If looking to invest in a high end do-it-all laptop; Go with the Apple MacBook with touchbar! Its outstanding for performance, speed, reliabilty and no stone left unturned with this computer. My now; college daughter has gone through 4 laptops over 6-7 years time; however i honestly do not feel she will need to upgrade for at least 7+ yrs! My only recommendation for apple is to create them with CD/rom and a capacitive touchscreen; (like their phones/ipads) other than that; additional space can easily be added with an external harddrive. For your purchased; i love best buy! i only shop here for any electronics. Theyre staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I love the price match guarantee! plus if they lower an item w/in two weeks of your purchase; they happily refund the difference! (Which happened to me last yr on an apple Watch2!) it was nice getting $40/50 credit back after i gave the graduate the gift! You cant beat their rewards program! I saved up my rewards and used it all towards my online purchase at Christmas shopping time! I highly recommend best buy for any related item(s) shopping need!

I've had my old macbook pro since 2012, which broke down recently. So, i purchased this new macbook pro and the difference is huge. Much lighter, thinner, and faster. Definitely love the touch bar as well. I run MATLAB on this computer almost everyday and it definitely has been doing its job well. Great laptop.

I've been a Windows person all of my life, and I never could figure out why people would pay so much for a computer. After I replaced my THIRD laptop, I started comparing the MacBook models. I finally broke down and purchased the 13" MacBook Pro, and I can honestly say, this laptop is worth every penny.
The touch bar is a stroke of genius, and it seriously comes in handy. It takes some getting used to, but it's a really amazing feature. If you're trying to decid between this and the Air, I would definitely go with this one. The display is better, it's faster, and the features are more robust.
Overall, you get a quality laptop at a great price. Definitely two thumbs up!

The screen, power, battery, battery charge time, weight and size are excellent. The track pad doesn't have the same fluid feel of my previous MacBook and the keys are loud and do not have the same soft touch as my previous MacBook.

My Best Tech Purchase Ever

This is my first MacBook and I have to say i am really impressed. First of all, the Mac OS is much more intuitive than people would make it sound. Second, if you have an iPhone, the applications core Apple applications are the same and synchronization of your devices and MacBook Pro is quick and easy. Third, the latest upgrade to Microsoft Office 365 works fine on MacOS Sierra despite some negative early reviews. I have yet to experience crashing, and the Apple programmers have taken the time to program the touch bar to be used with Microsoft Office, making for a highly productive combination. I was concerned that 8gb of ram wouldn't be enough for me, but when you consider that OS Sierra is much more efficient than Windows, you realize quickly that 8gb is plenty of memory for the average user. The display is beautiful but I did end up readjusting the white balance because factory programming was not as vibrant. The touch bar is a neat piece of tech allowing for biometric fingerprint login, access to Siri, and customizable quick keys which change between software applications. My only gripe is that the bookmarks function available for Safari has not been programmed for Chrome which is my preferred browser. If you have poor typing discipline, you may find yourself occasionally touching the touch bar on accident. The only inputs are 4 USB C and one headphone jack, so be prepared to buy adaptors for USB 2/3 devices. I almost purchased a 2-in-1 laptop tablet from another manufacturer for about $400 less but I'm so glad I opted for the MacBook Pro. This is the first computer I have not had buyers remorse over because it is well built piece of tech that I know I will get more life out of than previous PCs. Overall, I'm very happy with my MacBook Pro.

This computer is a wonderful powerhorse for the music dj or the student who does countless projects and needs a reliable computer. I love the versatility and weight. One downfall is there are no USB ports but the other features make this computer worth while. I don't really recall using USB that much in my former computers so this isn't much of an issue. If you're an apple fanatic or just love new and exciting tech this computer is for you!

Size and built is durable. It is lacking in the basic ports so you need to make sure you purchase the necessary adapter plugs. The touch bar is a really nice feature and provides a lot of excellent functionality for the commonly used items. The display is beautiful - standard for the Macs.
The only thing preventing a 5th star is - well it's a mac...I purchased this for my wife and getting things installed was quite the exercise of consulting the oracle (Google) in order to figure out what needed to be unlocked on what account with what permissions...basic installs were okay, but power user configuration with OS is not as simple as with windows. Full disclosure - this could just be a lack of familiarity with the OS.

I purchased the MacBook Pro with touch bar as a replacement for my 2009 MacBook Pro. In reviews I read, customers said they wouldn't pay extra for the touch bar if they had it to do over again. I disagree. The touch bar is one of the best improvements! It provides shortcuts specific to the application you are using. It also provides Touch ID sign in which I think is so convenient and safe. The screen is phenomenal and I love that it weighs a pound less than my previous MacBook Pro.

Great MacBook Upgrade

I upgraded from a 2013 MacBook Air to this and it was a huge improvement. Much faster, better screen, nicer keyboard and the touch bar is a great added benefit. I use this mostly for work but also play a view games on it. So far everything I've played works really well. Battery life is a little bit better than the MacBook Air but not really that noticeable. Fit and Finish are very nice and it is super light for being a MacBook Pro. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for an upgrade from a lower tier mac laptop.

