Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the excellent display quality, high resolution, and impressive speakers as significant strengths of the Studio Display. Many also appreciate its elegant design and ease of use. However, the high price point and the 60Hz refresh rate are common criticisms. Some users also express concerns about the limitations of the stand and the non-removable power cord.

    A Wonderful Product

The Studio Display is one of the best Apple products I have purchased. Sure, people have a point about the price, and the power cord not being long enough and not removable. Once it's plugged in however, these negatives go away. The color is fantastic, sound is remarkable, and overall, the design is incredible. I also think the camera features are quite interesting (reactions, portrait, and center stage). This display is a perfect addition to any Mac setup and will elevate your experience.

This display sets a new benchmark for quality and performance (no joke). While it lacks a high refresh rate, the stunning picture and color accuracy more than make up for it. The pixel density is insane, eliminating any visible pixelation and delivering an incredibly sharp and immersive viewing experience. Working on this display is genuinely enjoyable, making even routine tasks an extremely satisfying experience. The investment is well worth it for the level of visual perfection and precision it provides. The built-in speakers and camera are equally impressive, offering high-quality functionality that complements the display’s clean, minimalist design. When paired with a modern Apple computer, the integration feels seamless and elevates the overall workspace. This monitor is a standout choice for anyone seeking top-tier performance and design. This is a must have piece of gear.

After a series of monitors that just didn’t work well with my Mac and iPad, finally bit the bullet and bought this. Voila, All my issues resolved. Devices charge properly, connect through one cable, enough usbc ports, webcam built in, resolution native and amazing. Sound is surprisingly good. Brightness and clarity very good. One gripe I have is the webcam. Expected this to be much better. Big let down relative to the steep price. Secondly, power cord not removable. May or may not be long enough for your setup. Would be so much better to have a standard plug that you could replace with longer or shorter cable for clean setup.

This is an Apple display. That means the picture quality is good, the price is high, and it works seamlessly with a Mac computer. The build quality is fantastic. There is no wobble, and the stand is very sturdy. It does have fans, though I've never heard them in my home office. The display would benefit from additional ports on the back, however. Picture quality is great, and running at the "recommended" scaling on a Mac produces absurdly sharp text. This is a true 5k display, so with the UI scaled to 1440p you will still have decent on-screen real-estate on the 27" display. The speakers are surprisingly competent, but do not delude yourself into thinking they are great. They are perhaps the very best built-in speakers I've ever heard, but that is not as great praise as it may seem. Good enough for zoom calls and casual background music, absolutely. Good enough for critical listening? Not so much. I don't use the built-in camera, but that is probably the weakest feature on the display, being lower resolution than one should expect from a premium product. I'd like to see >60Hz refresh rates and HDR, and more ports. That said, this is a fantastic monitor to pair up with your Mac.

I recently invested in the Apple Studio Display - Standard Glass Tilt Adjustable in Silver, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. From the moment I set it up, I was struck by its stunning design and sleek aesthetics, which instantly elevated the look of my workspace. The adjustable tilt feature allows me to customize my viewing angle, ensuring that I can work comfortably for hours on end without straining my neck. But it's not just about looks – the display quality is truly exceptional. Colors are vibrant, images are crisp, and everything just looks better on this screen. Whether I'm editing photos, watching videos, or just browsing the web, the Studio Display delivers an immersive and enjoyable experience every time. What I appreciate most, though, is how seamlessly it integrates with my other Apple devices. From my MacBook to my iPad, everything works together seamlessly, making multitasking a breeze. Plus, features like True Tone and Night Shift help reduce eye strain, allowing me to work longer without feeling fatigued. Overall, the Apple Studio Display has exceeded my expectations in every way. It's not just a monitor – it's an essential tool that enhances my productivity and brings joy to my workday. If you're in the market for a high-quality display that looks as good as it performs, I can't recommend it enough.

Wonderful and Aweful at the same time! Love the materials (Aluminum and Glass - not the cheap plastic crap from other brands), build and image quality, brightness, speakers and sound are phenominal, profiles that are already built in for this display. All this is wonderful beyond imagination. However, WHY in the Heck did they put a non-removable power cord? is that better than a power brick - definately, but come on Apple - this is a big miss. The other miss is that you have to pick a stand or a vesa and can't switch between the 2 yourself. Makes no sense whatsoever... Those are the only 2 things I hate about this monitor though... It also wouldn't hurt if they build a 32 inch version.... All in all I'm happy with the display, but there are some major items to complain about...

