Customers highly value the Studio Display for its exceptional display quality, perfect 5K resolution, phenomenal built-in speakers, and top-tier Apple design. However, some express concerns regarding the high price point, the 60Hz refresh rate, the absence of HDMI inputs, and compatibility issues. Some customers also feel that the adjustable stand should be included.

The display is nice-looking and solid. It has very good speakers and just looks nice. Unfortunately, the refresh rate is 60Hz, the camera for FaceTime is sub par, you have to pay more $$ to have it come with an adjustable height, tilt, and it's expensive for a display with these limitations. W

My previous job got me the LG 5K Fine Display that Apple used to sell. After changing jobs, I found myself having to buy my own display for my home office. After a ton of research, I decided to try Apple’s new Studio Display. This is a nice upgrade on the previous LG, which you could still find out there for around $1,300. For a few extra hundred bucks, this is a way better choice, since you’re getting the latest tech in terms of display, (center stage) camera, speakers, etc. The design is also way more appealing. But he top reason for me to go with the Studio Display was the 600 nits brightness. I like to work in a bright room with plenty of sun light and a regular 350 nits display just doesn’t work for me.

Not going to lie -- the price point for this display was a VERY difficult pill to swallow, and I previously had no intention of purchasing it. The lack of features on this particular model (height adjustment, screen rotation, the thicker-than-preferred-in-2022 bezels was almost enough to deter me away initially.
However, I've worked in the tech industry for years and I also do a lot of photography & video work, but truthfully have never spent more than $400 on a quality monitor. I've specifically targeted and purchased monitors that meet the specs I need for editing, and I CANNOT tell you exactly how many monitors I've gone through over even over the last 5 years, but it's maybe close to 2 per year. I've purchased the 28" & 32" versions of Sony's 4K monitors from Best Buy as well -- attempted to calibrate them, but the color just would not stick... Anyway, my birthday was the following day & Best Buy had one in stock -- so I bit the bullet and made this purchase.
I had slight buyer's remorse for the first week, but it quickly faded. The display fits perfectly next to my iMac and seriously ties the aesthetic together in my office compared to having a monitor of a different brand, primarily being housed in black plastic, inconvenient controls, unmatching color profiles, having to manually adjust the monitor settings separately, etc...
If you decide to get one, you'll probably laugh at the ginormous, clever yet simple, and protective packaging that this thing comes in. But I think that you'll love the quality and aesthetic of this thing. It was weirdly relieving having a monitor where I'm able to control the monitor settings via my Macs -- and more especially, having matching color profiles where both my iMac (or even my MacBook Pro M1Pro) and Studio Display have 100% matching colors on screen which speeds up my workflows. Not sure why people are complaining about the camera (I suppose it could be better this day in age, but image quality is great with the lighting I have in my office, and with Apple's Center Stage - people surprisingly trip out and give positive comments while I'm in Zoom meetings. Sound quality is fantastic and pairs very well with the homepods in the room. I ended up giving away the iMac to someone who needed a computer for college, so I now use the display solely with my MacBook Pro -- and having the USB-C/Thunderbolt4 ports comes in clutch by having the display also be a hub. Oh -- need I say that you literally just need the one Thunderbolt cable connected to the MacBook to connect the display, power the MacBook, as well as having access to whatever USB-C peripherals (I have 3 SSDs connected) you want connected. Almost forgot -- controllable Night Shift mode and even screen brightness via your Mac/keyboard -- YUUUSSSSSS!!!
This display is NOT for everyone and is obviously not a necessity. However, it's a beautiful monitor that you can tell will last for well over 5+ years of monitor swapping -- so in that sense, it is worth the investment, at least for me.
Lastly, if you're going to drop this amount of money on this display, just get some reassurance and get Apple Care. I purchased the $50 annual plan since it'll last until you decide to cancel it and is worth having for something like this.

The monitor is not cheap - period. However, the price was more palatable with Best Buy open box pricing. The fit and finish are unparalleled and its functionality is top tier within the Apple ecosystem.

Its everything you would expect from apple. Solid build. Great design. Wonderful sound. The camera could be much better and so could the price point. It’s not significantly better than the iMac 27” it is replacing….. but out with the old and in with the new.
Looks good with my studio ultra

The display quality on this is absolutely stunning. I’ve used a 4K LG monitor, but the Studio Display clearly outshines it. I work remotely and spend 8+ hours a day in front of my screen, and since switching to this, I’ve noticed far less eye strain, which used to be a daily issue.
The build quality is classic Apple: premium materials, solid construction, and a design that stands out on any desk. The built-in speakers are another surprise. They’re so good that I haven’t felt the need to use any external desktop speakers.
If you spend a lot of time at your desk, this display is worth the investment.

Beautiful display! I just replaced my Apple Thunderbolt Display with the Studio Display. The new design is just outstanding. The display is expensive and not for everyone, but for those looking for a beautiful display for your Macbook Pro, I would highly recommend this.

