    Wonderful Stylus

I bought the Apple Pencil to accompany my new 12.9 inch iPad Pro. It works wonderfully and the battery lasts long and charges quickly. The accuracy is amazing - palm detection and writing fluidity feels like you're using a normal pen and paper. If anything, the price is a bit steep at $100 for a glorified stylus. As far as performance goes... it can't be beat!

The pencil's ease of us, long battery life, and downright ageless elegant design is what easily sets itself apart from the rest. On top of this, the overall writing and drawing experience is the best in the industry as well, with the least amount of lag and highly supported third party applications.

I bought the new iPad to begin sketching and drawing (again) ...and paired (together) with the Apple Pencil, this is one amazing and powerful tool. I haven't sketched in years, and would often go thru many iterations and way too much paper. Now, I can practice and hone my skills w/o waste! The Apple Pencil works perfectly with the iPad and together, they open up endless new possibilities!

    Is it just a stylus?

I got a nice big iPad Pro, and saw the Apple Pencil displayed close by. I thought it might be an overpriced stylus, but I thought I may as well get it since I was splurging to get the iPad Pro anyway. Well, at first I thought this was a big stylus. But in using it, I'm finding I like it more and more. The subtle nuances of this are interesting. When using email, I find I actually go faster on the on-screen keyboard than I do by hand. When using Safari, I find I can pinpoint links and such with greater precision than by hand (or by finger, actually). And this stylus helps to keep those pesky fingerprints off the screen. I was a little dismayed that it's completely round, so I figured it would roll off the desk if I wasn't careful. But those worries were unfounded. It seems the pencil is slightly weighted so it WON'T roll off the desk! Pretty clever. I haven't really used the shading aspect of the thing in drawing programs yet, but I'm looking forward to that. Battery charging is pretty quick for a boost of power (leaving it plugged in for about 30 seconds gets you an hour or so of more use). I like the little coupler you get so you can charge this from any lightning connector (although that coupler is so small I can see losing it quickly). All in all, I'm pleased. It's not just a big overpriced stylus. OK, it still might be overpriced, but it's Apple, so...you know...

Apple really nailed it with this pencil. It feels very natural in use. The battery lasts for quite a while and even better, it recharges very quickly to 100% (maybe 10 minutes). I can see this is going to get more use than I expected. App makers are continuing to incorporate this into their apps. PDF Expert just updated their app to support markup of PDFs with the Apple Pencil.

I do some freelance graphic design work on my iPad Pro. This stylus is very sleek and easy to charge right from your iPad. It's accurate and light making it easy to work with as a designer or creating any digital work of art. I would reccomend this stylus to anyone with an apple product who wants to get into art as a hobby or profession. Nothing beats it!

Have used the pencil a few times in apps designed for the pencil, works well. You can charge the pencil directly from your IPad, however, this feature does not work if you are using an IPad case. The opening in the cases are not large enough to accommodate the pencil. It comes with an adapter so you can hook it up to the lightning cable. Holds a charge for a long time.

It's accurate, easy to charge and comfortable. I would take off a half a star for the price, which is about $25 too much for what it is and the battery life isn't the best in the world but fine. Still a great stylus, but definitely not perfect.

So far so good. Hand writing notes are very easy, clear, and precise. Creating artwork is easy and precise as well. The pen is comfortable to hold on to. My kids (all under 10) are able to use it as well with success. Charging is fast. One improvement I would like to see is a charging light on the pen so you can see what level it is at.

I purchased the Apple Pen to go along with my iPad Pro I purchased for work, didn't think I would use it a ton, but figured I should go for it. I was wrong. I am constantly traveling with work and reviewing documents and this pen makes it easy to mark up PDFs, Images and PowerPoints with my notes/edits. I am happy with the purchase and the battery life is great, if its low, plug it in for 15 secs to your iPad and you get another 30 minutes of use! Wish the pen was a bit thinner, all in all, good purchase!

I work for a university and a professor uses this on his ipad pro to teach classes with. It is a good stylus because its pressure sensitive, charges quickly, and works better than the generic ones on the market. Its a little steep in price all things considered but students/faculty seem to like it. Just be careful not to break it off while charging in your ipad.

