Great set top box- just missing 4K.

Compared to Android TV, the Apple TV has more apps, is more stable, and in my opinion, easier to use. It is however missing Amazon Prime Video, a big omission, and it does not have 4K support, nor does it include an HDMI cable in the box. If you have a Mac or other iOS device, AirPlay is great, and being able to use your phone as a remote or to type in passwords is useful as well. You can get a cheaper box like a ROKU, but this is well worth it.

Apple TV 4 is a great addition for those getting their content from iTunes and want to stream it to the TV. The newer Apple TV is a bit speedier than the previous model and the Siri remote is a nice addition. The biggest change is adding apps which does lets you expand as the tvOS store gets more content.

The new Apple TV is a worthy successor with all the added features of the App Store and Siri integrated throughout. Also the added functionality of the remote is super helpful. This is a solid device.

It worked great out of the box, with no networking problems at all. New remote is nice, thought he touch pad is a bit over sensitive. Picture is superb, though 4K would have been nice for the future.

I upgraded from the Apple TV 2 - 720p and it was definitely worth the wait and worth the upgrade. The remote on the new Apple TV is amazing, very responsive and it weighs practically nothing. The only downside to this remote is that you have to charge it for 9 hours to reach a full charge but it last for about 2-3 days of average usage. The App Store is growing but it has all the basic tv apps (Netflix, Hulu, etc) that a streamer would look for. The clarity and compatibility is also great, it's not 4K but the 1080p picture is very nice & clear. Siri is ok but it has not been developed enough to work with other apps. Over all I say it's definitely worth the $150 (base model). Worth your money!!!

This is one sharp TV streaming device! It is much zippier and stronger than the 3rd Gen Apple TV device. We find that it reduces any buffering significantly because it processes so quickly. We love the fact that we get to choose which apps we want instead of have them selected for us the way the 3rd Gen device did it. Furthermore, we find that even using Air Play is sturdier and works better than the 3rd Gen edition. All enormous pluses but it must be said that the remote is a delight to use--an amazing upgrade. Now, having said all of this, it must be understood that this device is superb if one has Apple devices and does much with iTunes (music, movies, TV shows, etc.). We do, but others may not. The new Apple TV doesn't offer some of the "essential" channel apps many may tend to favor (Amazon Video, Vudu, Sling TV, etc.). We find this unfortunate because if it were otherwise we might abandon our Rokus altogether in favor of this Apple TV. Until that time, we find ourselves returning from time to time to the Roku to access some of the channels and apps this newest Apple TV lacks. Nevertheless, this Apple TV is (in our view) a terrific improvement to the 3rd Gen Apple TV. Admittedly the price may be a little steep but we haven't regretted anything about this product and purchase.

I've always been a fan of apple tv. Absolutely love being able to download and remove apps. Still a bit buggy and apps crash quite often on me when it comes out of sleep mode.

It's worth the extra cash getting this Apple TV over previous versions not only because it's faster but the App Store is getting better daily the remote is a joy to use and you won't believe how well games play on this device. This could also be a great gift for someone in the Apple Eco system!

I'll admit it - I'm an Apple fan. Did we need this? No. Do we love this? YES! We use Siri to skip the first 2 1/2 mins of show recaps when watching - awesome. The remote has a trackpad which is fun. Our son played a few games like Crossy Road, but prefers his iPad. The interface is really nice. Do I love entering text using the trackpad? I do not. Did I love it on the last remote either? No. Overall, great upgrade if you're in the market. Would I run out to replace my existing Apple TV? Not unless you love the latest & greatest.

I love the new Apple TV, the interface is so smooth and easy to navigate. Its lightning fast! The new remote makes things so much better. The only thing I wish was available was a larger app store, and I know that will come with time. Cant wait till the remote app will work with it as well!

