Totally worth it. Docker, Kubernetes and other IDEs run smoother. The screen aspect ratio is good and suits programmers.

Best Buy in excellent condition

I decided to go with this MacBook Pro 16 M4 48GB because I got a great price as an open box in excellent condition, and it was in excellent condition best buy really is the best buy. Apple makes quality products and I believe that laptop will last me 10 yrs too if not more.

While I don't do graphics work, I run multiple VM's, containers, databases, code dev, etc. for cloud operations. That M1 worked so well I got this M4 for my personal laptop. Its a beast! Handles everything I throw at it with ease.
