Old to New Tech

Used Target disk mode without issues. Keep in mind you will also need a proper Thunderbolt 3 (not just a USB-C charging cable that ships with new Macs).

I prefer Apple brand for this sort of adapter because of the "guaranteed-to-work" nature of staying within the brand.

Used for new Mac mini and old Cinema thunderbolt

It's a little pricey but works seamlessly, including the mic, webcam, and USB connections. I tried generic ones but they don't really work.

USB-C to Thunderbolt

Also you can daisy chain a Thunderbolt to FireWire 800 adapter to get older FireWire drives to work on newer MacBook Pro's. Worked like a charm on both applications.

Expensive but works well

This works well. Expensive but that is what you get for going with apple products.

Fast and Flawless Connection

Only Game In Town

Have a Drobo Raid array that uses Thunderbolt, and needed to connect it directly to my 2019 MacBook Pro. Works like a charm, and the speed is better than I expected.

Works with my Apple AND my PC

It works like a charm. One warning though, not all Thunderbolt 2 devices are ready for PC. My WD Hard Drive Duo only works on the Mac... get it while the price is cheaper.
