Never going back to PC. I absolutely love my MacBook. It’s fast. Battery lasts a long time. Easy to use. Speakers are awesome. My pictures look great! Videos are clear. Linked with all my Apple devices seamlessly. I’ve only scratched the surface of what this machine can do. So excited to tap further into its potential!! Would highly recommend.

Got BB to price match a local retailer and got this thing for the price of the base 16” model! Can’t beat that!
I had a 2013 13” MacBook Pro and lasted me 7 years and still going. It just can’t perform some of the video editing I’ve been doing lately and running low on disk space. This 16” is a great upgrade for me! Have had it for a week and use it everyday. I’m glad I went with the larger screen because honestly, if I want to do something on a small screen I can just use my iPhone or iPad. I’m glad I went with the 1 TB. After transferring my previous data over and finally copying my phone images and videos over I’m already at 500 GB used! I used to never copy or backup to my old MacBook cause no space for it. The Core i9 is great! CPU never gets over utilized so far. When GPU kicks in it does get hot, but I’m not using heavy programs all the time. 16 GB RAM has been great! My old MacBook was using Swap memory all the time. The weight isn’t too much more than my old 13”.
If you are debating between the base model or this model, just think about what is best for future proofing your laptop. These MacBooks aren’t easy to just replace parts, so if you can afford the additional resources then I say go for it!

Love this MacBook!! The 16" display is super sharp, battery life is excellent. The Touch Bar changes based what task you're doing, We went with the 16GB, 1TB SSD which makes this MAC lighting fast. and should last us at least 5 years before having to upgrade this machine. I highly recommend!!

Okay, I'll start off by saying that I ended up returning this laptop. But here's why...
So, I loved this laptop. I am mainly a Windows guy and all of my main life revolves around Windows applications and programs. But for my work I need a Mac around. The size (16") is perfect. The build quality is unbeatable. The speakers sound amazing. The trackpad is awesome. MacOS itself OK; it runs great, looks smooth and is easy to get around... but lacks applications for certain things that Windows has. The screen is beautiful! The new/old "Magic Keyboard" is great. It's thin and light.
But... I installed Bootcamp to be able to have access to Windows, as well Mac, if I needed it. Well... Windows in Bootcamp is buggy. It drains the battery (plus the fans sped up like crazy when it was just idling at the desktop!). Apple doesn't keep the gestures (even when I install third-party github drivers... which were a LOT better than Apple's drivers, but were still a bit buggy. Windows can't use the TouchID feature on the power button.
Those things, on top of having to buy dongles for an ethernet connection and USB-A type connectors. And the biggest caveat... the price. :-( I couldn't bring myself to a rational/logical decision of the $2833 price and "just needing a Mac around" when I need to get access to MacOS. So I went completely on the opposite side of a Mac and got a Macbook Air 13.3" with an Intel i5 (quad-core), 8GB, 512GB SSD. So far it's exactly the same experience, just on a smaller screen and no touch bar. It's fast and I can get access to MacOS when I need it and I saved myself over $1500. I think (for me), this is a much better buy for what I need it for... plus it's even smaller and lighter!

Very premium product the touchbar is sleek and nice. Speakers are extremely loud for a laptop the screen is beautiful and everything works fast and efficiently. I am glad they fixed the keyboard I wouldn’t buy last gen MacBook Pro because of the keyboard.

I was debating if I should get the new M1 MacBooks or this expensive but powerful MacBook Pro from 2019. I purchased and tried a MacBook with M1 and it was terrible. First thing the bootcamp option is not available for the M1 chips and I do use bootcamp a alot to switch between Mac OS and Windows 10! For the price I paid for this laptop it has everything I need. 8 core intel CPU, 16 GB ram, 4 GB dedicated graphics, 1 TB SSD hard drive, 16 inch display with the highest brightness available and also highest resolution available. This 2019 model is still more powerful than the new M1 chips. Many programs and apps are not compatible with the M1 chips.