    Apple TV (Gen 4) - 32GB

This review is for the latest AppleTV 4th generation with Siri Remote. As has been reported by many on the web, the remote is just cool! Apart from the remote, here are things I really like on the new ATV: 1- iOS based modern Interface officially known as TVOS 2- Third party apps, though it is yet to reach the fever level of its iOS sibling 3- On-board flash based storage space (32Gb) 4- Super fast and responsive navigation thru out the entire system 5- Effective voice search, though yet to be implemented across the board. What I really hate on this ATV iteration: 1) NO Software remote and existing Apple Remote App not compatible. Are you kidding me? Apple's own TV remote App Cannot operate Apple's latest TV device? That got to be the biggest joke of the year! The remote incompatibility single handedly pulled down the Apple mantra of ...."it just works". It made the Apple TV look unfinished/beta/rushed job. 2)- Apple need to do away with the idea of forcing iTunes account authentication when setting up Home-Sharing between two devices within the same LAN. I should be able to share things within my wired or Wifi network without having to travel outside to iCloud and back to a device sitting just a few feet away. 3) No more optical audio output. Apple, you just released audio streaming service "Beat Music/Apple Radio", to encourage people to use your service means not shooting yourself on the foot by removing one of the main means of integrating it into existing AV system. Not every AV Receiver is capable of HDMI audio return. Even those that does, user may not want to be forced to use HDMI when they could have easily run an optical cable only.

I purchased the newer Apple TV and connected it to an in-ceiling projector. I like it because I can stream from my laptop or via Netlix, Hulu, HBO Go, Crackle or one of many available apps for download. In fact, I just watched the first round of the NCAA tournament after downloading the NCAA app. The ability to download apps and games is nice, but the main reason I upgraded from the previous Apple TV was for the bluetooth audio connection. It made it very easy to connect the Apple TV to my stereo after purchasing a separate bluetooth receiver for the stereo. I have had the product for about a month and have enjoyed the purchase every day.

I own quite a few devices capable of streaming media such as the Roku 3, Chromecast, NVIDIA Shield Android TV, Samsung Smart TVs, Xboxes and Playstations but have never owned an Apple TV until now. My goto device prior to owning the Apple TV was the NVIDIA Shield which still is one of the most powerful and capable streaming devices you can buy. Unfortunately, due to botched updates, poor color output, lack of app support, and weird glitches it has been put aside for the Apple TV. One of my favorite features of the new Apple TV is the new Siri remote. As cord cutters we no longer have a cable box and use the Apple TV for almost everything (more on that later) and the new remote is both a joy and easy to use. My absolute most favorite feature is that this is the first HDMI-CEC capable device that can accurately control the power, inputs, and volume on both my stereo and TV. I'm not kidding, it just works. No matter what input the TV or stereo was last set to when I press any button on the remote both the TV and stereo will turn on and switch to the appropriate input. And, as the Siri remote is bluetooth versus the traditional IR it is able to be used without pointing it at any of these components. Using the TV is very similar to using an iPhone or other mobile device. You have a a grid of apps and an app store with apps made specifically for the Apple TV. You'll find most of the big hitters here: Netflix, Hulu, NFL, CBS All Access, HBO Now/Go, Showtime Now, Disney, PBS, Plex, and of course iTunes. Of course, most of these apps like Netflix, CBS, and Hulu require additional service fees while other apps centered around a network or cable channel like Disney, Nick, HGTV, CNN, etc will require you to login with a satellite or cable provider account in order to access most content. Other than HBO / Showtime most network channels do not allow you to buy their content without a cable subscription. This is very likely to change in the future as the traditional pay TV model as we know it continues to erode and our viewing habits switch to this app-based paradigm. Because of Apple's strict rules and standards for developers to follow most apps behave in a user friendly and consistent manner, which I personally like. You can very easily switch between apps by double tapping the home button. The downside is some major content providers such as Amazon, Sling TV, and Vudu are not available at this time. Amazon has made a bad business decision by not allowing their app on on the Apple TV platform as they try to push Fire TV devices. Hopefully all of these apps will become available in the future, but there are no guarantees. Note that with the exception of SlingTV these apps are not available on the NVIDIA Shield either. So at this time you need an Apple TV and another device such as an Xbox, Smart TV, or Playstation in order to get all content. Bottom line is Apple has a device that's set up to redefine the way we watch TV, just like they transformed the way we listen to music with the invention of the iPod and basically invented the modern smartphone with the iPhone.

I've bought over the past 8 year the Apple TV line of devices. When it was revamped in 2010 to the "Hockey Puck" shaped streamer I thought it could not get better until they updated the chip and wifi speeds in which they did in 2013. Now the NEW Apple TV w/ Siri has up the ante with a slight departure from the static menu screen we have become accustomed to one that's dynamic. And is Siri fashion, you can ask questions on movies, actors, weather, traffic sports scores etc. Only if I could integrate Over the Air digital channels (Fox, NBC, ABC, CBS) would make it even more complete
