I do miss the cd drive, all other qualities seem to make up for that.

I am writing this review on the Mack daddy core i9 32GB RAM 1TB SSD and RADEON 560 and I absolutely love it.. When I bought this computer I'm reviewing only one of the backlights on the keyboard worked, so it really worked out because I ended up returning it and buying the one I really wanted, but they were out of these MacBook Pros like all the way across the country and this was the only one left in town because I've got a 256 SSD in my phone so I figured being the webmaster and it admin for an internet company, I may need a little more than I could fit on my iPhone X and I will say this about the difference between the i7 and the i9 is that the multitasking on the i9 is WELL worth the money because the above mentioned kept just freezing up on me like it was overloaded at times and it would get very hot and I've heard that these machines are not even clocking at their base speed, not to mention the Intel TurboBoost that's supposed to take them up even further but I had a 2016 MBP and the fans and heat that came off of it were nearly dangerous if you left it on the bed to go brush your teeth or use the bathroom it would be so hot you almost couldn't touch it but supposedly they had a firmware glitch and they're clocking a lot closer to their base speed, but I can tell you that for $300 the upgrade to the i9 is a much cooler and smoother running machine.. I know that the one I'm reviewing is essentially the base model for people who don't deal with a lot of data or run large programs that eat up a ton of ram and processor, but if you multitask like I do and you don't want the heat, I'm much more fond of my i9... I think Intel is really onto something with the i9 now in these MBPs... Hope this helps!!

I've used primarily Apple laptops for the last 15 years and while it would be unfair to say this is a bad laptop, it has many irritating design choices that make it by far the least favorite Apple laptop I've bought mostly because it's filled with irritating gimmicks. It's still assembled better than any Windows laptop I've handled including Surface and Razer products. Much of what has made Apple successful over the last ten years is here but, with caveats that make it a bit harder to recommend to absolutely everybody. I think it's still a good choice if you want a quiet, reasonably powerful, boutique 15" laptop. However to pay full price would be ridiculous. Wait for this to always be on sale for 20% off or so. I wouldn't spend more than 2 grand on it.
Pros:
Display quality -Very sharp, bright, no bleed, and anti-glare
Battery life - Very strong for a large machine like this 7.5hrs+
Noise - Even when gaming or doing demanding work it's quiet
Portable - About as thin and light as a 15" laptop can get
Cons:
Keyboard - It's clearly a flawed design but it feels okay I guess
TouchBar - Utterly pointless and less useful than just having keys
GPU - The 555x is bad, especially at this size class and price. I only use it to play Counter Strike which runs well though. Apex Legends and Fortnite don't run well.
Ports - I don't need HDMI, SD cards, or anything like that but not having a regular USB port is supremely inconvenient. Similarly thin laptops still maintain it. At least they're ThunderBolt capable.

It’s my second Mac book pro and I love it. It’s fast, light weight, compact and it operates very smooth. For the price it should have more ports, you shouldn’t have to purchase a USBC adapter to add more ports. It’s Apple what can you expect?

I must say this is the device that I needed. I am coming off a Dell XPS 13 2015. I had been shopping around for a laptop for about two weeks. I went through four laptops before making the decision to just purchase the MBP 15. I love it so far! I am already in the Apple "ecosystem" (iPhone, iPad, Watch and now MBP) so the seamless experience is awesome! This MBP is fast and runs all my programs for data analysis great! I'm just upset that I didn't purchase sooner. I guess the great sale ($400 off) that Best Buy had made my decision easier because let's face it, it's an expensive device! I do not regret my purchase and would recommend this device to anyone that is looking for a fast, powerful, laptop with a beautiful design.

I've been using my laptop consistently at minimum 4-5 times a week. With a minimum of 2 hours each usage (Not Battery, battery typically last me a minimum of 3 plus hours depending on my current tasks). It's a nice looking laptop for sure & it's also fast tbh. It will burn through the battery quite fast but in my case I don't mind it because of the editing programs I run. Overall I do recommend it, the touch bar is a really neat feature making my typing faster & remembering my personal shortcut text, example omw (on my way). It depends if your willing to spend the quite heavy price tag it has but I'm sure there are laptops out there just as good or better.

I originally had a 2011 Macbook Pro all the way up until the beginning of 2019 and it finally gave out. I think they're a great investment because of the time I spent with my old one. It had a great life on it and I always recommend people to buy Macbooks. The new touchbar is a great feature and some of the new controls were a little different and took a little bit to get used to but now I love it! The one downside is that you need to buy the extra port for the side if you want to connect your iphone with a cord or anything HDMI/USB/Memory card related. It's also very lightweight compared to the models in the past.

If you’re already a Mac owner only if you have a 2015 model or older and you’ve been thinking about upgrading I absolutely recommend pulling the trigger on the 2018. I went from a 13” 2015 to the new 15” and the extra screen real estate is way better. The touch bar grew on me and now I love it. I completely ditched my Bluetooth speaker for my old Mac because the built in speakers on the 2018 are ridiculously good. Runs everything I need fast and without a hitch. Despite the complaints out there I actually enjoy the keyboard!!