Where can i start. I have always wanted to own a 16 inch mac book pro and even though i was told to hold off for the new apple silicon this mac is one of the best apple computer i have owned to date. i own the intel core i9 mac book pro and there isn't anything you can throw at it that it cannot chew up. its very fast and efficient it has very good battery life and it is fast it comes with the 16gb of ram and the Radeon graphics card which makes tasks a breeze though final cut pro and other photography programs your YouTube videos do play in 4k and the best part of all is the 1tb SSD no need for the iCloud service like other macs i highly recommend this laptop.

So far, I love this laptop. Starting down a new education/career path, I thought it was time for a change of computer. This computer is efficient and powerful. Also, it looks great and comfortable for typing. The picture is crisp and the colors are vivid. I really appreciate the processing power and the RAM this computer has. If you are looking for a new laptop that can handle anything and everything your job/classes will throw your way, this is THE one for YOU. This is the sign you are looking for to get a Macbook pro.
P.S. I opted for this one before only laptops with the M1 chip were available for purchase. Reason being that the Intel chips are tried and tested.

Went from an old 12” windows laptop to this and loving it so far. The 16” display is definitely worth it if you do any kind of creative work. 16GB seems to be enough to run multiple large applications at once. I’ve run indesign, photoshop, & illustrator all at once with other things open in the background without any problems, which is a major upgrade from my last computer!
Only thing I don’t really love is the lack of USB/SD/etc. ports, so I would suggest purchasing a lightning cable or a 7-in-1 lightning hub if you need to transfer files often.
Seems sturdy and worth the price, so we’ll see how long it lasts me!

This is my first MacBook Pro, and my second Apple purchase. First being AirPods, which were recommended by a friend. This MacBook has been my first personal use of the MacOS. It has taken some time to get adjusted to the change from old and faithful Windows. I honestly don't like how the file system is set up on the MacOS, but everything else has been beyond my expectations. I've owned two laptops in the past, one being a Dell Inspiron 5100 and a more modern MSI laptop. Out of those two laptops, I didn't expect the battery life to be longer than 4 hours, but as other users of this MacBook know that the battery life is way more than that! I'm very pleased as to this MacBook Pro being the best laptop I've ever owned. Of course it is the most expensive one that I've ever owned. Anyways enough about me and my discoveries of MacOS... this laptop has been very helpful with built-in software that I never expected to see. The design is flawless, the aluminum casing makes it look sleek. The quality of the build is amazing! The casing is the best I've ever seen in a laptop. No bend/flex in the keyboard, the monitor is very stable, I have not experienced any wobble. The display is amazing. The sound is very comparable to my sound bar for my TV. I was and still am amazed at the sound quality that this machine produces. Whether in GarageBand or playing a video on YouTube, the sound is simply amazing! It has won my choice over for laptops in general. Although if you need Windows and don't want to use Boot Camp, then Dell has some high end systems that will definitely compare very close to the quality that Apple has brought with this system.
I mainly use my MacBook for school work as I am in school for Computer Science. The speed of compiling programs is pretty fast, except for why Apple has to keep the fans to be silent unless absolutely needed is beyond what I believe should be in a system. When you're compiling an extensive program you need to use the raw power of the CPU as much as possible, but the problem that I, many programmers, and others that need to use the full potential of the CPU run into is the temps getting way to high for comfort. The only negative comment I would say to Apple regarding this MacBook Pro is that the temps need to be cooler for your CPU. Of course they know if your MacBook fails in 10 years because of the overheating causing hardware issues, then you'll just buy another one. Anyways, this is a great system, and will be for many years to come. Words of advice to anyone concerned about what specs they should get, that just depends on what you need. Be sure if you need more RAM, then to get it at purchase since it is soldered to the Motherboard. For me 16 GB is good enough. Though at times I do wish I could have afforded 32 GB, but that's life. Overall, I'm very content to have what I have, but still plan to build my next Desktop running a combination of Windows and Linux. But for laptops, Apple will definitely be in my top 3 choices of selection in the future.

