I have to admit that this pen is awesome. For drawing, you can create amazing detail and the writing is remarkably smooth. It does definitely perform better than other non-Apple options. Plus, the charging improvements over the 1st generation are outstanding. Unfortunately it only works with the latest generation of iPads. But, the price is a tough pill to swallow. I wish it were cheaper, but I guess if you want the best quality, you have to pay for it.

Recently upgraded my iPad setup and had to get the newer pencil. Super happy with the 2nd generation. Charging is easy and my battery is never low. The pencil itself is lighter compared to the 1st generation and easier to write with.

Great pencil. A little on the expensive side but we'll worth it to use with my ipad. Works flawlessly.

    For Artists Only

The Apple Pencil works as flawlessly as one would imagine with the iPad. Pairing is instant and totally automatic and charging is a breeze. Being able to “write” text directly instead of using the keyboard may or may not be fun but I personally find it clunky, impractical and avoid it. The Apple Pencil is a must for digital artists and this is where it really shines. As it is very expensive (even on sale), if you don’t need this device specifically for creating digital art on an iPad and just need a stylus, there are way cheaper options out there!

It took me a while to get used to this, but with the addition of the PaperLike screen protector, it's become a very handy note taker. The battery life of the pencil is very good. One thing I did encounter, though, and I haven't seen anyone else mention this. My Pencil stopped working once, and after unpairing and re-paring it, it still wouldn't work. I noticed that the tip had pulled a little bit out of the pen, and when I twisted/pushed it back in, all was well again. Something to watch for if you start having issues. But other than that, I'm happy with this purchase.

Great update to the iPad Pro

This is the new Apple Pencil for the late 2018 iPad Pros. The surface on this one is more matte finish and less slippery than version 1. This one has a flat surface to keep it from rolling off the desk. It charges with inductive charging by magnetically attaching to the side of the iPad. Unfortunately it is more expert than version 1. Also, this version will not work on last years model and version 1 won’t work on the 2018 iPad Pros. Otherwise, this is a great update for the iPad pros.

2 words, PLANNED obsolescence!!! The product is just okay. I do like the fact that you can charge it directly on your ipad pro. i don't like the fact is that's the only way you can charge it. Doesn't have a Find Device featuere. These things can get lost super easy.

You know that one meme where that person was writing and flames starting appearing that how I feel about this APPLE PENCIL like I can fill out my documents with ease, like this how the Declaration of Independence should be written with this pencil is so good and it has features such as pressures sensitivity and can switch between the eraser they should make other colors as the year goes on

    Apple Sharpens Its Pencil

This version of the Apple Pencil brings some great improvements. The biggest change is that it magnetically snaps to the edge of the iPad for charging--so much better than awkwardly sticking it straight out of the Lightning port. It's a bit shorter and easier to hold. And the double-tap to switch drawing tools feature is cool, if maybe a little fiddly to make work at times. It does seem to lose its charge fairly quickly, but no worries...just snap it onto the side of the iPad to charge it back up!

I like Apple products. It’s just done right. This pencil is a great improvement over the first one. And the first one was not bad. The control with different apps is impressive. I use it to take notes at work and make fast drawings. I will use it to make drawings for customer schools that I teach for our company. I like the ability to put a fast charge on it. The magnet charging on the iPad Pro is really cool.

I love that this charges by sitting on top of the iPad. With the old pencil, I was constantly getting low battery warnings, and was always worried that I would damage the pencil or my ipad while charging it. (I lost the adapter after about four minutes). This one is always charged - and the iPad battery life is still impressive. I love the double tap to change between pen and eraser. I’m bummed that the second tip is no longer included, but overall, this is a great upgrade!

So smooth and really unlike any stylus you've ever used. If you are getting an iPad that does support this, you'll want to get it because literally nothing else can compare to it really. I think that if you don't need to write, then skip it because it is pricey but if you know you're going to be writing a lot, drawing, jotting notes in e-books etc, then don't hesitate and just get one. You won't regret it..

Really great accessory to the new iPad Pros. Not totally necessary if you aren’t an artist or designer, but if you’re considering an iPad Pro as a laptop replacement, it’s basically like a mouse in that sense and good for taking notes as well. It honestly depends on your preference and usage, but it works exactly as advertised and is a much better improvement in every aspect over the first generation Apple Pencil. Only real con is the price, unfortunately. Although, you do get what you pay for.

I love the 2nd generation of the Apple Pencil. It feels good in my hand and I don't think the nib is too thick or makes drawing difficult. I don't really use it for notes - just art, but I mean it is a fantastic 'stylus'. Much better than the first generation I think. My only complaint is that I think it is priced a bit too high.

Works great. I had to buy a new one after a couple years because I was unaware that these types of lithium batteries with degrade if left uncharged, so please be mindful of that. They are convenient with the magnetic attachment/charging and work perfectly otherwise.

I loaded the Procreate app on my 11" iPad Pro and needed the Apple Pencil for the drawings I'm making for class. The Apple Pencil paired with my iPad immediately and charged up very quickly. It works super with the app. If you are into any of the art apps, the Apple Pencil is great!