This monitor has great PPI, picture quality and build quality. Most importantly it just works with your Mac and IPad devices flawlessly. I was previously using an LG 5K2k ultrawide display. Right off the bat it had connectivity issues through thunderbolt and eventually the port stop working all together. Even though the LG has HDR, the Apple Studio Display trumps it in brightness, smoothness and clarity. I’ve owned Apple monitors before, and I already know it will work without issues for a very long time. I considered other Ultra-wide monitors on the market, but I didn’t feel like the headache of trying to tweak stuff to work with my Macs properly. It also work flawlessly with my IPad pro unlike the LG that didn’t work at all. Yes, it’s kind of pricy but if you own a Mac and want something to work flawless it’s this or the Apple Pro Display XDR. The only con is that is only has one thunderbolt 3 input port for video. Would be nice to have multiple ports.

It’s amazing if you’re deep in the Apple ecosytem. If not, then look at other options that far more cost effective. It all boils down to your specific needs. Personally, I needed a monitor with a built-in camera, so I didn’t have to worry about multiple devices & wires, and I wanted something clean & minmalist, so this display offered that despite the price. PROS: Beautiful, minmalist, built-in webcam, 5K resolution, and incredible built-in speakers. CONS: 60hz, LCD panel, built-in webcam suffers in low light conditions, and sometimes in quality lighting.

When this first came out, I consumed the backlash like everyone else did. I was skeptical, but I knew I would try to get it at some point. I happened to luck up on when shortly after the launch at a Best Buy in my city so I jumped on it because they were hard to get at the time. I'm a long-time mac user, I used to do more creative work, but now this is more for general productivity and office work. I don't use it as much for media consumption, but it handles that well when called upon. I've now been using it full time for just over 2 months> it integrates into my setup perfectly (2021 Macbook pro). The 5k resolution is native to macOS, and to my knowledge, there isn't another display that renders MacOS this way. so everything is sharp and bright, pleasing to the eye. WIll work very well for creative work (photography in my case) and for productivity (MS Office and other 'desk job' type of work). Build quality: this is as good as it gets. I have a cinema display from 2004 and a thunderbolt from 2011, both of which still work and still look great despite their age. both are still usable today, and I have little doubt this screen can last me that long as well. I also have 2 LG 4k monitors and an ultrawide so I have other options to make up for where this monitor lacks like for gaming or needing to hook up a windows machine, etc. this basically completes my home setup and compliments my MBP perfectly. I know it's costly but it's an underrated device when you consider who it's made for. I am the right user for this based on my use cases, but that may not be true for everyone. If you have your eye on it and you like it, it will not disappoint you, and I would recommend making the purchase if you are a late-model mac user.

Great screen for a Mac Mini system

I bough this display for a Mac Mini - based system and it works perfectly. It is just there when you need it, otherwise it is sleeping. I had zero issues connecting (just a plug and play) and using it. The picture quality is excellent, as you might expect. I have a standard glass and have no complaints. The standard base is very sturdy and it tilts sufficiently for a normal use (there is a version that also moves vertically but I see no point, unless you need it). My biggest dilemma was to go for a new integral iMac vs a combination of a Mac mini + this screen. I think in terms of screen quality these two choices are very similar but I can tell that you will not regret if you choose this one.

Fantastic Experience with Apple Display Purchase at Best Buy I recently purchased an Apple display from Best Buy, and I couldn’t be happier with both the product and the service I received. The display itself is stunning—crystal-clear resolution, sleek design, and perfect for both work and creative tasks. Apple’s quality really shines through in every detail. What made the experience even better was the excellent customer service at the store. The staff were knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely helpful. They took the time to answer my questions, explain the product features, and even helped me compare options so I could make the best choice. Checkout was smooth, and they offered to help with setup advice as well. It’s always nice to feel taken care of when making a significant purchase, and Best Buy definitely delivered on that. Highly recommend both the Apple display and the Best Buy team for anyone considering

I use to have 2 monitors to handle my programming and work load but man switching over to the Apple studio has been game changer. I didn’t realize how refreshing have one big screen can be and it’s such an upgrade from my laptop processing the work load. I usually have about 6 screens open and because of the size of the screen and resolution i can comfortable enjoy 4 screens at once. I have also played league of legends and a few other games on it with mid graphics and it handles easily and smooth. If you program, editing or needs it for work load like excel or data transfer it’s great for that and probably even a bit higher stuff. It’s worth the price but if you can’t afford it then it’s best to go with 2k screen resolution and an under 700$ laptop.

