I recently purchased the Apple TV 4K 32GB (2nd Generation) and I am extremely happy with my purchase. The streaming device is well-made and provides excellent picture and sound quality. The user interface is user-friendly and the remote is intuitive to use. The device is also compatible with a variety of streaming apps and services, giving me access to a wide range of content. The 4K capabilities are a major plus - my movies and TV shows look stunning on my 4K TV. The device is also compact and lightweight, making it easy to set up and move around. The price of the device is also very reasonable. I highly recommend the Apple TV 4K to anyone in need of a high-quality streaming device. It's a great value for the price!

Frustrated with my aging, clunky, slow, lagging Samsung user interface I decided to give the Apple 4k a try. Wish I would have purchased sooner! It's amazingly fast. Love the ability to customize the home screen by placing my most frequented apps in the top row. There is a feature to get the optimal picture quality from your TV by holding your phone up to the TV screen. 4k shows look great. I have a surround sound system and Doly Atmos capable receiver. Dolby Atmos content sounds awesome through this device. I've also have a comparable Roku device, but I would choose the Apple 4k hands down. The ease of use will have you familiar almost instantly. The new touch/scroll remote design is awesome. I'm able to scroll and scrub through recordings at such a fast pace with detail. Give it a try if you want the best streaming experience!

    The BEST Apple TV yet…period

    * TL / DR * - If you are or have been on the fence about upgrading an older Apple TV, just do it. Period. Buy this and just enjoy how incredible this new version is. Ok, so here is my take on the new 4K Apple TV. I have a long history with Apple products, including the Apple TV, all the way back to the first generation, yes, the large Mac mini looking one, all the way up to the previous 1080p version (not current 1080p version). I have a Roku 4K as my primary display, but was not using an Apple TV on this as I really like the Roku layout, the abundance of apps, and it’s generally flawless. I had a theater room with a projector, 110” screen, 7.2.2 Atmos, but it was 1080 (where my 1080p Apple TV lived). Well, I moved and combined my theater to my living room and now just use the 4K and figured I’d also upgrade to the new 4K Apple TV. I had not really wanted the new one, as the 1080p version was literally perfect, and from my viewing distance, the 55” 4K looked phenomenal with 1080 OR 4K, so I initially held off…until I wanted to try Dobly Atmos audio & use my AirPods Max. Fast Forward to replacing the 1080p Apple TV with the newest 4K model and holy cow, the increase in speed, the new remote (it’s worth it alone to just upgrade the remote), AirPods instant connection/transfer, Apple Music integration, Home Pod integration…it’s awesome. Again, I had no desire at all to replace my old 1080p version because I didn’t really feel the updates would be worth the $179 price tag, but for real, it’s worth every bit of that and more. I have found myself discovering old music that’s been updated with Atmos via Apple Music and it sounds incredible (something Roku can’t do). I now have the hub that Roku was for my theater, but with the added benefit of including the Apple stuff I use all the time on my iPhone & iPad Pro (Apple Music, movies purchased or digitally redeemed when I bought 4K or BluRay copies, private listening via AirPods, instant log-in and account connection via iCloud Keychain…the list just goes and goes). If you are a diehard Apple user, this really does make more sense than a Roku, and I LOVE my Roku. But there is no going back for me. Again, this new model has absolutely been the best home theater upgrade I’ve done is years and I really didn’t *think* I wanted one, even going as far as asking why anyone would…then I bought mine. Probably one of the best features is all of my older movies redeemed with Digital Copy are now in 4K, contain the Atmos tracks and I no longer need to use my Xbox One S as a dedicated BluRay / 4K player UNLESS I don’t have a digital copy of that film. That means I can sell or trade in my physical discs of those movies, putting some money back in my pocket and potentially paying for the Apple TV just by doing that. If you’re on the fence about buying one like I was, just get it. Picture quality is obviously amazing (and to be fair, this higher end Roku 4K provides identical replay quality - 4K @ 60hz), Atmos support system wide is awesome, AirPods connectivity is awesome, the new remote is awesome, iCloud photos (if you use that) is great, and lastly, all the major player streaming apps are there and the layout & speed is incredible VS some other platforms, especially Amazon Fire devices (BARF). If you are in the Apple Ecosystem and want to try a different streaming platform, this is hands down the best way to do it.

I’ve had smart TVs and other streaming boxes, but the Apple TV is by far the best. It’s easy to use, the interface is user friendly and fluid. Everything is just smooth. Definitely worth it. I let my sister borrow one of mine when she moved back in town. That was three years ago. It’s hers now and she has since purchased more to add to her home. I bought my brother one because he was using an Amazon fire stick and I was tired of the slow response when I would visit. He too, has added to this one. I bought one for my dad. He refuses to share it with his household. He set it up in his man cave where no one is has access to it.