Today is my first day with MacBook Pro 2016 with TouchBar. it is good laptop which has both pros and cons. I expect much more better battery life(hope it is because of just first day of using). TouchBar is pretty cool thing but definitely not game changer. Screen is just amazing.
Pros:
Screen(Beautiful screen, love it)
design(very, very cool design)
macOS(great OS, I actually was a Windows-guy)
trackpad(perfect size for me)
keyboard(Yes, I am the boy who likes it:))
TouchBar(100% not game changer, but very useful for me)
miss of touch screen(I completely agree with Apple - laptops doesn't have to have a touch screen)
TouchID(now you don't have to type your password every single time)
Cons:
battery life
#Dongleslife
no MagSafe:(
Overpriced
Bottom line: very good laptop from Apple with superb design and screen, but also with worse battery life, than in cheaper model and really high price.
Would I recommend it to my friends? Yes, but not for all of them.

STILL THE MOST LUXURIOUS LAPTOP

One look at the new MacBook Pro 13 with Touch Bar is all you need to know it’s a Mac. That’s even more impressive now that Apple has decided to take attention away from its branding, ditching the glowing white apple in favor of a slick, subtle gloss logo similar to what’s on the MacBook, the iPhone, and the iPad.
A quick look at the specifications could make you think Apple’s new MacBook Pro 13 had an old display. It’s still Retina, which means the resolution is still 2,560 × 1,600. That was stunning in 2012, but today it seems mediocre next to QHD+ (3,200 × 1,800) and 4K screens.
Apple has always shown an affinity for audio quality rarely found elsewhere, and the MacBook Pro is no exception. In fact, its speakers are the best we can recall hearing in a 13-inch system. That’s saying a lot, because a few recent laptops in this category, like the Asus Zenbook 3, have surprised us with their quality.
While the MacBook Pro 13 takes a step forward in processor performance, it takes a significant step back in battery capacity. The previous model had a 74.9 watt-hour battery, but the MacBook Pro 13 with Touch Bar has 49.2 watt-hour battery (the model without Touch Bar has a slightly larger 54.5 watt-hour battery). That’s a reduction in capacity of almost 35 percent.
to conclude, highlights are
Exquisite look and feel
Screen is among the best we’ve tested
Loud, enjoyable speakers
Spacious, responsive touchpad
Top-tier hard drive performance

I was on the fence about shelling out so much money on a mac book pro, which only has 8G of Ram, only 4 USB-c ports and wasn't happy about the hard disk and memory being soldered in, not to mention the usefulness of the touchbar. Having used the MBP for a month now, I feel a lot better about this purchase. I still am not happy about the memory and hard disk being soldered in, except for that I have no issue with any of the other concerns. The device performs well even with Parallels and a bunch of other applications running. Touchbar is some what handy, although I am still getting used to it. Yes, I did have to buy adapters for RJ-45, USB-A and HDMI, but it doesn't bother me, as I don't have to use them on a daily basis. Lastly, I got a great price on it, as I bought the 2016 model with student discount and a trade in. Overall, a great product and I am happy with it.

Computer is as bad as a 2 year old who is teathing with a fever. Thing is as fast as a cheetah after a meal, slimmer than the swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated and only a touch heavier than it's cost weighed out in cash. Has all the regular Apple stuff you would expect, like the apple with a bite out of it on the back. Strange they traded the disk drive and everything else on the sides of the old for 4 of these magic ports that do all that stuff... it's pricy to buy adapters for literally everything you want to do with it, but being able to plug your charger into any of the 4 usb slots while you're on a hammered online shopping binge totally comes in the clutch. Touch bar that displays your open websites is kinda sketchy depending on what you have open in the other tabs, but what ever. Don't bother with other reviews, I'm telling it just how it is.

This purchase is replacing a 2 yr old Macbook Pro and I must say this is an awesome choice. Loving this touch bar, it can do quite a bit and I am still discovering all it has to offer. Computer is fast, beautiful screen and works flawlessly. The touch pad is perfect and comfortable. I'm not a computer pro by any means but I would consider myself an experienced user as I am 45 years old and have been using computers since I was 10. The price made me hesitate at first and I know it will come down eventually as the model matures with time, but it was a birthday gift and birthdays don't wait! I am very pleased with this laptop. Battery life is excellent too. If you are in the market for one, I say go for it as the bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the price has been forgotten!

I bought a new MacBook in January 2017. The computer exceeds or means all of my expectations. The Touch Bar on the top is useful however, I do not feel it is completely necessary and may just be there for style points. The computer is light weight, sleek and easy to carry. I've had no issues with it in the past year

I used to have a vaio laptop when I started school but had to switch to a new one when it started to act up. I'm glad I chose this macbook pro, besides the touchbar which is new to macbooks, I love that it is light to carry anywhere I go. It is thinner compared to other macbook pros.
