Well, first off, it is just a simple dongle. Shame on apple for people needing to spend a fortune on this. the product works but not for the price. find something aftermarket and go with that.

Switched computers but it no problem now that i got this adapter. It works great with zero issues.

It took a lot of research to finally realize that older iMacs that use Thunderbolt 2 look shockingly similar to the Mini displayport. They are virtually identical, however, they are not compatible. I had a very difficult time getting my 2013 iMac to work as a display with my new 2019 iMac. This does the trick, albeit haphazardly. None of the other cables would work, and this one works much of the time. Not sure what is the problem or how I can replicate the way it gets recognized. Very frustrating. Save yourself the time and buy the genuine cable. There are no aftermarkets that are worthwhile

Converts usb c to older thunderbolt - got an older Apple display running as promised. It’s a little expensive but it works.

I bought a thunderbolt display years ago for my MacBook pro but went back to school for engineering and have wanted to work on my pc with that display but no laptop uses thunderbolt 2 except apple but my pc has thunderbolt 3. I bought this hoping that it would work and I can finally say I can now work on my pc using the thunderbolt display.

Upgraded to new MacBook Pro that only has type C ports. I have a WD HD with a thunderbolt connection which I used with my old 2013 MacBook Pro. This adapter works great with my WD HD and my new MacBook Pro. I give it 4 stars because of the price.

I had an Apple Thunderbolt monitor from 2011 and just got a used one for $200. I bought two of these connectors and plugged them into my MacBook Pro 15" and everything works perfectly. I can even use the Thunderbolt displays as USB-A hubs. Love this. The price is a bit 'gougie' as it's a simple adapter that Apple provides after having obsoleted my monitors. I had to pay $50 to continue to use something I paid $1000 for in 2011. It hurt my feelings. But on balance, at least I extended the life of my monitor for another 5+ years for just $50.

Good quality adapter for my Mac. Connects external HDs fine. No failures yet.

I was having issues connecting my Apple monitor with my new Apple laptop and this did the trick. It was a little pricey, but it works.

Using an samsung external monitor with thunderbolt 3 with my MacBook pro 2014, however you will need a thunderbolt 2 cable. The apple tax is a hassle, but still worth the investment (no lagg).

This is a great device that bridges the USB-C to Thunderbolt connection of my backup drive. Works like a charm. Highly recommend this product if you need it.

I needed to transfer about 80gb of documents from an okd macbook pro to my new macbook air. There isnt a thunderbolt 2 to 3 cable so this adapter was needed. It worked perfectly. But the challenge was then finding a thunderbolt 2 cable which i did find elsewhere. Adapter was a huge help