Forget a Smart TV for streaming apps, get Apple TV

I started using streaming apps through my cable box, sure they worked, but interface was out dated and sluggish. Then I got a modern smart tv and interface was better and it was more responsive but the remote was awkward and interface still needed some polish. Just got this 2021 (2nd Gen) Apple TV 4K and WOW what a difference! It’s so fast and responsive I actually had to slow it down (yes there is a setting for the speed of the remote). The interface is simple but cleanly laid out and the cross platform voice search works great. Apps load quick and with a good internet connection videos load almost instantly. Interesting note about the new remote. The updated design advertises the ability to use the touch part like a jog wheel , do circles in either direction to advance or rewind, it does but there’s a catch…The apps themselves have to support it. Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO Max, do suppprt it. Disney + and YouTube do not. You can tell if an app support it when you pause a video if you tap or press the top of the jog wheel; if the on screen icon switches to a jog wheel you can do the circles, if it doesn’t you have to do the side to side like the previous gen remote. I do really hope more apps pick up support for this feature. It works really really well! The ability to use any other Apple device you have as a remote..The phone works the best, the iPad works good too, but is a bit large to use with one hand, even the Apple Watch can run certain functions. Picture quality is top notch. Just be sure to adjust the picture setting to HD and select match (format/range) to source. If you select output to full time 4K HDR the Apple TV will up convert EVERYTHING. This works fine for most video content, but often look awful for menus and most interfaces; resolution looks fine, but the colors get blown out. The sound is great across the board. Just be aware of it’s a case by case weather or not your app of choice supports the latest advancements (spacial audio, lossless, etc) so. Bottom line is the “box” itself is capable of all the current formats and features, but it’s up to each app and or artist to support them. Interesting BONUS FEATURE =. If you have a HomePod or HomePod Mini in the room, the Apple TV will respond to voice commands without using the remote! Now you do have to choose your wording carefully so Siri knows you are referencing a given Apple TV and app, vs an action on the HOmePod itself. It’s really cool to be able to walk into the room and say “Hey Siri, watch Netflix in he living room and the TV powers up, switches inputs and the Netflix app opens. Again it’s. Ot perfect, but once you learn the quirks, it really works smooth.

It’s great, I prefer over Smart TV to access apps. Perfect for those in Apple Eco system. Unlike other streaming boxes, there’s never been an app I needed & couldn’t find. Updated remote is nice & picture options are great (Dolby Vision & HDR). You can also pair a PS or Xbox controller & play Apple arcade games. Only downside is that it’s on the expensive side but you can look out for sales like I did (bought here at BB for $129).

We use it in our bedroom to replace the smart functionality of our cheaper tv (picture and sound quality is great but the software of the tv is slow and sucks). Apple TV is quick and easy to use. Remote is convenient to use and we can use iPhones as remotes. Brings new life to a slow tv that is otherwise great and can also screen share stuff from our other apple devices easily. Solid and easy recommendation.

    Best Streaming Device

I have always owned Roku and Roku 4k streaming devices. I couldn’t make myself pay the higher amount for Apple TV until my Roku started giving me issues. I have owned and purchased Roku for family members since they were first released in 2008. The same goes for computers, I have always owned Windows PC because of the price. I did weeks’ worth of research from YouTube to different tech websites before making the decision to spend the money to purchase Apple TV. I do not spend that kind of money lightly. After using my new device I know now I will replace every Roku device (3) in my house with Apple TV. But this year when I found out that my PC’s 10 wouldn’t run Windows 11 (both are 1 & 2 years old), I made the decision to go MacBook Pro, Mac Mini with the M1 chip, and give Apple TV 4k a try. So far, I feel I made the right decision. I was concerned about the lack of knowledge for Apple Products. So last year I traded in my Note 9 for an iPhone 11 Pro Max and was blown away by it. I knew if I liked the phone that much I would probably like the other apple products. I also purchased the apple watch last year and really liked it as well. I was really impressed with my apple products because they all work together even with the Apple TV. I didn’t know they would do that because I am new to apple products. While I was sitting up the Apple TV, I was able to use my iPhone and or iPad to set up this device. It made setting up and putting in my passwords so much easier. I like how secure the Apple TV seems to be. Every time I downloaded a new app my Apple password was required which was ok with me, plus when signing in the apps I used my iPhone to enter my passwords in steady of clicking each letter. Sometimes I was able to scan the QR code to on the screen to activate the app. All of this made the set up easier. Plus, you can use your iPhone as a remote control to run your Apple TV. When all of my devices work together like this it makes life easier. I’m really impressed with all of my apple products and cannot see my return to Windows or Android products in the future. I have the new Siri remote so I’m not sure how the old remote really works but I love the new remote. Once a person that is a Roku lover gets use to the Siri remote it is easier. On the Roku remote I press the wrong button so many times but, on the Siri, remote you have fewer buttons, and you won’t hit the wrong button. I love the circle wheel to move things forward or backward as well as the swipe. It makes life easier to charge a remote instead of using batteries. There are times my Roku remote went through a set of batteries in a month. So, I went to rechargeable batteries. To me it is easier to just plug the remote in via lighting cable to charge. This way I know my remote is always fully charged. I purchased the AirPod Max headphones about a month ago and had trouble with the Roku audio. After listening about 2 hours in the evening using my headphone the audio would just stop. I would have to go into my settings of the TV and re connect them even though it said they were still connected. Using Apple TV not one time did the sound/audio stop working. I was impressed because I love my AirPod Mas headphones and I used them to at least 4 hours to test this out. The color and clarity of the Picture through Apple TV is really good. I have a 55” Samsung 4K TV and with color calibration using your iPhone was fast and easy. With Roku the picture seemed darker than with Apple TV, maybe that is due to color calibration. I can’t see anything that I do not like about Apple TV 4K. It works great and is easier to set up than expected. I look forward into watching it every night. I don’t know what is going on with Roku TV devices, but I don’t feel they are the same as in the past. But if you are trying to decide because of the price between Roku or Apple TV, go with Apple. So, I have had no issues with Apple, and it is a relief. There is plenty of apps to download. That was another concern of mine would I have my favorite apps to watch but everyone was there including Brit box, Acorn, and Klowd TV. There is also plenty of games even though I don’t use the game apps. I purchased the 32gb which is plenty unless you play games then you might consider the 64gb but for most people the 32gb is enough.