Excellent 5K monitor. + Retina Display with 218 PPI - this is the single most important thing regarding this monitor. Text and images are crystal clear. + If you work in front of a monitor all day, do your eyes and braind a favor and buy this. You will not get as tired. + Only comparison is LG 5K, which is $1300. I have the LG 4K version, and its frame broke within 1 month. Build quality of the Studio Display is unmatched. Highly recommended as expected!

The Best Display I’ve Used for All-Day Work

The display quality on this is absolutely stunning. I’ve used a 4K LG monitor, but the Studio Display clearly outshines it. I work remotely and spend 8+ hours a day in front of my screen, and since switching to this, I’ve noticed far less eye strain, which used to be a daily issue. The build quality is classic Apple: premium materials, solid construction, and a design that stands out on any desk. The built-in speakers are another surprise. They’re so good that I haven’t felt the need to use any external desktop speakers. If you spend a lot of time at your desk, this display is worth the investment.

My previous job got me the LG 5K Fine Display that Apple used to sell. After changing jobs, I found myself having to buy my own display for my home office. After a ton of research, I decided to try Apple’s new Studio Display. This is a nice upgrade on the previous LG, which you could still find out there for around $1,300. For a few extra hundred bucks, this is a way better choice, since you’re getting the latest tech in terms of display, (center stage) camera, speakers, etc. The design is also way more appealing. But he top reason for me to go with the Studio Display was the 600 nits brightness. I like to work in a bright room with plenty of sun light and a regular 350 nits display just doesn’t work for me.

The display is nice-looking and solid. It has very good speakers and just looks nice. Unfortunately, the refresh rate is 60Hz, the camera for FaceTime is sub par, you have to pay more $$ to have it come with an adjustable height, tilt, and it's expensive for a display with these limitations. W

Not going to lie -- the price point for this display was a VERY difficult pill to swallow, and I previously had no intention of purchasing it. The lack of features on this particular model (height adjustment, screen rotation, the thicker-than-preferred-in-2022 bezels was almost enough to deter me away initially. However, I've worked in the tech industry for years and I also do a lot of photography & video work, but truthfully have never spent more than $400 on a quality monitor. I've specifically targeted and purchased monitors that meet the specs I need for editing, and I CANNOT tell you exactly how many monitors I've gone through over even over the last 5 years, but it's maybe close to 2 per year. I've purchased the 28" & 32" versions of Sony's 4K monitors from Best Buy as well -- attempted to calibrate them, but the color just would not stick... Anyway, my birthday was the following day & Best Buy had one in stock -- so I bit the bullet and made this purchase. I had slight buyer's remorse for the first week, but it quickly faded. The display fits perfectly next to my iMac and seriously ties the aesthetic together in my office compared to having a monitor of a different brand, primarily being housed in black plastic, inconvenient controls, unmatching color profiles, having to manually adjust the monitor settings separately, etc... If you decide to get one, you'll probably laugh at the ginormous, clever yet simple, and protective packaging that this thing comes in. But I think that you'll love the quality and aesthetic of this thing. It was weirdly relieving having a monitor where I'm able to control the monitor settings via my Macs -- and more especially, having matching color profiles where both my iMac (or even my MacBook Pro M1Pro) and Studio Display have 100% matching colors on screen which speeds up my workflows. Not sure why people are complaining about the camera (I suppose it could be better this day in age, but image quality is great with the lighting I have in my office, and with Apple's Center Stage - people surprisingly trip out and give positive comments while I'm in Zoom meetings. Sound quality is fantastic and pairs very well with the homepods in the room. I ended up giving away the iMac to someone who needed a computer for college, so I now use the display solely with my MacBook Pro -- and having the USB-C/Thunderbolt4 ports comes in clutch by having the display also be a hub. Oh -- need I say that you literally just need the one Thunderbolt cable connected to the MacBook to connect the display, power the MacBook, as well as having access to whatever USB-C peripherals (I have 3 SSDs connected) you want connected. Almost forgot -- controllable Night Shift mode and even screen brightness via your Mac/keyboard -- YUUUSSSSSS!!! This display is NOT for everyone and is obviously not a necessity. However, it's a beautiful monitor that you can tell will last for well over 5+ years of monitor swapping -- so in that sense, it is worth the investment, at least for me. Lastly, if you're going to drop this amount of money on this display, just get some reassurance and get Apple Care. I purchased the $50 annual plan since it'll last until you decide to cancel it and is worth having for something like this.
