Customers admire the MacBook Pro 16" for its expansive screen, impressive performance, and ease of use. Many appreciate the convenient Touch Bar and long battery life, along with its lightweight design and high-quality speakers. However, some find the price to be high and express concerns about the limited number of USB ports and occasional heat generation. A few users also mention noticeable fan noise at times.

I got a 2020 MacBook Air, traded it back for a 2020 MacBook Pro 13”, and eventually I gave in and got this one (16” MacBook Pro). Kept telling myself it’s too big, the only reason I’d pay more is the ability to game a little better, and that the price difference isn’t worth it. - But now that I got it, I have to report im wrong. It’s big, but it’s not too big. I’m not gonna wall around with it open holding it in one hand like the air, but everywhere I’d normally park with it, it’s fine..., The light gaming is nice, but I feel like everything is just better. The speakers and microphone are top notch, and the extra workspace on the screen is great..... which just brings it to price. My opinion, if you got the money, get it. This will be a 4+ year investment. If you don’t have it, I’d say take the 13” pro over the Air.

Unbeatable Battery life / Power / User Experience

At first I was unsure about the size, going up from a 13” mbp, but it is still super manageable. You have to take into context that this is the size of most 15” windows laptops.
Battery lasts longer than my 13” mbp even when it was new. This is crazy because of a decently powerful GPU & 6 core processor being readily available (yet mostly unused). They obviously optimized for battery.
I’m a writer / trader who has 10 applications and 15 tabs open at once, so this machine is overly capable for what I do. Since I do so much multitasking, the 16gb of ram is noticeably better than 8gb on the 13” and I’m guessing the better CPU will help in the long run.
I do play world of Warcraft and it is a pleasant experience even with 2 monitors connected & running different tasks.
Then, obviously MacOS provides an unmatched experience, especially since I have an iPhone and iPad. I sold my gaming desktop for this because I graduated college and it is a much better medium for productivity, power and not being distracted.

Nothing to regret here. Meets and exceeds expectations in most cases. Got this for my son who is starting college this year. Replaced his 3 year old Macbook Pro that he used all through high school. This one is much faster with i7 and the display is amazing. The touch bar is a winner. Definitely recommend this to any student starting college.

Well where to start. I guess the keyboard, its great much better than the old 15 inch but when it comes to keyboards everyone has opinion and some like the butterfly keyboard but in my opinion so far this keyboard is great. The screen is beautiful and bright. I had the 2016 - 15.5 inch MacBook Pro and just the extra 1/2 is great when multitasking. As for games I am getting around 42 FPS, not bad compared to the dismal 16 FPS on my 2016 MacBook Pro. Hard to tell battery life but seems to be getting around 8 to 10 hours. Now if your looking for something lightweight this is not the MacBook for you. Its not super heavy at 4.3 lbs but if looking for light, thin and compact look elsewhere. The MacBook Pro feels super dense, strong, no flex and no screen bobble -AWESOME. THE MAC IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So far this laptop has been perfect for me. The display quality is excellent, and it is powerful enough to handle the workload I require it to subdue. I'm a big fan of the touch bar as well, as it allows me to easily skip around on videos and make precise adjustments in GarageBand.

After going through hell with Dell PCs, I bought my first MacBook Pro in 2011 and have purchased the latest edition every 3 years. I can confidently say I will never buy another PC again. I got an amazing deal when I bought the latest and greatest one in August 2020. Included in the total cost was one free year of Microsoft Word, 6 months of virus protection and free Apple Music. It’s a little bigger and heavier than laptops I’ve bought in the past, but I don’t need to lug it around as I work out of my home. I’ve now had this Mac for 9 months and it works beautifully! No crashing, it has updated features, a bigger screen and lots more memory which is a perfect fit for me and the work I do. It’s very user friendly and easy to navigate. I absolutely love it! Highly recommended- especially for graphic designers.