I am really enjoying my MacBook Pro. This is my 1st Mac/Apple computer. It is very light and easy to transport. I love the Touch Bar above the keyboard which is customizable. The fingerprint pad is extremely easy to use, in a great location, and has never failed to recognize my fingerprint. I find the keyboard and mousepad to be very quiet. (never noticed how loud the clicking is on other lap tops until I was using this next to my hubby on his laptop) This computer runs fast and can keep up with multiple programs open. I use it for personal use and small business applications.

I shopped around for a new MacBook to replace my HP laptop which had become very slow. The sales associate at Best Buy was a big help answering all my questions. I chose the 16” model because it was lightweight and easier to work with do to my vision issues. Additionally this computer is extremely faster than the old HP. Learning a MacBook was quick and easy because I had been using a IPad at work for several years. I don’t intend to buy another computer for several more years so I wanted something that would last. Great unit! Love it!

Sleek, fast, power house. This MacBook Pro does not disappoint. Love the 16” display. It’s an amazing machine. Personally I like the Touch Bar, even though I get why Apple removed it in the latest M1 versions. What sold me on this one was I didn’t give up any of the performance and didn’t have any of the issues of the M1. The only negative is you have to buy a USB-C hub to be able to attach any peripherals. Still even with that as a consideration saving $800 makes this a no brainer.

The engineers at Apple have finally engineered a marvel. Using bleeding edge technology from (checks notes) 2013, Apple has finally released a new notebook that comes with an actual keyboard. The new keyboard is basically the same as the stand along keyboard that Apple sells with an iMac, and it's a great typing experience. The keyboard is the standout "old" feature, but the rest of the device is solid. The 16" screen is big and beautiful. The thermal properties have in fact been improved, which lets you actually get mileage from the 8 core i9 CPU. I would caution that being locked into using Catalina brings its own set of issues, the most notable being the dropping of support for 32 bit apps, such as Aperture. It also by default enforces a strict software signing policy on 3rd party apps, which can be turned off, but to turn it off requires running commands in terminal. It can be a source of considerable pain if you're migrating from a device with an older version of MacOS. All that being said, the device itself is actually fantastic. I know the review sounds a bit negative, but the truth is that this a great notebook that is finally a worthy upgrade to my 2013 MacBook Pro. I just don't want to get too carried away handing out praise for finally going back to the "good" keyboard they already had 6 years ago. :)
Quality: 5/5 -- this device is well built and premium
Value: 3/5 -- the thing has an 8 core i9. It's a premium product with a price tag to match. There are in fact better bang for the buck values. But if you need/want the horses....
Ease of Use: 4/5 -- it's a Mac. It generally just works. And when it just works, it is great. But Catalina has some design decisions that are going to be painful for some migrating users in terms of deprecating support for older apps, so I have to dock a point here.

Very expensive. Nice product and runs well. Heats up a lot when running online virtual desktops and boot camp.
Bummer that there are only thunderbolt ports. I get files sent to me on thumb drives and CDs still (I know...) which to view requires buying expensive adapters.

Truly a beautiful product. Saw all the rave reviews and caved in after a year of wanting it. This laptop is a workhorse. I’ve done CAD and graphic design on this, and it has never given me problems.
Only complaint I have is that this i9 model can get rather hot if its on your lap. (and its rather expensive. i bought it as a graduation present for myself.)
i bought this intel version since there is software that can’t run on the new Apple Silicon M1 chips. keep that in mind when picking between the old and new Macs.

After using an early 2015 MBP for 4 years this machine feels like a gift from the HEAVENS. I am a video and photo editor and my work flow has been sped up significantly! The processing speed and the amount of memory you get is an awesome deal. I also have been loving the sleek design and have been super surprised by the functionality of the Touch Bar. Overall this machine is definitely worth the investment especially if youre looking for a reliable machine to be used daily for: photo editing, video editing, and game capture.
