This is a nice, responsive pen for sketching, drawing, painting. There is no lag when using this with the iPad Pro. It has plenty of sensitivity to drawing pressure and using the sides of the nib. Charges super fast too. Wish it came with a case of some sort.

I was quite skeptical about the Apple Pencil at first, it is quite expensive so I planned on using it and maybe returning if I didn’t like it. But I have to say it is the best stylus I’ve ever used and it works perfectly with the iPad Pro. Are use my iPad majority of the time for taking notes in class and it’s exactly like writing on paper, it is your hand writing unlike other styluses where words can be unrecognizable. I highly recommend the stylus if you’re going to use the iPad Pro whether that be for taking notes, drawling, sketching whatever it may be it is the best stylus to use with an iPad.

I was so excited when Apple unveiled the new iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil! It holds a charge well, has never failed, is intuitive to use, and easy against the screen

    Wonderful iPad Accessory

I love it! This particular one was purchased for my daughter, as I already had one. This makes life so much easier if you use an iPad. I am not an artist, but it helps me to handwrite my journal entries when I choose to do so. I also use it for a color-by-number iPad app. It is much more intuituve and precise than my fingers could possibly be. I removed one star because it's a bit of a pain to charge--my little "dongle" broke last week, and I'm having to replace that piece. However, my iPad does not work with the newer generation pencil, so this is what I need. Make sure you get the correct pencil for your iPad, and don't expect to be able to use it anywhere except your iPad, but it's a fantastic accessory nonetheless.

    Good, but not perfect

I kept reading all of these reviews about how perfect this thing is like tech blog writers are trying to convince you that this thing fell from the sky and was labeled "if found, please return to Zeus." What it does well: it's easy and fast to charge, feels nice in the hand, is responsive, and the closest thing to a pencil I have ever used. The catch there is I'm basically comparing this to credit card signature pads because this is the only stylus I have ever bought. Now, I use this on ProCreate and my feedback is based on that, which is basically "the" app for the pencil from those reviews I've read. I will say it is nice, but takes a LOT of tweaking to get it to feel like a real pencil, and the pressure for a dark pointed line versus a dark angled line is vast and unnatural feeling. I would also love to have an eraser function. So yes it's good, no it will not make me throw out my real art supplies.

This is the most accurate and realistic stylus I've ever used. I've never had a "skip" and it's smooth as silk. The battery last a good while and charges very quickly.

I won't lie, when the Apple Pencil first came out I thought it was the dumbest thing ever. I didn't see the need for it or the hype. Now that I'm back in school and take notes primarily on my iPad so I don't have to carry around a notebook, I get it. It's very useful and very intuitive. I only have the latest gen iPad Air so I Geek Squad guy suggested I only needed the 1st gen pencil instead of the 2nd gen, and he was right. This thing does everything I need it too and more. My only con is that if I'm using it for class, it runs out of charge in about two hours. Plus side to that though, it charges very quickly when you plug it into your iPad (like 20-30 minutes quick).

Good stylus but Apple let us down

Excellent interface with the iPad Pro but Apple forgot to design or include an accessory. The pencil cap and charging adaptor need something to help us keep everything together. I bought a silicone cap cuzzy to tether the charging cap that came with a tether to hold the charging adapter and keep it with the power charger. The cap tether stops the Apple Pencil from rolling away. I really like the Pencil's ability to draw various line or brush thicknesses and how it draws just like a real pencil when you lay it sideways to shade a drawing. Mine stays connected to the iPad Pro with no Bluetooth issues and the charge seems to last a very long time. The ability to do a quick charge by plugging the Pencil into the iPad is a great feature.

I own almost 2 dozen stylus for the iPad. Over half are pressure sensitive. I dabble in art and want to take handwritten notes. This is the first one that makes me feel like i'm using a traditional pen or pencil. Others are squishy (rubber tips), have a weird offset tip to screen (almost all pressure sensitive), or have odd tip choices (best previous in my opinion was the Jot touch with the clear disc tip). This looks and works like a pencil. Even my dad can pick it up and be happy with it!

Apple - Apple Pencil (1st Generation)

The Apple Pencil is still the most precise, accurate tablet stylus available, and an invaluable aid for artists and note-takers working with either the sixth-gen iPad or an iPad Pro. But I can't help but feel that Apple has lost some opportunities by not updating it in more than two years. A rubber loop connecting the back cap to the Pencil; a female, rather than male Lightning jack for charging; and maybe even an eraser function would be small physical changes that would definitely improve the Pencil's usability.

Great stylus with some weird design choices

It’s a great stylus. It really is. It feels fantastic (especially with a paper-feel screen protector) and functions really well with both note-taking apps like Notability and digital painting apps like Procreate. Its design misses are well-known at this point, with the weird sticking-out-of-the-iPad charging position (though it’s not a breakage risk—the plug itself is on mounted an incredibly durable hinge system) and the cap that’s easy to lose. It also doesn’t have a place to keep it out of the box, so it’s easy to lose. But I still think it’s an essential add to the more-inexpensive models of iPads and makes a great little system.

I’ve been a long time Wacom Cintiq user and I’ve tested tons of other products through the years that can’t even be considered a possible competition. But apple has finally joined the game and they have definitely stepped up with there simple pencil design that has great reaction and sensitivity levels. Very minimal lag. The Apple Pencil is a great on the go tool for the working artist. Lightweight plus comfortable in the hand. This product was also super easy you set up

I have tried many different versions of stylus and was determined I did not need this one. But after trying one, I'm so happy I bought it. A bit on the pricey side, but the quality goes unmatched. Best pen I have ever used! Is pressure sensitive and very easy to use, and to connect to tablet.

At first this seems to be a very costly device with very little functionality but I can assure you this is the best stylus for the iPad. If you are artistic and you need this for drawing or anything of that nature, it's a no brainer, buy it. It is costly but the craftsmanship is excellent the battery life is amazing and I've never seen a issue of lag or the Pencil not being detected. I use this primarily for writing notes and other things and I can tell you it feels like writing on paper. My handwriting at first was messy but after using it and adjusting it seems to improve significantly.

    Best stylus for the iPad

I've been using this stylus for almost a month now. I use it to take notes in meetings, draw, and anything you'd use a stylus for on a tablet. The lag is minimal, and it keeps a charge pretty well. My only complaint, and it's not a big one, is that the little adapter you use when you connect the pencil to a computer is easy to lose. I've hung onto the box just to keep track of this little thing - and the additional nib. I know there are cases out there for the Pencil and accessories, but I'm not really interested in those. The Pencil is a must have for anyone using an iPad Pro.