After over a decade of use, we thought it time to finally upgrade and I must say, the only regret is that we didn’t do so sooner! This laptop is fast, great colors...vivid, and features are quite something. While I didn’t think we needed the toolbar, it is quickly becoming our favorite feature. All thumbs up at this point!

Mac laptop user for life since I can't seem not to kill PCs.... beautiful computer and handles a ton of open applications that require good running ability (spotify, statistical analyses, rendering videos, etc) without a hitch! I previously had the retina 4k older MacBook pro and was limited on this purchase to the LED screen vs the 4k version, if I'd had the money I would have gone with that, but that being said this display is still gorgeous, crisp, and I barely notice anyway. The 16" is obviously still small compared to a dual monitor setup, but this screen works to have two apps open side by side on just the laptop. The touch bar is a super neat feature and has some awesome capabilities. Once you're used to it, hardly even noticeable that it's different until someone comments on the sci-fi tech thing you just did. Only downside is Apple moving toward lighting and USB c for everything, which this only has 4 USB c ports, definitely recommend a dongle adapter for Bluetooth devices like additional mouse, keyboard, etc.

My first MacBook and I love it!

As my first ever MacBook, the 16" MacBook Pro has far exceeded my expectations and I use it 99% of the time now, even though I have a beautiful 21" iMac. The MacBook Pro's keyboard is wonderful, with the same tactile feel as my iMac's wireless keyboard. The display is fantastic...I do a lot of high resolution photo retouching, and this display is just as good as my 21" iMac. My biggest issue with the screen is that it is highly reflective and hard to see in outdoor light, and it also burns the images of the keyboard into it when you close it up. So there's a lot of cleaning to do if you like a perfectly clean visual in front of you like I do.
The touchbar is wasted on me. I really only use it to adjust screen brightness and volume control and for F keys because I am an old school quick key user.
I love having Siri at my fingertips...whenever I need a definition or need to know how to spell something, Siri is right there. I miss some of the input ports...I regularly use USB sticks and micro SB cards, so I am always looking for my adapter.

I love computers and continuously use a lot for 30+ years. Experienced finance pro w/ 16” MBP connected/used as desktop via dock. Have had 2011 13” MBA, 2015 & ‘18 15” MBP, 2015 13” MBP. Also used PCs (pre 2011 Dell, 2017 Asus). Always bought highest speced machines. This new 16” is far and away the best computer I have ever used. Really much better than all others which were all also excellent. Before I bought, I read about how keyboard was better than prior gen mbp - it really is and it was worth the upgrade alone. Screen size difference is noticeable. Overall extremely satisfied with base model 16”. Wondering if previous higher specs were ever worth the $ - def not. Use case - heavy productivity w/ multiple native productivity apps, multiple browsers running multiple tabs each w/ web apps and MS word, ppt, and multi-sheet excel - all running simultaneously. I am not a video or graphics professional but do lightest possible video uploads, downloads, adding pics to docs and presos. No other graphic work. This laptop is not just for vid/photo pros. Maybe great for them but also well suited for non-graphics business too.

This new MacBook is sleek, fast, and reliable. My only issue so far is that the bottom can get quite hot and it's a little difficult to get used to when coming from a PC. I'm generally not a fan of Mac controls. Why can I undo (Command+Z) and action but not re-do it on a MacBook? Things like this make no sense.

If I’m happy with this laptop, ANYONE should be. It’s light and portable, attractive, and just so comfortable and intuitive to use. And since I have Best Buy’s full tech plan, it was set up beautifully for me at no extra charge! I literally brought it home and started using it. Couldn’t be happier.

I love the large screen and the interface. It is fast and does what I need it to (basic work-from-home stuff, no big programs or applications or anything). Speakers are surprisingly great too. Huge upgrade from my last 2012 Macbook Pro! No visible use or abuse even though I bought it “out-of-box”.