hands down the best streaming device out in the market. It is expensive though. Airplay works like a charm. Colour accuracy is phenomenal. Very easy to use. Interface is super easy and fast. Functions such a volume and mute from other remotes like AVRs and integrated amplifiers can be taught to the Apple TV remote so you can use only one remote for basic volume control. Super useful

This streaming box is the best in class. Interface, functionality, ease of use, apps, remote, and A/V quality so far has been 5 stars. Don’t get me wrong, Amazon and Roku make good streaming devices. I’ve had them both. Their bang for the buck is very solid. But the new AppleTV 4K IME so far is the best. I’m recently within the Apple ecosystem. As such the value add for the AppleTV is very solid. Everything “simple and just works” — that’s what I expect with their ecosystem — is also solid with this box. The ability to raise the privacy level is also best, by far, too. I can’t speak to previous AppleTV boxes as this is my first. I can say that anyone not in the Apple ecosystem (minimum have an iPhone) and most especially if money is tight, I definitely can’t recommend this box to you. Do yourself a favor and go with Amazon or Roku, the premium cost for AppleTV just is not worth it. The upper line for Amazon streaming devices will still be a solid and definitely more cost-effective choice.

Even though there's not a big performance difference compared to the previous generation, the new SIRI remote is SO much better designed - OMG. I don't think a day went by when I didn't curse the old remote. It rarely did what I intended. If you have a previous gen and the new Apple TV doesn't seem to be worth the price, just replace the remote. It's compatible with the previous gen & Best Buy sells it separately for $60. Upon initial setup, I had to switch the video format to SHD (3rd one on the list) because of color balance issues. Apparently my 2 year old LG isn't compatible with the Dolby Vision format, according to Apple support. The faster processor is a very nice upgrade and it appears the video refresh rate is higher. The picture is flawless and silky smooth after the format change. If you want the best streamer on the market, this is it. It's no bargain but its performance easily blows away the top line Roku.

I bought an Apple TV despite having a Samsung TV because Samsung's TV OS had gotten progressively slower over the 2 years I've had the TV, I kept running out of space on it, and the TV displays ads with no way of removing them. I owned an Apple TV back in 2015 and upgraded to this. The improvement of the remote alone makes the purchase worth it. The remote is just a tad thicker and you can choose whether to use the touchpad or the physical buttons to navigate. It's very fast and the screen savers look nice on my TV. The integration with my iTunes library, iPhone, and even Apple Watch during Apple Fitness+ content is amazing. It is a tad expensive, especially compared to something like a Roku, but if you have any other Apple devices, the integration with them is priceless. Not to mention, no advertising of any kind and it runs very smoothly.

I've had Roku, Amazon Fire and AppleTV devices and for me, AppleTV is the clear winner. The AppleTV can do nearly everything the other two can but has a better interface and performance. If you're already an Apple household, this is a no brainer. It's more expensive than the other two options but well worth it in my opinion.

By far the best user journey out of all the different streaming devices. On top, if you have sonos speakers you can connect those using airplay which for me was the biggest winner. Picture on the 4k is phenomenal. No lag in the interface like the firestick(not hating on the fire stick i have a couple of those) which you would expect at the pricepoint this device is at. This device is premium.
