    Use this adapter on my 2011 Mac Mini running VMware 5.1 which now supports this adapter out of the box. Great to have the additional Ethernet port.

    So…it’s somewhat confusing (to me) so I’m going to put it first: This is a thunderbolt2 connection for older laptops. It worked perfectly for hardwiring my son’s MacBook to ensure a solid connection for school. I didn’t want to mess with it but I’m very sure the $20 USB-A version would have worked just as well. I just didn’t feel like taking the chance.

    When Mac users don’t have regular Ethernet cable, this is the perfect addition and will solve the purpose. Speed is good

    It works, its easy. Its simple. Great to transfer data with a network cable or if you're stuck at a hotel without that still runs wired only internet

    The only drawback to the new MacBook Pros is that they don't have an ethernet port built in. This allows you to still connect to a wired network.