So far I really like how fast it is and the screen is sharper than my 14” pro. I have received very good help through Geek Squad in learning it as I’m over 75 years old and not that intuitive with MACs. Better with people
I’ve owned it about a month and use it for email and zoom and taxes and photos I haven’t used the DVD player I had to buy with it and I also had to buy a unit so I could have more inputs Like buying a doll and having to buy all the clothes for it. I ordered a cover and after a few weeks was emailed that it wasn’t available. So I don’t know how I’m going to get a protective cover yet but I’m sure we’ll figure it out(my son and Best Buy and me). Or I’ll check with Apple store First time I’ve bought an Apple product from anyplace other than Apple store.

I just bought this on June 4th and it was delivered on June 6th, 16 days faster than the Apple Store quoted for delivery time and also $200 cheaper than the Apple Store’s pricing. This was such an amazing deal! I’ve had an iPhone for the last year, and in 2017 I had a 2011 MacBook Pro for about 6 months and didn’t really like it too much. This time around, I went for a higher tier model; 16” Pro with the i7 processor, 16gb Ram, 512gb SSD and the AMD 5300M GPU and this thing BLOWS away my 13” HP Spectre that I just bought in March of this year.
Photoshop takes under 4 seconds to open and be accessible. I can edit 5-6 files of 3000x3000 or 6500x6500 size with 10 to 30+ layers in both Photoshop and Illustrator while also having Chrome open with 10 or more tabs, all simultaneously, with no issues at all. This laptop is a beast and the screen clarity, brightness, color accuracy and quality Can’t be beat. I don’t think I saw a better screen on display at Best Buy.
I would 100% recommend this to friends and family.

It’s been amazing. It’s fast. It has great battery life when working. It doesn’t have the best battery life when playing world of Warcraft but that should be an obvious battery drainer. I was absolutely blown away with the speakers. They are like surround sound. Great looking laptop too!

I work from home and have to use my computer often for work things. I bought one 13 inch MacBook Pro (2020) and it stopped charging a week in. Exchanged for another, and it continuously had a spinning beach ball. The store associates were very helpful and polite through all of this; the Best Buy customer service agents to call were not. Apple was not either. For the third replacement, I decided to go with this 16 inch MacBook Pro, and I’m so glad I did. It is a bit bulky size-wise, and I definitely would’ve preferred the smaller one, but this thing is a beast. Zero issues thus far. The screen is beautiful; the keyboard is nice to use; the computer moves through processes very quickly. You get a much better deal purchasing the laptop through BestBuy, too, so that was nice. After having my previous MacBook Pro last roughly 9 years, I am hopeful this one has the same life expectancy. Just wish BestBuy customer service over the phones wasn’t so terrible.

The first thing you'll notice is the improvement in the overall sound quality. Its really is an amazing improvement for both music and videos. It can handle a greater ranger of sounds without breaking up like before.
Second: even with the base model, the cpu and video processing power rivals even a fully speced out 15" Macbook but with better cooling and much less power throttling than before.
The 16 Gig of memory is plenty for most types of photo and video editing and even with 4k footage, I have yet to exceed the memory bandwidth.
The keyboard is now much better than the failure prone 'butterfly' type of previous models and even offers a bit more travel in the keystroke making typing much easier and the Magic Mouse offers tons of space to navigate and is a joy to use.
The screen is beautiful and more than enough to do critical work on at a resolution of 3072 x 1920, its not quite 4k but at 16" from the viewing point that most will use it at, 4k would be hard to discern the difference. And if you need more actual resolution, you can always hook up external monitors, the 16" MacBook can drive (2) separate 4K screens or even (1) 5K screen as an external device.
The color accuracy rivals even some top of the line photo monitors with a Delta-E score of 0.27 ( the closer to 0 the better )
With the lowest base model storage of 512GB SSD, it will fill up fast if your doing large video projects but, its wicked fast as an OS drive and that's really all you should use it for. With the cost of external SSD drive plummeting, it just makes so much more sense to keep all your data on an external drive and with the Thunderbolt 3 connection, there is no loss in speed.
Long story short, the best value Mac has given us in a long time.