I’m happy that the new generation iPads can support Apple Pencil now. It’s really a great pen. It’s intuitive and there’s virtually no lag. For the functionality of this I give FIVE stars. But this pencil has been around for a while now and unfortunately the competition has surpassed it in design and overall tactile feedback. For example, when you write with an Apple Pencil, it feels like you’re writing on a glass screen. But when you write with the current Microsoft Surface pen, it actually feels like you’re writing on a piece of paper by the way the pen drags on the screen. The because the Apple Pencil is a hard plastic, your fingers become worn more quickly when taking notes for a short period of time. It’s thicker than most real pens which makes it more difficult to grip. Lastly, the battery doesn’t really last that long and so I’m having to charge it much more frequently than I do with a Surface Pencil. Having to plug it in to the bottom of the iPad to either charge or connect is so awkward. And of course I’m always afraid to lose the charger for the Pencil. The new Apple Pencil fixes some but not all design flaws, but it’s only usable with the iPad Pro. It’s upsetting they just demoted the original Apple Pencil to regular iPads without and regard to updating its design or usability.

I mainly use my iPad as a design space for use with my Cricut machines. The Apple pencil is a lifesaver when working with intricate designs. It is easy to grip and maneuver with very little effort. Works flawlessly even with a screen protector. Love that it recharges directly from the iPad so I'm not looking all over the place for it.

The pencil is nice and doesn't weigh a lot considering the battery and tech inside. Battery life is decent and it's very precise. Like anything these days you would better off getting an accessory like I did to keep from losing the cap that covers the charging stick. I do wish there were colored ones though but oh well.

Used this hands on for a training class and blew me away. Literally like a pencil, pen, marker, etc. Lag is almost nonexistent, superbly awesome. I use the connector to charge from lightning cable. Lots of good apps, plus the Notes app works very well. Buy this thing, if you can get any discount, take it, other than that, well worth the retail price.

Combined with an iPad Pro, the palm rejection and near instant response makes this Pencil a practical item. Don't expect the experience of a real pencil on paper though. The perfectly cylindrical Pencil, though beautiful, is slippery and may roll off the table. This is alleviated somewhat by the fact that the Pencil is weighted on one side. However, the cap will be easy to lose. I recommend a Cozy to tie the cap to the Pencil. Also find something to keep the small Lightning adapter from getting lost.

Pencil works well. I have a Surface and the pen for it is smooth and the Apple Pencil rivals it. The only drawback is that the apple pencil is TOO long. You can't put it in a shirt pocket, and the pointed end makes it hard to put in your pants pocket. Also, the cap on the end covering the charger will pop off easily and can be hard to find if it happens when you don't expect it to. Last, there are not cases for the ipad pro 9.7 yet that will hold the pencil so you always have to carry it with you in a pocket.

I regularly use this product for taking notes and sketching on my iPad. As a college student it has really come in handy. The pencil charges quickly and lasts a long time. I also love the fact that in can sense the pressure you’re putting on it and that you can rest your hand on the screen while using. The one improvement I would make is that you could by the plastic tips separately. The note taking apps that are best for the pencil are pretty expensive too.

I bought this pen to basically take notes with it and it does an excellent job of doing that with very precise and accurate lettering. It is easy to charge right from my iPad Pro charging port. When it needs to be charged a message comes on my screen to let me know and does not take long to charge. I think it's worth the money.

Decided to try it with my new Pro

Decided to give the Apple Pencil a try with my new iPad Pro. I was hesitant at first due to the high price for a stylus. Boy am I glad I decided to give it a try! It is so much more than a standard stylus. It has changed the way I work. From taking notes in OneNote all day on different projects (I was using note pads throughout the day because I still like to take notes this way), making notation on images and sending them out, and using it to navigate as a stylus. It feels the closest to an actual writing utensil that I have ever used. There is little to no lag, the best I have ever used, and I have tried a few. Using it with numerous drawing/art apps is amazing. I printed out some notes I took with it the first day just to see how they looked printed. I used a few different settings. From a pencil, a pen, to a fountain pen. Once I printed it you could not tell that it was done on an iPad. It looked like I wrote directly on the paper (No, I will not be printing my notes out, this was just a test :)). If you are thinking about buying the Pencil, DO IT! You wont be disappointed. It is amazing! The reason I only gave it 4 Stars - * I wish it came with some type of case. * you have to be careful with the cap that covers the charging port. I can see that it would be very easy to lose if your not keeping it along with the spare tip in some type of case. I found a nice generic case on Amazon for next to nothing and it works great.
