We added a newer TV to our bedroom so I moved the 2nd generation AppleTV 4k in there and picked up a 3rd generation for our living room. We went with the ethernet model since our place is hardwired everywhere. Much smaller and the remote now uses USB-C versus lightning port which is nice. Setup is a breeze once you already have a pre-existing AppleTV setup. It will ask if you want to use the same settings/apps and it will even configure it to look exactly the same and stay in sync at all times. Newer model is definitely a bit faster in certain playback and a touch snappier on the interface.

Have an old Samsung Smart TV and was getting frustrated at how slow and bloated it was. A few apps were also taken off the store (like Steam Link) and some new apps I wanted to use weren't accessible. Did some digging and ended up choosing this since I'm pretty locked into the Apple ecosystem and I feel like I got a brand new TV! The UI is easy to navigate and lightning fast and I love how I can even connect my AirPods to the TV if I wanted to. All the apps are there and there's no ads save for the Apple TV stuff (which is a given). The remote is great too (being able to speak into it instead of typing) and very response - although sometimes a bit TOO responsive with the top touchpad which can get a bit touch sensitive. Aside from that, best purchase I've made for my TV.

I’m really impressed with the Apple TV 4K. My Roku had been lagging a lot, and with this I can completely bypass that clunky software. It honestly feels like I have a brand new TV. The interface is super smooth and fluid, and casting music is seamless, which is perfect since I recently switched from Spotify to Apple Music. Totally worth it.

I never saw the point of AppleTV until I bought it after reading how smooth its user interface is and how it allows for some of the better picture quality with streaming/dolby Atmos. I enjoy being able to use my phone as a remote and love the upscaling it does with certain programs and streaming services. I even watch directv on it and have no issues with picture quality and use this way more than my TV’s own software.

Quick, sleek and minimal ads on the home screen. Helps the TV focus on giving the best picture while it handles all the little things. Would definitely recommend this over the built in smart systems as they are getting more and more congested with ads, which causes the overall system to feel sluggish.

I purchased this Apple TV a couple of weeks ago. It works flawlessly with your other Apple devices. I love the features: the Dolby vision and Dolby Atmos sound is amazing and is a huge upgrade to my regular smart LG TV. Great quality and smoothness, especially navigating through all the apps and screens, this makes a huge difference compared to a fire stick or if using the smart hub that comes on the standard tv's. Lastly, the integration of the Apple ecosystem is great, such as having different accounts, using apple music for some Karaoke, facetime, and the most useful to me is using my Airpods. I am able to watch anything I like with the sound coming through my airpods instead of my TV/Speakers, and can even connect multiple airpods at a time.

This is THE BEST streaming device I have ever owned and I am NOT a big Apple guy! I have Samsung phones and a Mac laptop. It is super fast, streams perfectly in HD or Atmos and the sound is terrific. I only bought it becauae my Roku Ultra suddenly stopped Streaming Apple TV app and I couldn't log back in until just last week. I love being able to keep different Apps open and can quickly navigate to other shows across several apps. I love the "what did they say?" feature and Appple TV will rewind 20 seconds and momentarily turn on closed captioning. $50 more than the Roku Ultra but worth it! With its advanced processor I expect it to last a long time, but with Apple's dreaded built in experation flaws (like dying batteries on our ipad) you never know!

