Expensive but works well

This works well. Expensive but that is what you get for going with apple products.

The great thing is that the thunderbolt ports on the back of the old monitor still work so that I don't need a second adapter to connect my old thunderbolt back-up drive.

I was able to keep using an older high quality audio interface with my new iMac. Highly recommend if you want to connect older gear with newer gear on an iMac.

I use it to connect my 13" MBP to my 27" Thunderbolt Display. These are regularly around as open box bargains as well, not sure why, but I pretty much just kept checking for one and got it at a good discount.

Just so overpriced. Oh well.

Great for Thunderbolt, but does not work with USB

I have a Mac Pro (coffee can version) and was hoping to get USB 3.1 (type c) to interface with the Thunderbolt connectors on my Mac. Not surprisingly, it didn't work. Oh well, I tried, right? Now I can just hang onto it for when I get something with Thunderbolt 3.