I love the quality of this display. There may be cheaper alternatives, but as someone fully in the Apple universe, I love just plugging my MacBook Pro into the display and it works seamlessly. The speakers work well, and I like that I can have my Time Machine backup drive, and a few other accessories plugged in that means I don't need to plug in multiple things when I dock my laptop.
The size is nice at 27 inches, and colors look good. It was a significant upgrade from the 21.5" iMac this replaced. While the camera might not be the best webcam out there, I've had no issues, and compared to the 2017 iMac it does seem like an improvement.
Overall, I'm glad I bought this display.

I've been very pleased with the quality of this display. While a little on the pricier side, it was well worth the money. Much like all Apple Products.
It feels hefty and looks great on my desk. I shuffle between two MacBooks daily and switching from one to the other with this display is no issue at all.

I need to show large detailed spreadsheets, and side-by-side projects. Was using a high quality 4K display for this, and thought my eye sight had deteriorated.
Turned out it hadn’t (per my eye doctor). It was about how a 5K display is vastly better than a 4K ditto.
I had previously used a 5K iMac, and thought that was the benchmark until I saw this screen. Yes, same resolution, but this one is more clear. It just stands out from any other display. “Outrageous price,” but I have to reluctantly admit it is worth it.
I also compared this Standard glass version with the even more expensive Nano glass version; found that for my office there was no need for Nano glass because the windows light doesn’t reflect from the screen into my eyes. So I saved $200, and haven’t regretted it since

This guy is hooked to a MacBook Pro Late 2020 M1 and the image quality is very, very good. I have been using the (2012) Apple Cinema Display for the past 10 years, which has held up very well. Nice to have the extra ports in the back on this one as well, since my laptop only has a couple of ports. Currently hardwiring ethernet into the back of the monitor with a BestBuy (Platinum™ - USB-C to Ethernet Adapter - White) which so far is working very well. I see this monitor as an improved, next generation monitor with better sound, better video and better resolution and would expect another ten years out of it easily.

This monitor is an excellent purchase. The sound is spectacular, the video quality is excellent, the camera resolution is magnificent, it is worth what it asks for, its aluminum design makes it look like a monitor for life, its port options are excellent for connecting devices.

An excellent main screen for an an iPad or Mac. Colors are top notch, and one cord for everything. A great webcam, and light sensors mean your MacBook can stay closed all the time.
Best 5K screen on the market.Don't confuse with 4K

The highest quality 5K screen to date. If you're wondering why 5K is important it's for 2 reasons. Retina/HiDPI and viewing angle. What that means is you have 4x the pixel density of a 2560x1440 monitor, meaning you can run "scaled" 1440p resolution with 4 times the clarity, which allows lots of workspace and proper scaling. This can NOT be done properly on a 4K screen, which is what many of the haters are saying is a better value. Try both side by side and make up your own mind. Your eyes will thank you for it!
Also, being 5K means it's larger than 4K so you can have a video at full 4K while having menus and toolbars out of the frame (I'm not a video editor but I know plenty).
Lastly, the viewing angle which Apples glossy screen surface actually allows better edge to edge clarity with less washout. Believe me, these screens are so easy to work with and I own dozens of screens, workstations and TV's
(A 5K OLED would give it a run for it's money but they don't exist and an 8K doesn't scale properly and are too large for workstations anyhow).
Speakers are great as far as monitor speakers go. Yes, there are better webcams but I didn't buy this for that purpose as this is a "work" monitor not a giant Siri/iPad/toy.
This monitor wants to be run on Monterey, but works on BigSur without full integration.

I bought this as a normal person that uses my computer for just regular work (no photos, not a youtuber, etc). It completes my dream setup for my desk. I have the Mac M1 Mini and just added this monitor and it is beautiful. The text and colors just pop off the display and it was packaged beautifully, easy to setup. I didn't need anymore height, I think it is plenty tall. I've wanted a 5k monitor for awhile gut settled for the LG 24 4k with my Mac Mini and this just blows it out of the water. I am so happy with this display. I know the "pro" are griping about many things with this display, but I cannot afford the Pro XDR nor never will--this was pushing it and thankfully I had a couple items I could trade in to use toward it. I love it and think it is great! The build quality is beautiful, speakers sound great for me and what I do, I only use the webcam occasionally. So, I'm a normal person that wanted to splurge on me and get something I wanted. That is who this monitor is for.

The best display for your mac. Excellent quality and good design. I had an imac 5k and wanted the same quality on my external display. This display produces the same quality as my imac. I use it for my macbook pro (m1 pro). It also has good sound from the speakers. The only thing missing is 120hz and deep black like on my macbook.

I bought the Studio Display to go with my recent purchase of a Mac-Mini ... to get the best display possible I figured it would also have to come from Apple. It required NO assembly and all I needed to do was plug it in, call my Apple advisor, to get everything updated & working with the Mac-mini. My only complaint would be the HIGH price. I have an alternate display of a 4K Samsung TV that also came from Best Buy, which has excellent resolution. I really can't tell the difference between the 5K Studio and the TV,
