Purchased this to add wired ethernet access for my MacBook Pro Retina. It does exactly what it's supposed to do. Easy to set up and easy to use.

I love this item but even for a simple item I have some concerns- I am currently learning how to make the most of my 2 Macbook Pros and how to use computers full potentional- -hardwiring is worth it for internet performance. however, I also want to use external displays. I am moving to connect 2 external displays for maximum space. It appears I will need both thunderbolt ports to connect to displays. So using the thunderbolt port for ethernet reduces the possibility of 2 external displays down to 1. -I have been using a less expensive USB/ethernet adapter from Anker that also has 3 USB ports as well. It has worked and tested well. I have been using it with Service Electric 25/5mbps, Verizon FiOS 100/100mbps, FiOS gigabyte( 940/880mbps) plans and all three have tested at the pretty much the same speed with either the official Apple thunderbolt-ethernet and Anker USB-ethernet adapters. ....so I'm wondering if I need to be loyal to official Apple adapters and their increased cost.

This is a great product, one I would recommend to anyone. I use it to establish a strong internet connection on my mac to use Nvidia Geforce Now. Works great!

So we get the new college boy a brand new Apple laptop for college because he absolutely had to have it. Of course Apple no longer has half the ports you need so you have to buy accessories to make the thing work like my ten year old MacBook Pro does. I desperately needed ethernet service as I work primarily online and do a lot of video conferencing. My wifi wasn't keeping up and it was time to upgrade as I start a new business. The first ethernet connector I got would not connect and bring the speed to my laptop. I went to the Geek Squad and this was recommended. I haven't had a problem since, and the quality of the video conferences is much, much, much, much better! I now come across in conferences as the professional I know myself to be.

I needed a way to hard wire into my 1 Gig Fiber internet connection on my macbook pro. This thunderbolt port did the job. Very easy to install and switch the connection from wifi to thunderbolt.

I bought this product to record Google Hangouts On Air on my Mac Book Pro which requires a wired (not wireless) connection for smooth quality. It works great. However, this is a product meant to be used mostly with Apple laptops. If you put the laptop on your lap the dongle that comes out is just long enough to hook on the edge of whatever pants you are wearing. The dongle length either needs to be much shorter and less costly or it needs to be longer so that it does not catch on your pant leg if you are sitting down with your laptop. The designers failed to keep in mind that laptops are, in fact, often used on LAPS. A big mistake in my opinion since the catching on my pants is rather annoying. It's an annoying design issue that I hope they will correct in the future. $30 is a bit much for this little thing despite the technology inside. All in all I would recommend it if you absolutely need a Thunderbolt to Ethernet plugin for your internet connection to improve, your speed and quality of connection.

I got this for my son when he went off to college. The Wifi at his school is super slow, but they provide ethernet connections to each dorm room. His Macbook Pro didn't have an ethernet adapter, but using this adapter into a Thunderbolt port allowed him to quickly and easily connect to the ethernet and utilize high-speed access for his online classes. It's a bit expensive as all Apple products are, but works well and is high quality.

This product helps boost up my internet speed when my wifi is going kind of slow. It made my internet connection anywhere from 2,000kb/s through 4,500kb/s faster. I highly recommend this product, especially for those who use internet where there are many others also using the internet.

I have had not issues with this thunder to Ethernet converter. I am convinced I have better speeds than my coworkers. I would recommend to a friend.
