Better than predecessors, but still overpriced

With the Best Buy sale price combined with the student discount, I think this was only a few hundred overpriced compared to some of the high end Window's counterparts. The specs are leaps and bounds better than previous models and the fit and finish are premium as ever. Get ready to drop some money on a Thunderbolt 3 dock or lots of dongles though. You really have to weigh out if this is right for your wallet versus as capable, or better Windows machines for less money.

I updated my late 2013 MBP to this beauty and it's quite an upgrade. I think it's slightly overpriced given how much RAM it has, but that's the Mac tax. I even like the new keyboard.

I had the mid 2011 mbp upgraded to the 2018 mbp... a bit pricey but if it last as long as my 2011 well worth it ... my 2011 is still running

The price is a little higher than apple retail sale, but when I got it, still impressed by this good looking Mac Pro.

This was an extreme amoynt of money and it is not very effective for everyday use. There is no adaptor for hdmi, headphone etc. You have to purchase other adaptors which are also pricy. There is no drive to burn discs as well. Overall it was a terrible investment and not worth the pile of money.

I have been wanting an apple computer for a long time, and this one lives up to all of my expectations. A little bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. The touch bar is a very nice touch!

I bought this to be my primary computer for music production. This computer performs perfectly. The only drawback is that only having TB3 ports can become expensive because the apple adapters can be pricey.

I can't comment on the actual computer at the moment because I haven't used it yet. After the initial setup (which took an annoyingly long amount of time), I was looking forward to transferring data from my external drive onto the computer. I wasn't able to, however, because the USB-C to USB adapter I purchased did not work (my external is USB). I'm still not sure if this is a computer issue or faulty adapter issue. My main disappointment lies in the fact that Apple has decided to make things unnecessarily more complicated and more expensive by designing this computer without a built-in USB option. This issue is not a Best Buy issue, it is an issue I have with Apple. I do not believe any newer models of their computers have a built-in USB option (to my knowledge) and it is what it is. This fact has cost me additional money, time, frustration, and problems though. At this price-point, I feel design should be more well-rounded and user-friendly.

Apple May have out done themselves with this new MacBook Pro by not only appealing to professionals and creative audiences but to the wider public. The design is fantastic with a slim light body. The Touch Bar displays button that change depending on the application or task to give quick short cut for workflow. The lack of ports is one con and the pricing is in line with Apple's quality and technology.

Apple has done it again: another amazing laptop. This is my first MacBook Pro and as the old saying goes "Once you go Mac, you never go back". It is super fast and I know it will handle my workload for (hopefully) 8-10 years. It is expensive but you get what you pay for.

This laptop is excellent. It handles Davinci Resolve and affinity photo without much trouble. Even when running dual 24inch monitors the fan doesn't kick in. Expensive but you can't beat apple quality. I would definitely recommend.

Upgrade from 2009 MB pro. I had the 2017 MB pro; but not happy with performance. Now this 2018 model is way improved. Yes, very expensive, but it works flawlessly. Especially for video editing as the main reason I went with this model.

I purchased this computer for $2600 when it was on sale and the salesman promised it could handle whatever I throw at it. All I did was open garage band and the fan was overheating and loud. Unless you're doing anything other than internet browsing, Microsoft Office, or something basic don't bother. You're paying for the apple logo. I bought this computer to run an animation software and if it can't garage band which works on any smartphone phone without drastically overheating, no thanks! Switched to Alienware.

I preferred windows to macOS for years. Recently I decided to switch to Mac because of my infatuation with my Apple Watch and iPhone. The harmonious interaction of all the devices makes the software shortcomings tolerable. As for the computer itself it handles everything I throw at it from photo touchups tp video rendering. Expensive but you can't beat apple quality. I would definitely recommend.

This laptop is replacing 2012 13 inch Retina display MacBook Pro which is going great after being used 8 plus hours daily, had to replace battery last year. Everything is great about this laptop except the price, it is too high in my opinion, it should have least 1 tb drive at this price point. This is apple theme lately to provide less then premium content at premium price. Once one pass this price shock, things are better. Screen is good keyboard is better than last year model, daughter has 2017 13 inch mbp. Time will tell how long it will last. Setting up is done by importing Everything from backup, this is best thing I like about Mac OS X, absolutely no time wasted. every app, shortcut in place. In new machine. This is work laptop so any time not spent is time gain. I keep laptop for very long time, even though Apple MacBook Pro are super expensive in long term it is cheaper, with no extra money needed to buy other softwares It will be used mainly office suite and web based application so extra power of graphic card may be over kill. Even with multiple apps open free memory is around 10 GB Which is great. Touch Bar and Touch ID is plus, nice to have feature. I used to buy at apple store, I have stopped buying at apple store now because Best Buy is best place to buy apple products, the prices are always better and quality service. Save yourself money by buying apple product at Best Buy. In last three years I have updated most of my Macs all purchased at Best Buy.

I use MBP (2015) for my work, so initially I bought Dell XPS 9750 for the home laptop. That was a terrible experience and I had to replace (within dell I got 4 replacement all had blue screen when I ran dev IDE like VisualStudio / Android Studio) so here I am back with the trusted MBP(2018) Dev User - As a programmer all the challenges what I had with Dell has been completely handled and it just gave me a peace of mind The android simulators run without much of issue. Style & Use Very light weight compared to 2015 MBP and the keys are bit different and it takes time to adjust to the new keyboard layout. The trackpad area is very huge and sometimes it causes inconvenience. I have now left with too many adaptors and most of my old accessories have become obsolete. All vendors has to adopt a common standard. Price point - its expensive as compared to Dell but I believe my pain points what I had with Dell has been addressed.

MacBooks in my experience, have been work horses, albeit expensive ones. I upgraded to a 2018, from my 2012 MBP. Build quality is standard Apple fantastic, as it should considering the money you'll be plunking down for the privilege. The 2018 brings some much needed upgrades to the CPU, memory, and storage. With the upgraded SSD, I/O speeds are impressively fast. All that combined with the i7 or i9 (depending on how much cash you're willling to drop), you'll see some pretty fast processing/rendering speeds. Those who are heavy into media, photography, video editing/YouTube, there should be a noticeable speed output increase. If all you're doing is surfing the internet and checking mail, then you should consider saving your money and find a more cost effective solution.

My second MBP;and I opted for everything I went without on my first purchase. Got 6 years of great service. This was crazy money; and the kb does take a little getting used to; but wow; what a step up. Solid state hard drive and some extra memory really make the difference. i7 didn't hurt either. Touch Bar? Getting way more out of the feature than I initially thought I would. A small net plus.

This 15" MBP is a fast machine. I've been a PC user all of my life and I decided to take the plunge since Best Buy was having an early Black Friday sale. Before my purchase, I was deciding between the MBP 13" i7 16gb 512gb and the 15". What swayed me to the MBP 15" was the price difference between the 13" (which wasn't on sale @ $2,499) and 15". For a little extra more, I thought it was worth spending it on the extra CPU cores and USB-C ports. Now I've to learn all of the nuisances of MAC OS. I also own an iPhone, iPad & Apple Watch so I'm fully vested in the Apple ecosystem. I'm confident it will be a great user experience.
