Built a hackintosh for music production and theven new "type c" usb 3 isn't wide spread yet. Works like a charm! Plug and play. My Apollo twin quad works great with it.

This is a pricey dongle, but he was able to bring life back to my old Apple thunderbolt display with my MacBook using USB type C. The cable quality is strong, but is short.

This is the only way I can keep using my old Cinema Display in my new MacBook Pro, and it works perfectly, this is the second one I buy.

This length is a little short and the next size is way too long for what I needed. Price is expensive Overall it works great and no other complaints other than price and length options.

It works and that’s all that matters and easy to use now I’m able to use my old chargers

I got this to be able to continue to use my current thunderbolt 2 devices. It seems to work as advertised. Just plug and play typical of Mac devices. No problems with attached drives being recognized. Speeds good.

I bought a new external drive online for my mid 2011 iMac. I did not realize that the Thunderbolt plug had changed dramatically in size. I was happy to find this adapter converted from Thunderbolt 1-2 to the smaller Thunderbolt 3. I was skeptical it would work with my configuration since the packaging implied it was to hook up old Thunderbolt devices to newer Macs. Not the case at all, works great for ‘backwards’ compatibility as well.

Needed the Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter to interface to a computer. A little pricey at $50 but did the job!

This is a needed accessory to keep use accessories you already have. It's too bad that Apple sets the price so high, it should be half the cost, but otherwise works perfectly and is not bulky.

The Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter worked perfect.

Apple adapters are expensive but work great and seem of very high quality. Allows me to use my new MacBook Pro with my Apple Monitor.

So we remodeled our nursery and made it an office/spare bedroom. I was pretty picky about future-proofing components like a Thunderbolt 3/USB-C dock. Our existing MacBook Pro, circa 2013, isn't as future-proof. When you need to connect a Thunderbolt 2 cable to a Thunderbolt 3 dock, this adapter is what you need. I tried a few that weren't made by Apple and they couldn't hack it. Bought this one at Best Buy, voila. Everything works great now. It's a little overpriced for what it is, but you know that when you're head deep in the Apple ecosystem.

Works great. I used it to connect an older macbook air (thunderbolt port) to a new macbook air M1 (usb-c port). I used a thunderbolt to thunderbolt cable to overcome the connection gender difference. it worked great. Fast and reliable. This would also be good for someone who has legacy thunderbolt storage systems to connect to a computer with usb-c only (such as the new apple M1 laptops and mac mini's).

This overpriced adapter is your only choice for Thunderbolt 2 & 3 compatibility. There are other adapters, such as excellent ones by Kanex, but after all is said and done, this Apple adapter is the only game in town. It works like a charm. I used it for a LaCie Type C Thunderbolt 3 - 12TB Hard Drive. I was then able to chain a USB C to e-SATA raid, using the Kanex adapter into the LaCie, all connected to a MacBook Pro with TB 3. But, $50 bucks? C'mon Apple.

Works as it should. I bought it as an open box return, so it cost less than buying new from Apple or Best Buy. I have this chained with a FW800 to Tunderbold 3 adapter in order to use a Canon DV camcorder with iMovie.

As expected. Works very well. I connected it to a Thunderbolt 3 audio interface, then to a Thunderbolt 2 cable which I plugged into a Caldigit Thunderbolt 2 breakout box, that I connected via a Corning fiber optic Thunderbolt cable that was 15 meters long - appears to work just fine.

Works perfectly! Connected an old Mac Display and works like a charm.
