Customers appreciate the MacBook Pro's ease of use, performance, and stunning Retina display. Its lightweight design and excellent battery life are also frequently praised. While some find the price high and storage limited, the overall experience is largely positive. The speed of the SSD is another frequently mentioned positive.

Using the Mac Book Pro with Retina Display to view and edit phots in LightRoom and PhotoShop. The machine is very fast and the display is gorgeous.
Also using for general computer tasks such as Office and Web Surfing. Everything is fast and looks great.
Watching movies and NbcOlympics videos look and sound fantastic.
The Pro has lots of inputs and outputs, e.g. HDMI, mini-DP, USB3 so you can show the video anywhere.
Time Machine backups to USB3 are very very fast. No excuse not to back up.
The battery life is excellent, but I can't quote any limits because I have never used more than 50% according to the battery meter, and that was using it pretty heavily all day long. Recharging goes very fast too.
I have several laptops at home and at work, plus several desktop machines that I built. This is by far the nicest computer I've ever used.
My desktop Core I7 is just a little faster, but it is a desktop and as such most stay on my desk.
Love my Mac Book Pro!

When I look at this computer closely it appears to be a piece of functional art. Apple has taken the laptop to a new level by integrating form and function. Between the elegant operating system and the beautiful hardware the experience of computing is elevated.
Clunky virus ridden Windows machines are not even in the same league. How can they be when their operating system tries to be everything on everyone's hardware?
I have owned numerous Mac's before this one, but this is my first brand new MacBook Pro. I made do without one because they are expensive. If you can afford one, rest assured that they are superior to every other laptop on the market.
I love the retina screen, the super fast SSD, and the fact that everything just plain works like it's supposed to.

MacBooks Get Better Each Time

I purchased a MacBook Pro in January 2015 and loved it for its long battery life, loud speakers, clear screen, and sturdiness. Unfortunately it was stolen, so I purchased another one in November and was pleasantly surprised to see that every feature I had mentioned, improved. I will forever be an Apple customer due to their customer service in stores and how well built their products are. I once bought an HP laptop and printer and the printer only printed 50 pages before it broke and the laptop came with screws loose and the keyboard wasn't installed properly. If I didn't treat it like a new born baby it would have fell apart within a month. Their customer service was awful and wouldn't fix their faulty products. If only Apple made printers...

Looking To Upgrade?

I recently decided that it was time to upgrade from my 5-year old white Macbook. It still runs great (maybe a little slower because I've fully utilized the storage capacity) but is still in excellent condition. So I knew I'd be looking for another Macbook since they seem to keep their value. I went with the Apple MacBook Pro with Retina display and 256GB Flash Storage because it is similar to my previous Macbook, but with more storage, a better screen, lighter to carry, and still maintains the Apple ease of use standard - it's inherent once you've used an Apple product a few times. I love mine!

Cool design. Works great. It is lighter than the older model but lacks cd slot. The battery life works great for me and probably lasts for about 6-7 hrs.

The 256gb MBPr is the best choice for users who are inclined to get a MBAir but would rather have the retina display.
Fast, lightweight and sleek. Better hardware than the air at a reasonable price point.

*I've had my MacBook pro w/ Retina (256GB) for about a month now*
The new MacBook pro w/ Retina is definitely pricey but definitely worth it. The screen is actually so terrific that it had my jaw dropping for quite some time...
The battery life is also fantastic! I use it quite heavily (I usually have the brightness turned all the way up w/ bluetooth enabled etc.) and it lasts me all day at work. Even if you do drain the battery all the way, the MacBook actually charges up pretty fast.
The new touch pad is absolutely amazing as well!! It BARELY makes any clicking sounds and is pressure activated.
It's a terrific product! The price is definitely costly but in the end it'll be worth it (at least for me)! :-)

I've always been impressed with how well-built, and downright attractive, all of Apple products are; so, I finally made the leap from PC to Mac. The MacBook Pro was the perfect choice for me; lightweight, solid, and a real pleasure to use. Because of eyesight problems, I thought I had to purchase the 15" Macbook Pro...but, after realizing how crisp and clear Apple's retina displays are, I found The 13" to be everything I was looking for. I love the MBP's magic trackpad -- on top of being highly accurate and responsive, it's a joy to use.

This is my first Apple laptop as I have been a Windows user all along.
There was a little bit of transition in getting used to the Apple interface but they became more intuitive and certainly easier to use once you get more familiar with the laptop and Mac OS.
I have used it for just almost a month now and perhaps it is a little early to provide a meaningful review. However, I find that the battery life is very good. The MacBook Pro offers fast performance and has been very reliable so far. This is certainly an excellent buy for me!

Honestly if you want a powerhorse macbook and you want your technology to be future proof especially with the retina display. Then this macbook is the way to go! Get a 256gb SSD or higher so you don't have to worry about space. Even if you use the cloud. The speeds for the SSD are just insanely fast. I am coming from an upgrade from a 2010 Macbook Pro and it is just a whole new experience with this machine. The new touchpad that uses haptic feedback is amazing too. Great new technology that will set you for the next couple of years. Has the latest Broadwell processor also. Just wish it had a new USB Type C port to really futureproof this laptop. Definitely a great buy!!

This is the new MacBook Air

Let me begin by saying that I have absolutely loved my 2011 MacBook Air. However, before the start of the school year, my daughter's high school cantacted parents to inform them that every student is now required to have a laptop. After calling the school district Technology office, I learned that students can either purchase the district's standard Dell laptop or supply their own. I wrote down the model number and found the standard issue to be a pile of plastic junk. I decided instead to give my trusty MacBook Air to my daughter. It's a Core i5 vs a Celeron and it weighs less than 3 lbs where the Dell weighed in at almost 5. Even better, giving her my old computer would mean I had an excuse to get a new one.
Problem: The MacBook Air still has a non-retina screen. It felt hard to justify spending the money to get a several generations old screen resolution.
Solution: The new MacBook Pro is smaller and faster than the MacBook Air AND has a gorgeous Retina display. I couldn't be happier. It's not as "Pro" as the previous gen Pro, but as a replacement for an Air, this thing rocks.
I will mention that the keyboard is very different from what I'm used too. It's very good and has a satisfying click that is solid and confident on each keystroke but the keystroke is very shallow. Very shallow. It's takes getting used to. But the backlight is very good with no light bleed round the keys.
I was worried that the lack of USB 3.0 ports and an SD card slot would be a pain but it's not. I have an adapter for those and it works great.
Overall the new MacBook Pro is a winner.