Love it. I'm not saying the Roku Ultra wouldn't have been a fine alternative, as I haven't used one. But I am saying this device is a gem. I was a bit nervous about the rather minimalist remote for this unit, vs. the more conventional setup on the Roku. But I had faith that the designers at Apple would not release a product with a poorly conceptualized remote. They, essentially, didn't disappoint. The touch pad is mostly user friendly. Yes, it sometimes is a bit imprecise, but that becomes quite tolerable with familiarity. Note that, to an unaccustomed hand, it could seem all over the place. I actually called Apple thinking my remote was defective on day 2, because it seemed to be jumping all over the place. While on the phone, I realized that it was the touch pad reacting to my finger being on it - ever so slightly - that was making it jump. After more days of using it, this previously annoying behavior became fun to work with. I use the device along with a Hulu Live subscription and it plays well with their product. I had previously used a Chromecast Ultra for streaming, but found it severely lacking in terms of the control it offered when using streaming services like Fubo, YouTubeTv (awful, IMHO) and Hulu. The Apple device completely changed my experience of streaming. I can't imagine why anyone would not spend the extra $20 to get the Ethernet capable device vs. its non-ethernet capable cousin. While a good WiFi connection will render the distinction moot for most, it is still likely to not be as reliable as a direct ethernet connection. And for $20 over what should be years of use, I can't see the logic. While it seemed stingy to me initially that Apple didn't include a charging cord in the package, when I realized it could be charged with any phone charger sporting a USB C terminal, my annoyance disappeared. Worth mentioning, using the Siri based voice commands to fast forward or replay is absolutely wonderful. If you watch programs in which you know well the typical breakdown of ad times, you can simply invoke Siri, say, "advance 'x' minutes" and presto, you are there. I almost feel guilty about how easy it is to skip obnoxious commercials using this capability. Worth noting, if you are not a fan of using the voice capability to navigate, there are 4 speeds of advance/reverse easily accessed via the remote. It may take a few attempts to get the feel of how it works, but once you do, it is pretty terrific. One of my few complaints - and it is a minor one - is that Apple seems to have not seen fit to allow the user to configure the jump forward/revert back interval. I typically had set my cable remotes to jump 30 seconds and revert by 10; Apple's quick clicks only go forward or back by 10 seconds. Not my preference, but not a deal breaker. Installation was a breeze. As far as charging the remote, Apple's instruction suggest it might only be needed about 2x/year. So far, 1 month in, no sign that it is anywhere near needed yet. BTW - the 3 month trial of Apple TV that came with the purchase is a great extra for those who, like myself, hadn't yet experienced their lineup of shows. No doubt there are some cheaper alternatives to Apple TV. But I doubt anyone who is comfortable laying out the initial investment will be unhappy that they did so.

Setup this up with my Home Theater setup with Yamaha RX A8A. Works like a charm. Pro: Lots of storage. Simple user interface. Every bit of Apple!! It is able to handle the 4K at 4:4:4, and graphics look breathtakingly awesome. It is able to handle the Fast response to Receiver and to the projector. (make sure get a high quality HDMI, don't skimp out on the quality HDMI cable. You'll be hating yourself if you do). Cons: Closed tvOS! not much of a choices on the app store for this device. Hope Apples starts adding more compatible apps. It does have pretty much all the standard streaming apps on it. But for those who want to do more, this will limit your dreams.

This little box completely upgraded my TV experience! The A15 Bionic chip makes everything incredibly smooth – apps launch instantly and 4K HDR content looks stunning. I love how seamlessly it integrates with my other Apple devices (AirPods auto-switch is magic). The new Siri Remote feels just right, with a clickpad that’s precise but not fussy. Gaming performance is surprisingly good for casual titles via Apple Arcade. My only complaint? The price is steep compared to basic streaming sticks – but the premium performance and clean, ad-free interface make it worth every penny for Apple.

This is a great little streaming box. PQ is great! It's super easy to use. And the remote is awesome! The device does not have a volume adjuster. It relies on your TV volume which is excellent! And you can program the apple tv to then control the volume of the TV. If you turn on HDMI CEC. What that means practically is you never have to touch your TV remote again! Truly convenient.

I previously owned an earlier generation Apple TV, and this version goes far beyond what I’d expected. The user interface is easy to navigate, picture and sound amazing on my 75” tv & Atmos sound system, the remote is MAJOR improvement over the tiny silver one tjat was perpetually lost. I’ve decided to upgrade all of the Google TVs in our home with Apple TV…purchase #3 coming up soon.

I recently upgraded to the Apple TV 4K (128GB), and honestly, it’s been a game-changer for my home setup. The 4K HDR quality is stunning, and the Dolby Atmos sound makes movies and shows feel immersive. With the 128GB storage, I don’t have to worry about running out of space for apps or games. What I love most is how smoothly it runs—no lag, even when switching between apps or playing Apple Arcade games. The Siri Remote is super intuitive, and it’s great for controlling my smart home devices too. I also appreciate the Ethernet and Thread support since I’ve been expanding my smart home setup. That said, it’s not cheap. If you’re not already in the Apple ecosystem, you might find better options elsewhere. But for me, it’s been totally worth it for the performance and how well it integrates with my other Apple devices.