After nearly one month of ownership and daily use, I am very satisfied with my purchase. If you are looking for cutting edge technology at a fair price, you are looking at the wrong product. The MacBook Pro received a massive performance boost for 2018, but that alone is no reason to spend the $2400+ on a 15" MacBook Pro when you could easily purchase a windows machine with similar or better specs for $1000 less.
That does not mean the extra money spent on a MacBook Pro is a waste. What really makes the price worth it is the ecosystem that comes with apple products. While the hardware can be had on a windows machine for much less money, you will certainly miss out on OS-X and the seamless integration of other mainstream Apple products such as the iPhone and iPad.
Before I decided to purchase the 2018 15" MacBook Pro, I was a diehard Android/Samsung phone user. I was extremely happy with my Note 8 and was ready to upgrade to the Note 9. My only Apple product was an iPad Mini 4 which was necessary for work (I am a pilot and the only authorized tablets to be used in flight are iPads for my aircraft). After seeing just how well my iPad worked with my new MacBook Pro, I decided it was time to buy an iPhone XS.
Since then I have made the switch from my home cloud server that I was using, to a 2TB iCloud subscription that makes transferring files from my Apple devices effortless.
I use my MacBook Pro for average things, as well as some programming (python, ruby, swift), and some design work (front end, adobe illustrator, etc). The MacBook Pro is by far the best machine I have used for my programming and design tasks. I look back on all the times I had to find workarounds for my Lenovo and Dell machines to perform simple programming tasks and realize how stupid I was for not switching to Mac earlier.
Overall, I am blown away by the ecosystem, and the performance that comes with the 2018 Macbook Pro. The device itself is elegant and refined. There is some discussions ongoing about thermal throttling and keyboard issues that may arise due to dust or debris getting inside the membrane underneath each key. I have yet to experience any of these issues. I have given the MacBook Pro 4 stars instead of 5 due to the potential lingering problems that may pop up in the future. It does appear to be a legitimate concern for most users, and it certainly has been a common issue. I have monitored my CPU temperature while programming, compiling, doing design work, and while benchmarking. I have not seen my MacBook Pro thermal throttle, nor has my performance be substandard during any task. It appears to really only be an issue with the i9 machine while doing heavy 4k rendering and edits.
If you are really worried about the keyboard issues purchase Apple Care + within 60 days of your purchase date so that you will be covered for an additional two years of warranty.
If you are not too worried about having an issue then purchase your new MacBook Pro with a credit card that provides you with purchase protection. My Visa Signature card offers me an additional year of warranty coverage on my MacBook Pro for free.
I would not hesitate to purchase this MacBook Pro again. My only regret was not being an Apple user before I made the purchase.

Even though the screen is not touchscreen the touch bar slightly makes up the difference. There are many shortcuts and knit knacks to be very user-friendly.
To fit many pages open on the screen, you have to manually size if it is more than two pages you are trying to view.
The keyboard is not as type friendly because the keys are too flat in height and very close to one another, which makes it difficult to feel the difference without looking.
The bar at the top of page remains at the top regardless of what is opened and is very convenient to minimize space needed to view pages.
A deal breaker is needed for attachments. It is great that the design is simple and can use any attachments from a DVD player, USB, HDMI, lightning, etc., you are not limited to something that's built-in.
I have used windows and Chromebooks before and is conflicted with the applications and keypad, but the MacBook is very convenient, stylish, lightweight, has a lot of space, and runs very smoothly.
I really enjoy the simplicity of the MacBook Pro 15 inch and is excited to learn more shortcuts.

I can only say great things. I love this laptop. It is sleek, and the battery life if great, not sure why others seem to state it does not stay on long. It is lightweight, looks beautiful and very very fast. Every time I take it out, I get complimented on it. I trust Lenovo and my home computer is lenovo. It is a company that won me over years ago with their outstanding customer service. I also love love the keyboard. I am very satisfied with this purchase and do commend. I did a lot of research and looking, but if you want a great, fast, sleek, laptop, you cannot go wrong.

This is my second MacBook Pro- my former employer purchased it for me and allowed me to keep it when he let me go due to Covid. I wanted a 15 inch screen because I often felt limited by the 13 in on my older MacBook. The larger screen is great and the camera quality is phenomenal, however it does affect portability. The majority of the time it's on my desk hooked up to two 24 in. monitors, but if you need to take it somewhere and work on your lap- it's a bit cumbersome. I don't find the touchpad to be that essential, and prefer the older style keyboard, which I believe Apple is returning to, but I love the large trackpad. I also miss the old ports- had to purchase 3 adapter/dongles to get all of my peripherals to work, which cost an additional $150. All that being said- it's a great workhorse, super fast, juggles multiple programs at a time without a hitch.
