This adapter has worked great for me in my recording studio. I use it on my main interface Antelope Orion 32+ Gen 3 that’s running the entire 32 multitrack setup without a hiccup. I recommend 100%

I bought this primarily to plug my Thunderbolt 2 devices into my Windows 10 computer that supports TB3. It works like a charm. One warning though, not all Thunderbolt 2 devices are ready for PC. My WD Hard Drive Duo only works on the Mac... get it while the price is cheaper.

Using this to connect an apple thunderbolt display to a new iMac to use as a second monitor. The great thing is that the thunderbolt ports on the back of the old monitor still work so that I don't need a second adapter to connect my old thunderbolt back-up drive.

Kept reading that this product didn't work for whole bunches of people. I have an iMac with Thunderbolt 3 ports and a fair number of Thunderbolt 2 peripherals. The cable works for me—thank you, Jesus.

I didn't think there was a difference in adapters until the insignia adapters I bought stopped working. This one has worked perfectly since I bought it. Used it to connect my thunderbolt external hard drives to a new Imac.

Great adapter! Another All-in-One device to connect older devices to newer ones! Also easy to use!!!

This device helps keep older equipment fuctioning along side newer gear. I was able to keep using an older high quality audio interface with my new iMac. Highly recommend if you want to connect older gear with newer gear on an iMac.

I always give high marks for most of Apple's accessories because they are just simply very good, always available, and makes for quick fixes to my configuration needs. Just so overpriced. Oh well.

Functions as advertised, note though that you can't use this to hook a DisplayPort video adapter to your Mac, only works for Thunderbolt. I use it to connect my 13" MBP to my 27" Thunderbolt Display. These are regularly around as open box bargains as well, not sure why, but I pretty much just kept checking for one and got it at a good discount.

I bought this just to experiment with it. I have a Mac Pro (coffee can version) and was hoping to get USB 3.1 (type c) to interface with the Thunderbolt connectors on my Mac. Not surprisingly, it didn't work. Oh well, I tried, right? Now I can just hang onto it for when I get something with Thunderbolt 3.

If you are migrating your external hard drive from an older iMac (Thunderbolt 2) to the newer iMac you're going to need one of these.
