As a first time Macbook owner, I'm absolutely blown away by the power of this unit. I'm using it for music production as well as several midi devices in a "live" setting and sometimes studio setting. This Macbook handles everything I throw at it! If you are an Ableton Live user, Ableton loves the 12 performance cores (my Macbook has 12 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores). My 12th gen Windows laptop (with 32GB Ram onboard), 3.6GHz clock speed can't even compete with this Mac! The young man at Best Buy in Novi, MI was super helpful - he made it easy for me to use several payment methods during the purchase, and clearly explained the BestBuy / Apple protection that I have and how to renew it when necessary. I highly recommend the M4 Max for anyone that has heavy processing requirements (music production and/or video compositing).

I mostly edit vidoes, color correct, I use multiple nodes and the Fusion tab. I have a mac studio and this was perfect for my workflow. I can edit in bed, on a plane, in a coffee shop etc. its fast, quiet, and lasts a long time under normal workloads like web browsing and emails etc. it does excellent under heavy workloads. I also use lightroom and denoising is a breeze, those who know how intense those DNG files can be on your system understand the need for more processing power, this is the beast you didnt know you knew, elegant, powerful, and simple.

This is such an amazing laptop. Can handle so much more then my older Macbook Air. Switches between apps, programs, and windows with ease. The weight difference does not bother me. I prefer this because it just feels more substantial.

Incredibly fast. Reminiscent of the sturdy well built MBPs from the mid 2010s. It’s got some heft to it but standby battery life is insane, nearly 14 days without needing to charge it. Well worth it imo

Overall power, speed, reliability and best of all battery life is incredible. M4 chip runs buldors gate on my spare time on highest settings. No lag when multi tasking. Only regret is not getting a higher SSD drive.

I recently purchased the MacBook Pro and couldn't be happier. The large display makes a significant difference when working on timelines and multiple windows simultaneously. It delivers excellent performance for video editing and handles the entire Adobe suite smoothly, even with heavier projects. I don’t use it for gaming, but based on its overall speed and responsiveness, I’m confident it would perform well in that area as well. Another significant advantage is the impressive battery life, which easily lasts through long editing sessions without requiring a charge. Overall, it’s a robust and dependable machine—highly recommended for creators, students, and professionals.

I recently got the MacBook M4 Max from Best Buy, and it’s been amazing. Its performance is more than I need fast and smooth, even when I have multiple heavy tasks running at once. The screen quality is excellent with the Liquid Retina XDR display offering a high-quality resolution. It looks easy on the eye and detailed, and the brightness, I can increase upto 1600 nits, which makes it easy to work in sunlight too. The battery life is a big plus too, offering up to 22 hours under normal use. Even with heavy usage, it lasts around 8-10 hours easily for me, which is impressive.

I consistently try to put this through the wringer with all the photo editing through Lightroom and AI processing at the same time and it almost never kicks the fans in. Coming from windows pc this was probably the best decision I’d made for my work flow. In terms of raw performance and a no nonsense grab and go straight out the gate laptop, there’s nothing stronger than this. The battery life can easily last the whole day with half of it gone if I’m having heavy use, beyond that if it’s regular office work I’m guaranteed to have at least 75%. Couldn’t recommend a better laptop that’s gonna outlast its price tag

Great purchase- I regularly purchase for my clients, since Apple is able to integrate across their phones and tablets. It makes it easy for our clients to seamlessly move across their notes, attend lectures, and video chat. Personally, I've used a Macbook Pro as well in college and this one makes that look like a dinosaur. Graphics are clear, battery life is great even when having multiple apps running, and it's not heavy.

Great display, outstanding power, ample RAM and beautiful appearance and display.

Laptop is powerful enough to run Fusion 360 at a good rate with no lag. Can handle multiple windows open at a time. Battery life is superb. With minimal use per day can last weeks without charge. The 16 inch and haptic touchpad are also some unique features. Overall would recommend over a windows laptop if trying to get one purely for work.

Needed a new powerhouse MBP to use for video and photo editing. I replaced an M1 Max with this and this thing just screams. The battery life is unreal and it never gets hot. No audible fans even when I am processing images with Denoise/AI.

Blazing fast computer with very nice screen clarity battery life is fantastic. I can use it in my office all day without charging. It is the best battery life of any laptop

The fastest computer I could ask for, it helps so much with school and my graphic design classes. The performance and multitask capabilities just make the days easier then ever.

I never thought that I would abandon the ibm format computer for a Mac. I have an iPhone and an iPad and they work so well together with the Mac. The 16” M4 16/40 48 1TB Mac is significantly fast and is the ticket for photo processing and video processing. So far so good in my transition. I plan to make some appointments with Best Buy for some tutoring to be able to make this transition as smooth as possible, and for me to be able to be as competent with the Mac platform as possible. Best Buy had this in stock, so there was no wait.

Excellent performance and battery life. Still amazing how much performance the M series has for the power consumption. Unified memory great for running local AI models, and as a bonus the 40 core GPU handles the little gaming I want to do with ease. If your use case is basic content consumption the Max cpu’s are overkill, the base M4 or Pro are more than enough.
