I love my new macbook pro. It starts up quickly and I can open multiple windows fast. It was easy to transfer the information from my old macbook too. The only thing I miss is that there is no slot for a cd or dvd.

I had purchased the MacBook Pro 13" a few days prior to exchanging it to this one. Best Buy made it easy with no guilt or questioning. First of all, everyone needs to know this is the mid-2014 version of the MacBook Pro 15". Yes, it is a year old. However, there are some key difference between the current, early-2015 MacBook Pro 15 and this one. 1. Earlier version is about $100 cheaper at Best Buy. 2. Earlier version has a discrete graphics card with a 2GB memory. The newer version has an Iris Pro integrated graphics program. If you really like to run an external monitor with a lot of powerful graphics programs, get this version. In the new MacBook Pros, you can only get the discrete graphics on the top of the line models, that are nearly $1000 more expensive. This 2014 version is a deal. 3. The new version has a slightly faster flash drive. This could be important to yo. 4. The new version has slightly longer battery life, but the 2014 version is no slouch. 5. The new version has a newly designed touch pad that reads how hard you push the touchpad. It could be useful. Otherwise, they're nearly the same, but I think a discrete graphics card is most important.

I love the 15 in screen, lightweight lap top and great features. I have had an iPad and I phone and now a mac. Could not ask for more. so easy to use

I had my Dell for 7 years before it began to die, and I was interested in getting another one. However, I read several reviews and decided that this laptop would better suite my needs as a student because of its light weight, super long battery life, and fast processing. My only complaint would be the lack of a DVD drive, but it seems like several companies are phasing those out since the HP Envy my boyfriend got for Christmas also doesn't have one.

In the past I've had Windows laptops from IBM, Dell, Compaq, HP and Toshiba but every single one had issues that rendered them awful to work on. I've had laptops with glitchy keyboards, terrible sound cards, noisy fans and constantly overheating under the load of my normal work. As a programmer and musician who works on audio apps, I tend to keep a lot of development application windows open as well as web browser connections and my old laptops simply could not handle the stress. I found myself changing the way I work to accomodate an inferior product and inferior operating system (Windows). This Macbook is a dream come true and well worth every penny. The fact there are no moving parts means there are no hard drive hiccups, no fan noise and no overheating. The design is gorgeous and the Retina display is easy on the eyes. The backlit keyboard makes it easy to work in low light situations. The bundled software (Numbers, Pages, iMovie, iPhoto) makes switching from Windows to OSX painless. The biggest thrill for me with the Macbook is the audio. The built-in speakers sound great but add headphones and the sound is unbelievable !! Overall, this is the PERFECT computer.

The size and design is great for me to carry in backpack for projects. Retina display is very crisp and clear. Computer is easy to use. I can sync all my apple products with computer.

Throughout my entire life I used dell, but once I started to get into photography I started to do some research on a laptop that would be able to handle multiple programs, but still be functional for school and work. I came across the macbook and after doing further research and going to best buy multiple times, I decided to go with the Macbook Pro. It was the best decision for me! Its efficient, fast, durable, looks and feels great and the best part is that its compatible with my iPhone, so I can easily sync my images, apps, etc. and I can also text using Ichat!. I would def. recommend this to anyone who doesn't mind a little investment.

First, you have to love Apple products. This machine is absolutely great. The setup is pretty easy. Mac comes with the necessary softwares to start working. It's very light weight. The retina display is absolutely awesome. Please, buy a cover protection, just in case. Hind, hind, if you don't have a rewards card, apply for it. Then, purchase the Mac, I know, almost 2k $, but you'll accumulate $35, use that $ for a good case or cover. I just got the Thule blue 2.0, and the reward points were applied decreasing its price considerably. Or, you can also use the $ for any specific program that you may need. Another great product from Apple, no doubt.

I can't express how much I love this laptop. The retina display is amazing, the laptop is light weight and the processor is very fast. Worth the investment and highly recommended.

And I love my MacBook Pro. I started using a Mac at work about two years ago and realized how much easier it was to use and how few issues I had compared to my own PC. Don't get me started on the Microsoft 8.1 OS. Very simply put, this is easier to use and the retina display makes it easier to see/read with my aging and failing eyes. It was pricier than a PC although I believe the value is well worth the additional money.

I bought the macbook pro retina display and it's amazing! It's fast, has great memory, the screen is crystal clear and it's very user friendly. It's definitely worth the price!

I've had a Macbook since 2008. It still runs better than any PC I ever owned, but I did find myself getting the "spinning color wheel" a few times a day. The Macbook pro with 16GB memory is like a Ferrari compared to my old Macbook. There is absolutely ZERO waiting no matter how many windows or applications I have open. That would be good enough for me to recommend this machine...and THEN there is the retina display, and all I can say is WOW. I honestly thought this was just a gimmic...but I'll never have another computer without it. It makes my HDTV look like like junk.

This Mac is by far the best computer I've ever owned and used. It's fast, light weight, gorgeous display,and does not crash like a PC.

This is my second MacBook. I purchased this one to replace a beloved 8 year old MacBook Pro that was dying. Transferring my data over from the old laptop was simple and I love the screen and weight of this one compared to the old one (although I was perfectly happy with it). So far I have been very happy with the new one and I hope I have it as long as the old one. I love Macs and would recommend them to anyone.

My old, heavy 17" MacBook was acting up for the last several months so I went to the BB and checked out the MB's. I purchased the 15" especially after the associate told me that there was a $200 discount on the day of my visit. I've had it for about a month now. This thing is fast and the retina display is sharp-sharp-sharp. The BB website tonight shows that it comes with Mavericks OS but mine came with Yosemite. The MagSafe connection isn't as strong as my old one but that's about my only nitpick.

had an older model MacBook Pro and this one doesn't disappoint..speed...a little easier to use...excellent graphics... a winner

The screen is good size and great clarity. The weight is not too heavy. The processor is fast for my web editing projects.
