This is an amazing macbook. I don't understand all the hate on the touch bar as it's pretty amazing. Only complaint is that there is basically nothing but USB C ports and a headphone port. Keeping a USB A would have been a good play.

I've used Macs for years, and this is great. The touch bar at the top is too convenient and adapts to all software you are using. High resolution screen, fast processor. Love it.

I am admittedly a tech snob. To me the best technology is like fashion is to fashionistas.....it's important not only how it performs, but how it looks. I tried to compromise on my next system upgrade and bought the Dell XPS-15 9570 with the 4k touch screen and 8th generation 6 core processor because it was $700 cheaper. But then I got a smoking deal using price match and bought the MacBook Pro 15 (which is what I really wanted from the start). I performed side by side comparisons, boot speed, program launches, responsiveness of system, touchpad, etc. All the elements that I exercise on a daily basis in using my laptop. I even made a spreadsheet comparing the different metrics that were important to me. And in the end, the MacBook won hands down. It wasn't even close. Take that, combined with the sleek sexy feel and look (yes, sexy....I told you I was a Tech Snob) of the Pro, toss in this will be my work companion for the next 6-7 years......Well, needless to say I returned the Dell. Not that it was a bad machine, just wasn't the one I wanted to take to the Prom. I could talk about how software is not optimized for 4K displays, and blurry letters from programs, finger smudges on the touchscreen.....but in the end it was beauty + power + performance = MacBook Pro. I still smile every time I pull it out of my bag and use it. As the commercial says.....smile & joy......Priceless. To me, it's worth the extra cost.

Overall the 8th generation processor is noticeably faster. The touch bar is quite interesting and may prove to be very useful. All in all their best product ever in a laptop. Much better than the MacBook air. So much better

At 15" the screen is a good compromise when compared to a desktop with the added portability. Boots up very fast due to the ssd drive and runs without any glitch with the 16Gb RAM upgrade. For the rest.... it's a Mac!

Small lightweight with a nice screen size and resolution, this computer works well for everything I want to do at home while not at the office. While I am used to the multiple ports and magnetic power cord attachment on previous models, the absence of these features doesn't bother me on the new version. The touch pad takes some getting used to but is cool and becomes more a part of daily use.

This is my 4th MacBook Pro, so my review assumes you're already on board with the make/model. The 2018 upgrades are great--much faster, lighter, love the new keypad and touch bar. How do you improve on an A+?

The build quality is what you'd expect from an Apple device (so is the price tag). Performance is excellent, no complaints there. The biggest problem is the availability of ports, I had to pay an extra $100 for a port adapter (Apple's big problem lately) just so that it would be productive. The other minor issue is the touchbar, I don't like it, but that's just me.

This computer is an upgrade from my previous 15" MacBook Pro. It is definitely much more lightweight and powerful and the TouchBar is a nice addition, but it takes some time to get accustomed too. However I feel that it is very pricey compared to other laptops with similar specifications out there, however you definitely get the quality and experience you pay for.

That is why we replaced the old macbook. The new one doesn't overheat and it's plenty fast. I was skeptical of the touch bar. All the kinks have been worked out, the designer using this system reports.

This will be the latest MacBook of many I have owned. My first apple laptop was purchased in 1992. They just keep getting better, fasted, and more powerful, a great product for sure.

Faster. Better. Lighter. Scroll bar is great. However, if you will be using a thumb drive or plugging your Fitbit in to recharge you will need to purchase the accessary cord connector.

No complaints so far. Mostly used as desktop with a monitor, bluetooth keyboard and trackpad. The laptop does get hot and gets really loud as a jet at times when using some softwares or browsers like Visual Studio Code and Safari (but nothing that can't be worked around with a little googling and StackOverflow). I do regret of not opting for the 1TB SSD as I have now the need to have both Mac OS and Windows on the MacBook Pro and pretty much running out of space. I would not recommend this for a personal use as it is for professionals or unless you have the money and have to have the best.
